i knw he’s being snarky, but a nit pick of mine is in that eric boehlert tweet – obamacare started years ago, not 6 months ago. the web site and exchanges were just one part of a larger system that’s working to create all these benefits for people, especially those in the lower income levels. to talk about obamacare starting just 6 months ago is falling into a media/republican-created trap to prop up their other lies about the “failed web site launch.” that is some great data from new jersey, though!!

Mr. Africa has good days and bad days. We celebrate good days. Bad days, we hang in there and count our blessings.

We take it all in stride and one day at a time

Thank you so much for asking.

I hope people like Nate Silver are honest enough to acknowledge that they cannot place Obama’s polling in the same context as previous presidents because of these very forces that Joy Reid and BWD referenced above. I see that Silver had a piece yesterday trying to argue about what makes a President great and he seemed to be committing the error (either knowingly or not) of failing to take the peculiar and unprecedented nature of organized opposition to this President into account, for not just in his general approvals as President, but also his re-election numbers.

      • 40 debz
        May 24, 2014 at 10:22 am

Nate Silver should stick to looking at polls. He is not qualified to decide whether a President is “great” and polls have nothing to do with how great a President is. Any historian worth anything will tell him that a presidency can’t be judged until after he leaves office and it is the policies and whether those policies have worked over time, that tell the story of a “great President.” In PBO’s case, he can’t be judged on popularity without taking into account the unprecedented extreme behavior of the GOP and the lack of any progress by the gop congress.

Joy Ann is part of the problem. Her tweet question yesterday of Gen Shenseki was exactly that. She is a reporter. She should have done REPORTING on her show instead of the usual NY/DC punditry bat poop.

She also allows TBGOPers who come on show get away with false information. I know that she is perhaps bound by her contractual obligations……yet FACTS must reign supreme or her Tweets are hollow.

I agree Nena – which is why my initial response to this tweet was that the MSM has been complicit in these efforts to bring down PBO. I hope she read between the lines and did some soul searching. – especially since I had rejected her question on the VA issue earlier in the day.

This can’t be said enough. I see Hopefruit has the same tweet up, but I have to place it again because it’s what I’ve been thinking for years. THIS is exactly what the right and MSM are doing. I’ll be damned if they succeed.

Another day – another mass shooting. Why? Some sorry ass privileged fellow feels sorry for himself because “girls rejected him” so he has to shoot and kill seven people. The alleged shooter (Elliot Rodger) is just 22 but was prepared to kill because he’s angry that he is still a virgin….Incidentally, the alleged shooter’s is reported to be former Assistant Director of the Hunger Games (Peter Rodger)…

    Good Morning TOD family

I so enjoyed reading the recap of our week. I wanted to share a recap of my week also.

Monday – OFA team holds a signature gathering campaign @ local Trader Joes in support of minimum wage. Folks were very happy to sign this petition. We gathered 250 signatures and had 2 folks agree to volunteer. We also got to show off our spiffy new OFA banner.

Tuesday – One of our OFA fellows has been hired by Tom Udall’s NM campaign, we got together at a pizza place to give him a proper sendoff.

Wednesday – I spent the day taping together a big sign to be used by the Red to BLUE team at our Wed. Night Market. Then our hard working volunteers sat at the market for 4 hours promoting Democrats, registering folks to vote, and asking folks to join the Red to BLUE team.

Thursday – we hold a phone bank for Michael Eggman in CA Dist 10 – made over 500 calls and got 3 folks to take lawn signs :->

I will try and share some tweets so you can see photos, but my tweets never seem to display the photos, even though I click on the display media box – any advice would be appreciated.

Next week we are just dong a phone bank – Whew!!
