Sometimes we just think people like Maya Angelou should live forever! I’ve loved her gentleness and poetry for decades, and she’s been such an inspiration in our lifetime – in so many ways.

“Sometimes we just think people like Maya Angelou should live forever!” – I certainly thought of her as immortal as I did Nelson Mandela. Both were inspirations to the entire world… gifts to the world, really.

I want to thank Chips, Nerdy Wonk, LL and everyone for their remembrances of a great, wonderful lady poet. I did not know Maya Angelou personally….but she was personal to me. She was someone whose voice was like being hugged by GOD a great comfort. She touched my life in a very personal way at a time that I needed to hear, feel, and experience her words in “I know why a caged bird sings” and “singing and swinging and getting merry like Christmas”. I picture Ms. Angelou in heaven seated next to GOD, greeted by all those who loved her that passed on before her while those still on earth rejoice her homecoming. RIP.

My daughter, Blackhawks fan. (and a huge sports fan since she was a little girl and we used to catch her in her room after bedtime calling sports radio to talk about the Chgo Bears) (I’m not really a hockey fan, but the game tonight was a beaut—-Hawks win in double OT)

I see that @HunterSchwarz is a Buzzfeed reporter based in Los Angeles. But the replies to this celebratory, joyful tweet could be posted by World Net Daily believers. What a bunch of wet blanket losers.

This photo belongs in the V-POTUS photo Hall of Fame.

Cannot keep up with POTUS and VP’s schedule. President Obama is addressing such a wide wide of domestic and foreign issues every single day, while traveling far and wide, making history daily.

Meanwhile the sourpusses in Congress appear to be being paid by taxpayers to do nothing more than the TV pundits (who at least aren’t babbling about yesterday’s news on taxpayer dollars).

If I were the editor, I’m not sure I would have used this particular phraseology for a headline, at this particular time, but I think the classy woman they wrote about could certainly handle it!

Of course, it could have happened anywhere at any time, but it seems doubly sad because we’re winding down! Our military goes in harm’s way every day. God bless them.

OMG… I’m sitting here pinching myself as a political ad flashes across my TV screen with Georgia football legend Herschel Walker hawking for Jack Kingston for Senate. Are you friggin’ kidding me?

    PERIOD.

Luke Russert is such a clueless, unqualified naif that he actually tweeted this.

It pains me to see what a Chuck Todd clone Luke has become because I really liked and respected his father. I loved the way Tim Russert did his homework and didn’t let pols weasel their way off the hook when confronted by their hypocrisy or lies. I enjoyed his heartfelt tribute to his Dad in his book about “Big Russ.”

Twitters are outpacing my ability to keep up to date, but it seems to me that the MSM seems to finally be wising up to what a grifter/traitor Greenwald is. MSM loves to talk about themselves and protest “First Amendment rights!” at the drop of the hat, but they also harbor simmering resentment toward those journalists who are now rolling in the dough.

Next week marks the first anniversary of the public unveiling of #Snowdenwald.

Here’s a sweet reminder of where Vox jerk Ezra Klein stood last year.

Amazing post and comments as usual. I know I can always count on you, NW! This is a very special place. I’m always glad to see the focus on our positive energetic President and VP. Just signed on and found this funny

….Harland Dorrinson, a fellow at the conservative think tank the Center for Global Intervention, said that he was “stunned” to see Obama “defend his failure to engage the United States in impulsive and random military adventures.”….
