Night owl chat - The Four Seasons

After this most annoying of days, I think we need to be reminded that beauty abounds in the world. Ugliness always gets a bad writeup in history; beauty and humanity are what endure.

Someone churlishly once said that Vivaldi wrote the same concerto 500 times. But what a beautiful concerto to repeat.

Back in a former life I danced this ballet. Feels so good to move to this music!

As much as I like the Four Seasons, I didn’t like it when Surya Bonaly (French ice skater champion) danced to it. She made that music the more memorable by the irreconcilable choreography she performed repeatedly.

Got all excited when I saw Four Seasons. A little Frankie Valli with Sherry, Rag Doll, etc.

But this Four Seasons is okay too.

Many on MSNBC should be fired - Martin called out Palin for her lies and bigotry - and was fired - telling the truth in today’s media is a firing offense.

This is a pretty thorough compilation about what Native American dress means and why its appropriation is offensive:

Hey! I’m pretty animated from dealing with Amazon about missing packages and then trying to untangle the invoice and payment system of a huge conglomerate. Not to mention the clown show that’s been going on all day on twitter. In other words, stimulated by frustration!

Getting something delivered is really getting to be a hassle. I also sometimes wish we couldn’t track packages, because watching your precious shipment (Ha!) hightail it across the country - seemingly back and forth - in the slowest way possible is ultra annoying. My biggest beef is when you pay FEDEX or UPS shipping rates, and then they eventually turn the package over to the USPS (if it qualifies - I guess due to size and weight or your zodiacal sign) and the mail handler hands it to you, a gazillion days later. Grrr. Don’t get me started!

Oh, man, it’s really sort of byzantine. The hard thing here is that they just dump things in the lobby. Not so long ago they would bother with a signature or leave it at your door. When you add up how much we pay in shipping fees, we could probably send a few kids to college.

I was listening to Joe Madison’s radio show today and someone called in to discuss how the media is on the hate bandwagon of Sgt. Bergdahl and his family. He was really upset and wondered what we could do to let them know that we are appalled about their reporting. We can call them but he was wanted something done that would hit them hard. What can we do? How do we hit the news where it hurts? Could it be an organized, total blackout for a period of time?

Hi Carolynfromdetroit. I agree with you. I am pissed with the media especially for fanning the flames and turning what should be a joyous welcome home for Sgt. Bergdahl and his family into a shark invested feeding frenzy of the crazies who wanted him home now don’t. I have not watched any of the so-called news shows not even MSNBC. I only come here or watch HGTV. I think we can call or write the sponsors and put some pressure on all the media to knock it off and act like they have some fucking sense or go back to talking about the missing plane.

Since I do not watch/listen to them anyway (TOD is my news source) I would go for that. It would be great, really great if CNN, MSNBC, FOX (especially), and all others lost massive numbers of viewers for days! Hallelujah, let us do it!

It’s a real shame our lazy idiots in the press can’t be bothered to cover the President’s trip. Why do all these mopes travel with him if they don’t think it’s important? Just waiting for him to make some huge blunder. NOT going to happen.

Sadly, Sen. Feinstein has never faced a major challenge from within the Democratic party or by the Republican Party. She is tolerably progressive on such issues as women’s rights and gay rights, but she has always been a staunch corporatist conservative Democrat who is supported by the business community, including many Republicans. She is also a Clinton loyalists who resented, and probably still resents, the election of President Obama. I am hopping that this is her last term in office. California Democrats must start grooming some real Democrat to challenge her in 2018. Hopefully it will be our brilliant AG, K. Harris. But I understand that she may have her eyes set on running for Governor in 2018.

President Obama needs a attack dog. A non apologetic take no prisoners person to go on Tv. A person who doesn’t apologize and doesn’t allow interruptions while speaking. Someone who stands up for what the President has done. I am sick of these wimpy democrats who are afraid of their own shadow while the repubs just say anything and that becomes the repeated narrative. All they care about is staying in office. If there is no one like that he should do it himself. No holes barred, take no prisoners, name names, deleted tweets, and callout the hyprocrits on a televised address at prime time. Give them something really not to like. I personally am sick of the media, repubs and wimpy dems. It is time for a come to Jesus moment.
