    http://www.chesterfieldobserver.com/news/2014-06-04/Front_Page/Retreading_the_GOP.html

“White enjoys the irony that many voters in a district gerrymandered to provide Cantor an electoral buffer against Democratic challengers now regard him as not conservative enough.”

WASHINGTON, DC – House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) tonight issued the following statement:

“Eric Cantor and I have been through a lot together. He’s a good friend and a great leader, and someone I’ve come to rely upon on a daily basis as we make the tough choices that come with governing. My thoughts are with him and Diana and their kids tonight.”

“someone I’ve come to rely upon on a daily basis as we make the tough choices that come with governing”

They don’t know what the word “governing” means – and as for tough choices – they have one rule – if PBO is for it – they are against it. Nothing tough about that process. Is Boehner crying yet?

If Cantor runs as a write-in he will split the right wing vote making it even more possible for a Democrat to win the seat. I don’t think his right wing Koch masters will allow him to do that.

I think Boehner’s quite relieved to be rid of Cantor. His statement was like a knife in the back!

But if you ask me, Boehner better watch his own back. There may be a move to unseat him.
Fasten your seat belts. 2014 is going to be quite the ride.

Tonight’s loss is bad news for Lady Walmart.
If she didn’t know it before she sure must be getting it now.
Media + $$$$$ do not guarantee a win. Polls done by idiots are unreliable.

Ideas that voters connect with and/or a charismatic telegenic personality are better predictors for success.

Even bad ideas are more effective than no policy positions except what can I say now to win.

oh my goodness. dickinson is rockin and rollin on twitter right now. will need to investigate him more before committing full blast to make sure he’s not just trying to score points with the o.f.a. crowd, but so far so good!!

      • June 11, 2014 at 12:56 am

        He’s definitely telling it straight!

      • June 11, 2014 at 12:59 am

yes, not sure what’s going on with the democrats in this race since just learning about them tonight. dickinson does say some weird stuff too i see, and this trammell seems incompetent. hmmm…time will tell soon enough.

          June 11, 2014 at 1:30 am

there’s weird stuff online about him that’s not so good, but can’t tell yet if it’s “the news” doing a hatchet job on someone who openly promotes president obama, which is what the entire national “news” folk are paid to do now. we’ll see over the next day or two.

          • 106 jacquelineoboomer
            June 11, 2014 at 1:45 am

Did a little research on him, too, and found the weird stuff being said about him. He’s a Dem running as an Independent, so there’s that. Just in case it’s all a ruse, I unfollowed and un-R/Td him … but if he turns out to be legit and a better candidate than the Dem and can beat the tea partier, then, hey. Whatever it takes. We’ll see.

        June 11, 2014 at 1:20 am

Really more a a story of the GOP eating their own. GOP state head couldn’t stand Cantor and took every chance to diss him.
Did you see the video of Cantor’s town halls where he was getting booed?

        • 113 Don
          June 11, 2014 at 1:31 am

I didn’t see them but I heard he got booed at town halls with his wife standing right beside him. Cantor gave tacit approval to the tea-party and their vile message of racism xenophobia. He was one of a handful of Republicans that plotted against President Obama on inauguration night. As the old saying goes, always dig two graves, one for the person you’re trying to get, and one for yourself.

          • 114 catrst
            June 11, 2014 at 7:53 am

I just thought that if the white supremacist/xenophobic/homophobic/anti-semitic/misogynistic/theocratic wing of the GOP ousted Eric Cantor we might want to examine this event from one of those aspects.

Was that concert at the Ali-Foreman fight?

      • 119 Dudette
        June 11, 2014 at 2:10 am

Hey, now that you mention it… Yes, it is! Here’s the whole concert. [I love YouTube!]

A documentary on the legendary soul music concert staged in Kinshasa, Zaire in 1974
resented in conjunction with the landmark “Rumble in the Jungle” boxing match between famed pugilists Muhammad Ali and George Foreman, Zaire ’74 was a three-day music festival in Kinshasa that was organized by South African musician Hugh Masekela and American record producer Stewart Levine, and featured performances by such famed musicians as James Brown, Bill Withers, and B.B. King, among others. Many of the American musicians performing at Zaire ’74 had been emboldened by the American Civil Rights movement, and saw their journey to Africa as a unique opportunity not just to perform for a new set of enthusiastic fans, but to explore their roots as well. However, while the forward-thinking promoters of Zaire ’74 hired a talented team of documentary filmmakers to capture everything from the setup to the performances to everyday life in Kinshasa, the project ran into trouble when the Liberian investment group that financed the festival and film ran into some rather serious legal disputes. For the next three decades, the remarkable footage would sit untouched and unedited — a valuable sociohistorical artifact seemingly forgotten, and left to succumb to the ravages of time. Later, in 1996, the rights were settled in order to help facilitate the completion of When We Were Kings, an Academy Award-winning documentary focusing on the very same Ali/Foreman match that took place alongside the Zaire ’74 music festival. Recognizing the need to assemble the neglected Zaire ’74 footage while it was still possible, When We Were Kings editor Jeffrey Levy-Hinte made it his own personal mission to see the long gestating project through to completion…
