The announcer is killing me with laughter.
He is soooooo good, out of the box, says the most unexpected things and it has me in stitches.
“May i ask what the President is doing over there? We’ve been waiting for 20 minutes now!” LOL!
That was funny. His wife is going to strangle him when he gets home. hahahahahahahaha
Yes, he’s very good – actually funnier than some late night comedians!
He is wonderful!! My heart is so full of joy seeing this welcome and beautiful dancing.
That MC is just hilarious.
My lungs are hurting.
He is precious. Wish the President would show up. I have work to do!
It’s Friday, Jackie! Time to head home!!

I posted this on the last thread just after this one was opened up. From a commenter at BJ:
There’s something cringingly addictive about a team that can’t get its defensive line to react to events in real time. I’ve seen dead goldfish fight a flushing toilet with more success.
“Are we about to be drawn back into a conflict in Iraq?” Smith asked. “The same people who 12 years ago told us this will be quick, this will be easy, this will be inexpensive, they will see us as liberators, it’s the right thing to do, are now telling us: It’s the right thing to do. What’s the endgame? Who’s thought this through?”
PBO lays down the law on Iraq.
The Dutch eviscerate Spain.
And now PBO is at a pow wow.
All in all a good day.
:D :D :D

ha!! I am loving this!
Just check out this nausea-inducing array of talking heads for this Sunday’s TV news shows:
Meet the Press (NBC): 2012 Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney
Face The Nation (CBS): Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC); RNC Chair Reince Priebus; Proposition 8 opponents Ted Olson and David Boies. Roundtable: Robert Costa (Washington Post), Gwen Ifill (PBS) and Nancy Cordes (CBS News)
This Week (ABC): House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-VA); Rep. Michael McCaul (R-TX); former Army Vice Chief of Staff Gen. Peter Chiarelli; retired Marine Corps Col. Steve Ganyard. Roundtable: Rep. Luis Gutierrez (D-IL), Democratic strategist Donna Brazile, radio host Laura Ingraham and Weekly Standard editor Bill Kristol
State of the Union (CNN): Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC); House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-VA); Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-IL); Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI); Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN); Rep. Donna Edwards (D-MD)
FOX News Sunday: Rep. Mike Rogers (R-MI); Rep. Greg Walden (R-OR); Rep. Tom Price (R-GA). Roundtable: Brit Hume (Fox News), Julie Pace (Associated Press), George Will (Washington Post) and former Rep. Jane Harman (D-CA)
I lost it when I saw this list.
This is a disgrace, what happen to being fair and balance?
You might as well call it the GOP Sunday Morning Shows.

Where is POTUS and FLOTUS?
I think they’re having a round table discussion with some of the younger tribesmembers. I guess there’s a LOT to talk about! :)
oh he’s hell on wheels, Mr. Announcer Tony :)
I do understand his frustration. They were on a schedule so this does impact the timeline for the events.
POTUS is running behind schedule; can't be a traffic jam, lol. #NorthDakota #SiouxCountry #IndianNation— ForUS50 (@FORUS50) June 13, 2014
Was just catching up while listening to the live feed of the Cannon Ball celebration and I just had to bring this here from a post yesterday by jojothecat:
“I say that there be a “WAR” tax on millionaires before we send one piece of equipment or one person. No profiteering and NO contractors will be paid until the war is OVER.”
I had to endorse this idea! Both pieces: extra tax on millionaires to pay for wars would mean next to none would be authorized and also if no one in the MIC gets paid until it’s over, any war started would not be indefinite – in and out!
Hi MadameSoph! Thank you for bringing my comment forward. I saw your response to me and was hoping to see you here again.
In order to stop this media rush to wars we need to invoke an automatic “War Tax” and Contractors get paid once the war is over. Also if there is a requirement that every healthy graduating senior from high school and college must spend one year in service of their country (male or female) there would be none of this call for war. There is no special treatment for the privileged or for religion. Mormons and Amish have to go too.
bless the announcer…I would be nervous too:-) I feel your pain…
that’s the first time I’ve heard anyone verbally thank the Secret Service. I know many of us have here, just first announcer I’ve heard do this.
No, David Brooks. Withdrawing from Iraq wasn’t ‘the stupidest thing of all.’ Invading Iraq was.
Today, David Brooks offered his opinion on Iraq, 2014. The guts are in the final paragraph, where he called for: “a more forward-leaning American posture around the world, an awareness that sometimes a U.S.-created vacuum can be ruinous. The president says his doctrine is don’t do stupid stuff. Sometimes withdrawal is the stupidest thing of all.”
Hmmmmm. You know what. I don’t think so. The stupidest thing of all is invading a country that hadn’t attacked us, posed no real threat to us, had no weapons capable of reaching us, or any capability to produce such weapons for the foreseeable future.
To fulfill the Poniewozik Rule, let’s see what Mr. Brooks was saying about the Iraq war before George W. Bush gave the order to invade:
The president has remained resolute. Momentum to liberate Iraq continues to build. The situation has clarified, and history will allow clear judgments about which leaders and which institutions were up to the challenge posed by Saddam and which were not.
In other words, David Brooks was on board. Who wasn’t, might we ask? Barack Obama. Remember what the current president said, at the same time Brooks was leading the charge in favor of invasion?
I know that an invasion of Iraq without a clear rationale and without strong international support will only fan the flames of the Middle East, and encourage the worst, rather than best, impulses of the Arab world, and strengthen the recruitment arm of al-Qaida. I am not opposed to all wars. I’m opposed to dumb wars.
I left and got caught up in a meeting with my boss. I’m back just in time.
Thanks everyone for the pics on the last post! They are awesome :-)
Poor Announcer, he’s trying to fill time until the Big Chief (POTUS) arrive.
There they are!
They’re here now! :) Let the celebration commence.
The announcer said “The Chief of all Chiefs is here”
Best announcer ever. “Chief of All Chiefs” Our President.
That announcer is something else.
We can’t see the dancers on the wh feed. Is it being shown on any other live feed?
They panned out now….

now that is the cutest thing I have ever seen.
Sorry O/T…but this is the POW the RW demonized and called a coward and a traitor.
“American Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, while held prisoner in Afghanistan, was locked in solitary confinement for two straight years and did not see another human face for that entire time, senior military sources with knowledge of his ‘reintegration process’ told Fox News.”
“Officials said Bergdahl, during that period, only talked to his captors through the wall of a six-foot-by-six-foot metal box, which he was kept in.”
Wow—-they—-the news media and the GOP maybe should have waited until they got all the info before they rushed to get all those condemning critics before the cameras.
Yeah, well…you know how THAT works out! I hate that this happened to him and I hate those big mouth talkers that threw barbs without knowing the facts. They never freaking learn.
and they never apologize – they just “move on” and leave their listeners believing all the sh!t they preach.
There are no words.
oh that poor man – shame on everyone who has attacked him. Heartbreaking. Thank goodness for President Obama.
The child beating the drum….so precious!!!
How sweet is this?!!!!
So who knew I’ve been doing my tribal dance all this time! :-)

Someone should get some wind turbines on that reservation to build some jobs out there! Seems like that should be a no brainer from the looks of things out there:)
That is such a good idea df. There are Wind Turbines in ND.. in different area, but I don’t know if there are any on the reservations. Standing Rock has a big casino.

Me too. Wasn’t that a beautiful blue blanket the First Lady was given? Of course the color was beautiful on her.
It was nice. I also liked the way FLOTUS modeled the blanket. :-) that was sweet.
I think it’s a ceremonial shawl.
well I wouldn’t be surprised if she wore it to an event. That is something she would do. :-)

I agree……that includes African American’s for Republicans is like slaves for leather whips.
After watching all of the preliminary action at the pow-wow for more than an hour waiting for PBO and Michelle, the moment they came the door bell rang and I missed most of it. This remodeling is seriously getting in the way of my TOD time.

Well folks, you just missed an historic event because MSM was too busy showing more tapes of John McCain and Mitt Romney.— Pat Fuller (@bannerite) June 13, 2014
This is SHAMEFUL. There was no reason that MSNBC or CNN could not carry the President’s visit. Instead of showing hours and hours of John McCain and Mitt Romney’s ugly mugs on tv, pushing their cynical, narcissistic and agenda-driven arguments for more war, these networks could have spared a couple hours to at least show the welcome ceremony, receiving officials’ remarks and carry the President’s speech.
Then 2 weeks from now, they’ll be busy spreading lies about the events of today. Utterly shameful – this US media.
These reporters are stupid…..they are asking for outcomes when the patient has been back here for 8 hours.
