Can’t believe I’m weighing in—-caught up in the Fever—-because I only know American football and basketball—-(sports with scoring, don’t ban me chips, hope you found your brush)—-and only know what I call soccer from watching hundreds of hours watching my kids and grandkids play, mostly to a 1-0 or 0-0 tie. (yawn) haha, just kidding, don’t ban me. I might root for Ghana if they weren’t playing my country’s team, but they are. It is my opinion that unless you were born and raised in Ghana and just arrived here a couple of months ago, all Amer. citizens should be rooting for the USA. I can’t imagine rooting for Sweden or Denmark, my heritage countries, over USA.
    Hey—a score for USA!
Should be fun, whatever the outcome.

      (b) Still haven’t found my brush :???:

Chips, I think you’d better start buying two of things like brushes, combs, house slippers, etc. etc ….Oh and tons of socks. Just a suggestion.

Your brush is under your bed. I think. Did you look under and behind everything. In the couch cushions. Dannystix is innocent! I will send you a new one. I arrived on vacay once without my brush so I know the trauma, and I am now stocked with hundreds—or 6— in case one goes missing and take several with me everywhere so that I will never have to experience that Calamity Ever Again!

        • June 16, 2025 at 6:32 pm

I used to have about 96 brushes Dotster, but somehow only ended up with one - and I can’t really blame Danny for the previous missing 95 because they disappeared before he arrived. I will admit to nervously watching him poo today, just in case. No joy - although, I might have thought twice about using it again. Honest, I looked under every bed in the house, because I have found so many things under there - even a frying pan. I’m 60% sure he’s guilty, but I will apologize to him if he proves innocent.

Have your camera ready the next few days. If a brush emerges, that would surely be your best photo yet!—-would even top your porta potty and horse poo masterpieces—-might even be a Pulitzer.
And if there is “joy”, remember to wash it—real good— before resuming use.

    Definitely O/T..but important medical news.

    http://apnews.excite.com/article/20140616/us-med-faster-cancer-drugs-c848a054f3.html

A bold new way to test cancer drugs started Monday in hundreds of hospitals around the U.S. In a medical version of speed dating, doctors will sort through multiple experimental drugs and match patients to the one most likely to succeed based on each person’s unique tumor gene profile.

It’s a first-of-a-kind experiment that brings together five drug companies, the government, private foundations and advocacy groups. The idea came from the federal Food and Drug Administration, which has agreed to consider approving new medicines based on results from the study.
Its goal is to speed new treatments to market and give seriously ill patients more chances to find something that will help. Instead of being tested for individual genes and trying to qualify for separate clinical trials testing single drugs, patients can enroll in this umbrella study, get full gene testing and have access to many options at once.

The study, called Lung-MAP, is for advanced cases of a common, hard-to-treat form of lung cancer — squamous cell. Plans for similar studies for breast and colon cancer are in the works.
“For patients, it gives them their best chance for treatment of a deadly disease,” because everyone gets some type of therapy, said Ellen Sigal, chairwoman and founder of Friends of Cancer Research, a Washington-based research and advocacy group that helped plan and launch the study. “There’s something for everyone, and we’ll get answers faster” on whether experimental drugs work, she said.

I have a question. Can anyone explain to me how President Obama mishandled the Syria situation? Michael Tomsky was saying this in his post about Iraq and I am confused because I don’t see it that way. He was complimentary about PBO with regards to Iraq and Afghanistan, but said PBO had disastrously mishandled Syria. I consider that very hyperbolic, but am curious as to what you know and think about this. Thanks.
