This IS my cry these days, Layla, and I intend to refer to it every chance I get. I really do believe that it’s time for most of these old-timers to call it quits from active duty and step into a role of mentoring the ‘younger’ democrats. We already have a good quantity of ‘young democrat blood’, but the old blood is too self-centred to see that it’s time to move over. Why can’t they sense that it’s time for a new order? Each time I think of it I get a bit angry.
it is coming to 2.30 a.m. in my country of birth;

You can’t believe the noise in my house! My son and a friend are watching, one supporting Ghana and one USA, and then you have me running from my laptop to the living room whenever they start yelling so that I can see the replay.

How long is a match?

Ok, thanks. It shows on line that it’s 93min??? That’s why I was confused. I know very little about soccer :(
regular time is 90 minutes of play ( 45 mins each half with minutes of rest);
but clock stops during injury time; so after 90 minutes, the injury time must be added back;
when there is a draw which must be resolved then 15 minutes of extra time is added (up to 30 mins) before a penalty shoot kick out (if still unresolved)

in the event of a US win, this threatened “disowning” by “their kids” (note how I am now referring to my own siblings) is technically illegal - but if it is the next levels of qualification then ALL Bets are off ;
so as it stands, I might loose my citizenship by birth and any associated heritage based on US’ results of World Cup 2014 ;
ps : Ghana is in west Africa and I was born in East Africa (our country team didn’t qualify) but in the event of any African team playing, the who family is on the African team’s side

Going wild in Grant Park. And can someone help us soccer (futbal, football, whatev) challenged peeps here at my house. Mr. dotster and I both were cheering away, but we were MAD about the extra 5 minutes——what up with that? We’re in the dark here. All we know is that mr. dotster got a yellow card at our daughter’s game once—-she was playing on a boys team—-and he yelled, “That’s right, Kelly. Run right over them!” and it was buh bye mr. dotster. It was so sad. And rude—-by the card giver outer. But about that 5 minute gifty……?

:) Actually, Dotster, the parts I watched today reminded me of why I don’t watch football any more. I am always yelling advice and instructions, not to mention calling players “Doofus’, when they miss obvious chances or don’t defend/challenge players with the ball as per *my* shouted instructions!
