President Obama is a wonderful human being. We need more citizens of the world like him.

  5. June 23, 2014 at 2:31 pm

What a great speech. You can tell he loves talking about this subject because he’s so relaxed and insistent that we take care of business. MUST SEE.

Indeed meta. And I’m surprised this summit is not trending on Twitter – yet Hillary’s bullchit townhall was trending for hours on end. I think Twitter trends are highly manipulated…

LOL! Nothing beats being in touch with your audience!

Maria Shriver immediately after she’s introduced on the stage at the Working Families Summit: “Good Afternoon! We’re gonna make this quick, ‘cuz no one’s been to the bathroom in about two hours!”

    [Laugher and applause ensues :-D]

I really don’t know how people can hear this man speak passionately and honestly about issues that effect America/ Americans…and not see the goodness of this man. He says what he means, means what he says and does right by America/ Americans, every single day.

Most people – domestically and abroad – DO see his goodness. The media and their sponsored polls do not accurately reflect public perception.

This is truth, Hf. I’ve known people to have a carp or two with some thing the president did or say, but most are on his side. The people I’m closest to–the ones who always step up if a job needs doing—are the ones who love him.

Indeed JG – at the end of the day, the volunteers and public have his back and that pisses off the media/GOP immensely.

I feel the same way, DF! And I have lived under 10 Presidents! I think the problem is that the media filters, or refuses to cover, his speeches. Consequently, most Americans never get to hear him. I wish more Americans visited TOD because they would quickly realize how deceptive and biased the MSM are when it comes to President Obama.

I just sent this text to all of my family and friends in Maryland. (it took me forever  to type this on that little keypad but at last I was successful)

Tomorrow is primary election day in MD. Your vote is your voice. Honor those who fought and died for our freedom to cast a vote. There is nothing more important tomorrow than exercising this civic duty. If you need a ride or someone to watch your kids just give me a call.

    The Boomerang Kids Won’t Leave

By Adam Davidson, New York Times Magazine – June 23, 2014

Annie Kasinecz has two different ways of explaining why, at age 27, she still lives with her mom. In the first version — the optimistic one — she says that she is doing the sensible thing by living rent-free as she plans her next career move. After graduating from Loyola University Chicago, Kasinecz struggled to support herself in the midst of the recession, working a series of unsatisfying jobs — selling ads at the soon-to-be bankrupt Sun-Times, bagging groceries at Whole Foods, bartending — in order to pay down her student loans. But she inevitably grew frustrated with each job and found herself stuck in one financial mess after another. Now that she’s back in her high-school bedroom, perhaps she can finally focus on her long-term goals.

But in the second version — the bleaker one — Kasinecz admits that she fears that her mom’s house in Downers Grove, Ill., half an hour west of the city, has become a crutch. She has been living in that old bedroom for four years and is nowhere closer to figuring out what she’s going to do with her career. “Everyone tells me to just pick something,” she says, “but I don’t know what to pick.”

One in five people in their 20s and early 30s is currently living with his or her parents. And 60 percent of all young adults receive financial support from them. That’s a significant increase from a generation ago, when only one in 10 young adults moved back home and few received financial support. The common explanation for the shift is that people born in the late 1980s and early 1990s came of age amid several unfortunate and overlapping economic trends. Those who graduated college as the housing market and financial system were imploding faced the highest debt burden of any graduating class in history. Nearly 45 percent of 25-year-olds, for instance, have outstanding loans, with an average debt above $20,000. (Kasinecz still has about $60,000 to go.) And more than half of recent college graduates are unemployed or underemployed, meaning they make substandard wages in jobs that don’t require a college degree. According to Lisa B. Kahn, an economist at Yale University, the negative impact of graduating into a recession never fully disappears. Even 20 years later, the people who graduated into the recession of the early ’80s were making substantially less money than people lucky enough to have graduated a few years afterward, when the economy was booming.

‘Human beings are the only creatures on earth that allow their children to come back home.’ ~ Bill Cosby

      • June 23, 2014 at 6:27 pm

I graduated from college in early 1980’s right when Reagan started his attack on the middle class. The economy was the pitts and there were no jobs for anyone for about two years. I finally got a decent job in 1985 that started my career using what I went to college for…accounting. It was another six years before a got a job that paid enough to buy my first place a condo. Unfortunately that was wen the real estate market took a dive and I was upside down on my mortgage for almost ten years. It was OK since I was buying a home and to build wealth. Now that I have less than ten years to pay off my mortgage the job market is worst than in 1982 and 1990. It seems my whole adult career has been a roller coaster of hard time compared to folks who graduated two years before me. Most of them were able to retire early and enjoy life.

Rikyrah, I remember seeing a Bill Cosby performance live and he told the story of his daughter’s college graduation day. On the way home from the graduation he saw his daughter’s car following his. He pulled over and asked her where she was going and she told him she was going to live at home. The skit was about telling her to turn around and his despair when she didn’t. It was very funny at the time because, fortunately, our kids had different ideas.

Listening to the Washington Journal this AM today, One caller called in and said that Rushbo’s presence on the airwaves was detrimental for the nation and especially Congress. The caller said getting rid of Rusbo would be best for the survival of our nation. Congress can finally get things done. I chucked and agreed.

Wow…..per Mediaite now, Rusbo has responded.

    This was ONE caller.

Rushbo is afraid of ONE caller that he has to use the airwaves to respond? Wow. The man has a Trump complex. What an insecure idiot. He always punches, no matter what. That is a sign of weakness.

PBO and MO are the ultimate cool kids who know who they are, are comfortable with who they are and do not want to be anyone else. The haters know it and are jealous of it; they want to be part of their group, but too bad for them. Liars, bullies, and would-be overlords are not welcome. PBO and MO kept their word and made the White House truly the People’s House, made his administration of the people, by the people and for the people, and literally opened their arms to everyday people and to the least of them. They make me feel more of a full citizen of these United States of America than I have ever felt in all of my 60 years. They are who we have been waiting for and the great joke is that they come clothed in the skin that has long been despised in this country. God does have a sense of humor.

PS. I love when the Bear is loose, but I’ll bet the SS is not thrilled about it. Do you recall the agent whose hand went into his jacket at the approach of the 2 young men (I think they were Australian) who ran across the street to meet him the first that that the Bear went for a stroll?

Well said CEB! I am a few years older than you, but PBO’s White House has truly been the people’s WH! POTUS and FLOTUS have welcomed people from all walks of life and bestowed honors to ordinary people who are doing extraordinary things. This country is also blessed to have President Obama and Vice-President Biden, two compassionate and people persons, at head of the government.
