      Gooooooood morning Tnmtngirl!

      • June 24, 2014 at 7:39 am

I was doing my early morning icing on my back so was a “captive audience.” Good day filled with blessings for all. This morning is my food pantry day so I won’t be around until afternoon.

        • June 24, 2014 at 7:42 am

Tn, what does it mean to do “icing on your back”? It sounds intriguing. Have a great day at the pantry–you do good work.

          • June 24, 2014 at 7:52 am

Jackie, I wanted to ask about the back-icing, but resisted!!

            • June 24, 2014 at 7:57 am

Lying on ice for my bad back. :) I don’t think it is helping but I do it faithfully 3 times a day. Lots of strengthening exercises and stretches. Have MRI scheduled for next Wednesday. The sacroiliac muscle is the main source of my problem……..creating pain in my leg. Other issues showed on x-ray so looks like a combination of things. UGH!!!!!!!!

Good luck with the MRI. I have constant back problems, but never thought to use ice. Yikes.

              • June 24, 2014 at 8:07 am

Oh yikes, you poor thing, Tnmtngirl, I can’t imagine how awful persistent back pain must be, I’m sure it’s hugely debilitating. Best of luck with the scan, I hope they can fix the problem for you VERY soon.

Bought a jetted tub for my very large, VERY banged up/scarred, ex-construction worker partner. Best 800bucks I ever spent, tnmtngirl. Haven’t heard about the ice treatment, but anything that will help is worth a try. Keeping fingers crossed for your MRI. (Just for laughs, partner had two. He was to big to get the whole picture, so they put him through twice. It was a hoot!)

                • June 24, 2014 at 8:42 am

re MRI> I could have had it tomorrow but it would have been a closed machine. So I chose to wait a week to have it done in an open machine.

I know exactly how you feel, TN. The closed ones give me the fits. I had to have my husband hold my ankle the last time. It was the thing that tied me to the outside world.

Definitely understand the preference for the open machine, tnmtngirl. The mere thought of the closed machine would send me screaming into the night. Wishing you all the best and your walkabout hubby, too.

Closed or open, I have panic attacks. They have to give me something to take before hand. I am the worse patient when it comes to MRI’s or CT scans.

              • June 24, 2014 at 8:30 am

Good luck with your MRI and hopefully they will diagnose the problem so you can get some real relief and healing. I had a big problem with my SI joint after my youngest was born and found osteopathic manipulation worked wonders. It is not like chiropractic adjustments–more stretching and massage. I still get occasional twinges but my joint is in place and much healthier now. The leg pain–well that is the worst so I know what a brave face you are putting on this. Again, I send you my best and hope you find some healing and relief!!

Good luck to all the Dem candidates in states that have primaries today. Hope the turnout is decent and our favorite candidates win. Have another “dental analysis” today–this one from high priced ‘expert.’ At this point I just want the darned thing pulled. I remember when the dentist you went to did everything–filled cavities, x-rayed, pulled teeth, made fake ones. Now there are ‘specialists’ for everything. What does it tell you about yourself when you keep remembering the “olden days”?

I’m just not sure what this means. I’m reading conflicting reports that AA’s are coming out to vote for Cochran. Why would they involve themselves in this runoff if this is true???? Also, there is talk of blacks potentially being intimidated by “poll workers”. This doesn’t make any sense to me.

      • 25 jackiegrumbacher
        June 24, 2014 at 9:18 am

Cochran is exploiting AA voters by telling them how bad his tea party opponent will be for them. Of course, if he wins, he will promptly forget what he owes to these voters. Mississippi Dems have convinced themselves they can’t win, so rather than come out in force for the Dems and ensure a win, they’re trying to get the least of two very, very bad evils.

          June 24, 2014 at 9:42 am

Wow! No matter who wins in Miss they are only one vote in the Senate. Both are bad choices. Dems are fools IMO to get involved in this runoff. They should stay out of this mess and work to register instead Dem voters to beat the Repubs this November.

I’ll never understand our apathy to register and educate voters in states like South Carolina, Mississippi and Georgia. There are hundreds of thousands of unregistered minorities in these states. We could win every statewide election if we could just get these people registered and to the polls to vote. Sigh!!!!

GULFPORT, MISS. — Gary Fredericks calls himself a proud black Mississippi Democrat, but on Tuesday, he will vote Republican.

His choice: Thad Cochran, the six-term senator who is fighting for his political life in a primary runoff against tea party state Sen. Chris McDaniel.

“I look at what’s best for Mississippi,” said Mr. Fredericks, holding a Thad Cochran sign at a rally Sunday for the senator at the Gulfport-Biloxi airport. “Senator Cochran delivers for our state, and the tea party wants that to end.”

        hello Donna….

there is a complexity about the South…that explains why a blk person in Mississippi would vote for any GOP rep and same complexity that explains why a white person continues to vote against their own interest by voting for GOP…2 sides of the same coin…

Let’s Taco ‘Bout It: Obama Chows Down at Chipotle

// The bear is on the loose, and he’s apparently hungry for fast-casual Mexican.

President Barack Obama – who’s recently been venturing outside the usual White House bubble for coffee and burger stops around the city – popped into a Washington D.C. Chipotle Monday on his way to a forum on working families. He enjoyed the burrito joint’s cuisine with several working parents participating in the event, per the White House pool. //

Back from lots of fun extended weekend with kids and gr-kids at picturesque Wi. lake. Weather turned out much better than forecast and everyone enjoyed all the summer outdoor activities—-boating, swimming, tennis, kayaking, golfing, mini-golfing, hiking, outdoor dining, bonfiring—-with smores!, karaokeing (?), even bicycling on a pontoon boat thingy (1 ambitious daughter)——whew! And through bleary eyes I return to find President Obama still great and adorable, nonshockingly——love his stated perk of everyone handing him their baby. He’s the Best Person in the World, no contest.

Donna, first, this area needs help from FEMA because it is a disaster for the residents, not to mention inhumane. Then every single one of those 150,000 people had better register to vote and line up to oust Rick Snyder in November. These despicable, heartless governors have got to go–en masse– and never again be in a position where they are responsible for ‘governing’ anything.

This is unconscionable to me. Here in the DC area if you get behind on your water bill they put a lien on the property but they DO NOT ever cut off the water for non-payment (unless the building is abandoned) because it’s considered a health issue. I thought this was a common practice throughout the country but I guess not.

I so dislike seeing lists of what one must NOT do – regardless that I might agree with such do nots (no smoking, no pets, no guns). I’ve not seen such signs at my polling booths – yet nobody smokes, brings their pets or heaven forbid their guns.

As for the id & time limit on voting! The mind truly boggles. We have a somewhat weird system of voting for senators where each candidate has to be given a number – sometimes there are over 100 candidates. Once I numbered them all – got to the end & discovered I had given 2 the same number – had to get another ballot & start over – think I was there for 15 minutes that day!

The inquiries into securities law violations focus on a period of 2010 and 2011 when Gov. Chris Christie’s administration pressed the Port Authority to pay for extensive repairs to the Skyway and related road projects, diverting money that was to be used on a new Hudson River rail tunnel that Mr. Christie canceled in October 2010.

it does get hot and I clean it regularly… however, I’ve had to put a new fan in twice in the past 2 years- same guy installed them- second one was free since the first one was still under warranty.. thing is, previously I got a warning that my fan was overheating.. this time no.. in the blue screen it has mentioned ‘acpt or acpi incompatibility.

ps, I don’t know how to store passwords in my computer.. and if I get rid of Norton.. what to use for security protection? After removing norton, restart the computer. Download microsoft security essentials. (note that mse will install only your operating system is original. If the os is pirated, it will not install). mse is more than enough to keep your computer protected.
