Grant Park Chgo looks like they are packed in there like sardines——-even tho no alcoholic beverages are available or allowed—–officials said they didn’t think it was necessary to even consider it because of the “early hour”——-which we laughed about at my house.

  24. 47 Linda
    June 26, 2014 at 1:15 pm

The Supreme Court has just made a mockery out of the US Senate.

Basically what they have done is say that the Senate is NEVER in recess, not ever. By allowing Pro Forma sessions to continue and also saying the Senate must be in recess at least 10 days for a President to appoint a nominee during recess means that they have stopped recess appointments all together.

    • 48 Nena20409
      June 26, 2014 at 1:27 pm

      Not quite accurate.

The Pro Forma sessions have were not used as much until now. But because the House is under Boehner, he refuses to yield and has worked with McConnell to stop the senate from ever being in Recess.

If Dems were controlling the House, there would never have been an issue. The GOP has been using rules hardly ever used to decimate the Workings of the Executive, They started in Dec 2008. VP Biden was aware of it so was POTUS. They just didn’t believe how nasty and Vindictive the GOP of today has become…..

      • 49 Linda
        June 26, 2014 at 1:51 pm

Harry Reid started using Pro Forma regularly after Bush appointed John Bolton to the UN in 2007.

        • 50 Nena20409
          June 26, 2014 at 1:59 pm

But for that to have worked, Speaker Pelosi Never Objected. Today Rusty Boehner is working in unison with McConnell to deny POTUS any chance to get his nominees through when Congress is in Recess.

          • 51 Linda
            June 26, 2014 at 2:11 pm

I guess I learned something new…. I always thought it was just the Senate that mattered since only the Senate can confirm nominees.

            • 52 Nena20409
              June 26, 2014 at 2:46 pm

Nope. It used to be that way……until McConnell started working with John Boehner to insist on a rule that was NEVER in modern times to deny any POTUS his/her ability to appoint a nominee during a Congressional Recess. What burns me is that the abuses by the GOP are Never reported accurately and with Dems not drumming these abuses as loudly as possible, the GOP’s obstruction is Never wildly known and their hunger to continue the abusive behavior intensifies.

Crude Boehner has announced that he is suing POTUS.

    Dems have loads of Lawyers.

Then Boehner can be sued for 4X now having cost US 24B last Aug, threatening shut down in Feb/Mar of 2013, March of 2011 and Dec of 2012.

How about his ability to deny Health Care for Millions of Americans. Boehner should be sued. How about those who ran out of their Unemployment Insurance coverage? They should sue Boehner for the harm he and his party inflicted on them. Etc.

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/06/26/sam-brownback-poll-_n_5533515.html?utm_hp_ref=politics#comments

Kansas Gov. Sam Brownback (R) is feeling some heat over his support for income tax cuts that have resulted in dramatic revenue decreases and budget shortfalls.

A SurveyUSA poll released Tuesday has Brownback seven percentage points behind his presumed Democratic challenger, attorney and former state House Minority Leader Paul Davis. The poll found Davis leading Brownback 47 percent to 41 percent. If the general election were held today, one in four registered Republicans would vote for Davis.

Davis told 41 Action News that the poll’s results reflect Brownback’s unpopularity.

“There’s a great deal of dissatisfaction with the governor and the direction that he’s been leading the state,” Davis said.
    ///////

Great News. I hope KS wakes up and Clean House in Nov 2014.

    • June 26, 2014 at 3:52 pm

I hope people understand that if they keep giving tax cuts to corporations their state or cities will end up like Detroit…first they make you bankrupt, selloff any valuable property to their GOP buddies, then put the major tax burden on the middle class until they leave only the poor then the poor will have no electricity, no water, no rights. This is the only thing GOP Governors know.
