Thank you! Luv myself some Bobby Womack : )
Chile equalizes. Now, we are talking.
Remind me not to go pee before halftime. Missed Chile’s goal.
I’ve missed about 26% of World Cup goals by doing just that.
Julio Cesar: Good enough to play for Brazil, but dumped by QPR. Um, what?— Liberal Librarian (@Lib_Librarian) June 28, 2014
neymar fucks it up.
great save by chilean goalie.
Wow, this is tough for practicing Muslims at the World Cup:
Ramadan, which begins this weekend, is widely observed by Muslims around the world with fasting from sunrise until sundown. That creates a potential dilemma for Muslim players at the World Cup whose teams have advanced to the knockout stage of the tournament, as the ninth month of the Islamic calendar and the World Cup overlap for the first time since 1986.
I thought there were exemptions from the fast.
I don’t know LL, but I remember it being an issue in club football before.
brazilians are obviously better than the scoreline indicates.
Aren’t we all.
yes, their wimmin are hawt.
now it is the turn of sanchez to eff it up.

perfect first half befitting the world cup.
WORLD EXCLUSIVE. I've interviewed and seen footage of #ENG fan attacked INSIDE Arena Sao Paulo, and his ear was BITTEN OFF. More to follow.— Stan Collymore (@StanCollymore) June 27, 2014
The story that will unfold in the coming days, the footage will be the biggest story in the UK. I guarantee this. Especially who did it.— Stan Collymore (@StanCollymore) June 27, 2014
And how hasn’t this made, you know, major news media?
Exactly. He’s now saying it’ll be in a tabloid tomorrow, so it’s likely to be a hyped up bunch of nothing:
The @PeopleSport tomorrow. A shocking World Exclusive.— Stan Collymore (@StanCollymore) June 28, 2014
From whence it will be picked up by the Daily Mail on Monday.
Ha, yes – and they’ll steal it for their website the minute the People appears!
It's a no-boner.

I’m at a place that doesn’t show the game. What’s the score?
bravo is living up to his name?
while hulk doesn’t. using your hand?
Woah! Was that handball??
it’s been declared so. from the front view, it’s a um-huh.
Only saw one replay and couldn’t make out if it hit his shoulder or lower.
not much replays after that one.
I think they were trying to avoid riots in the stadium and Webb being lynched.
no wonder there are no replays save one.
I’ve never seen a major incident replayed less!!
also. too. me.
but then brazilians aren’t brits, are they?
:-) True – but they’re rather unforgiving towards refs who deny them a place in the quarter-finals of the World Cup on home turf.
Oh, right, Howard “I Love Fergie” Webb is referee.
Big Phil is pizzed.
chilean have effectively locked up neymar.
I don’t know, that didn’t look like handball.
excellent save by cesar.
chileans are fired up in this half.
And now my ESPN feed is crapping out.
ha, ha, sabc feed is fine.
Ahhh, on the ABC feed now. Much better.
Watching Brazil live on TV while on plane to Recife certainly an experience. Pilot asked fans to stop celebrating because plane was wobbling— Charlie Wyett (@CharlieWyett) June 28, 2014
I feel wobbly myself even thinking about being on that plane :-)
they were doing the mexican wave?
methinls brazilians are rattled a bit. or a lot.
I can feel their nerves from here, gulp.
you better start rooting for chileans.
I’m torn! Heart is with Chile, but always a bit of a bummer when the hosts go out.
you mean like the home ground advantage you have here at tod?
Ha, it’s exactly the same!! :-)

brazil defense sux.
And PSG paid £50m for David Luiz. The mind boggles!
Never doubt Jose’s genius at getting rid of less than optimal players.
I nearly choked on my cheesy puffs when I saw the fee, LL!
Who would’ve thought that emirs have less sense than an oligarch?
extra time. nermar and brazil disappoint.
Ah, looks like the ref got it right, ball seemed to hit the arm alright.
yup, that was the consensus beebs blog also.
Hulk has been the best player for Brazil so far. Wish Neymar was less impressed with his hair, and more focused on trying to help his team to win. I think this game will eventually end up in penalty kicks.
yup, he was da player of the day so far.
Perhaps Neymar Jr. should spend less time making ads for Beats Audio.
not worth all the buzz about.
He’s been so bad today. I had such high hope for him when he joined the game. They need to get him out of the game because he’s been so embarrassingly incompetent so far.
Brazil’s last three World Cup extra-time appearances have all gone to penalties (SF v Netherlands 98 (Won), final v Italy 94 (Won), QF v France 86 (Lost).
weird haircuts + bizarre tattoos + meager talent = footies
another good effort by hulk. the dood is just unlucky.
Iraq’s army routs Sunni militants during a major offensive on the northern city of Tikrit, state media say, but the insurgents deny the claim.
come on sanchez.
why are the other toddys silent today?
Nothing to say, worth saying?
USA is not playing.
Well, shit! Just proved a point, didn’t I?? :) :) Yea, me!!! ( To think I HAVE my glasses on!)
chilean defence has been good today.

well, chile deserves to win.
Who has two thumbs and likes penalty shootouts? This guy!
omg. chile hits the cross.

Dudette…took the Pew Research Quiz too. I also am Solid Liberal…..we are only 15% of the population, statistically. Yet, our views on each subject tally with the majority on each individual subject. The difference, I believe, looking at the analysis, is that others have the Liberal viewpoint on individual topics, but not over all. But, as you or df said, more people think liberally on each subject than the press leads people to believe. For instance, I think my husband, who is an FDR progressive, would have answered one or two questions differently from what I did.
Someone else who took the quiz said, not only Solid Liberal, but Proud, Solid Liberal. I need to memorize JFK’s answer when asked if he was a liberal. Yes, he said, If being a liberal means………I forget the specific points, but I liked his definition.
Excellent point carolyn. I agree with you completely. I too am a PROUD Solid Liberal.
Moment of cuteness:
This doesn’t necessarily make me want to buy the car, but I would find a place for Lady. :-)
