    http://talkingpointsmemo.com/dc/chris-mcdaniel-plan-challenge-runoff-results-thad-cochran

Supporters of Mississippi state Sen. Chris McDaniel (R) are hinting at a specific plan to cast doubt about the results of the primary runoff election in which he lost to incumbent Sen. Thad Cochran (R-MS), even if the state has no provision for triggering a recount of the election.

Noel Fritsch, McDaniel’s press secretary, told the conservative Daily Caller in a report published on Monday that McDaniel’s campaign and his supporters had already found 1,500 invalid votes in Hinds County (which went for Cochran, who McDaniel challenged, in both the initial primary and the runoff). McDaniel supporters claimed that they can force a new runoff if they prove that a significant amount of the votes that separated Cochran and McDaniel were invalid.

“We don’t have to prove that we have 7,000 [invalid] votes … all there needs to be is enough doubt about the election, and we’re confident about that,” Fritsch said.

Corrupt Congress Secretly Kills Rule Requiring Them To Disclose Free Trips From Lobbyists

The House Ethics Committee is different from other committees because it contains an equal number of Republicans and Democrats. This is a change that at least one Democrat on the committee had to agree to, but no one on either side is talking. There is no good reason of the Ethics Committee to reduce transparency, but that is exactly what they have done. Even worse, they were secretive about the change. The Ethics Committee met in private, and issued no public statement.

1)Serena Williams suffered a dizzy spell from what was thought to be a viral infection and had to drop out of the tennis doubles today.
        2) Rafa loses
        3) USA is eliminated in World Cup
        4) Chuck Todd sez that all three above are bad news for Obama and good news for the GOP going into the midterms.

I honestly believe that what the president is doing right now with his aggressive takedown of the GOP is modeling behavior he wants us to follow. Whenever he has done things in the past-stopping in to make calls at a phone bank, canvassing a random neighborhood to knock on doors, held meetings with small groups in restaurants or sometimes homes, and delivered specific messages, he was showing us what to do. He is a natural teacher as well as a community organizer and he’s saying to us-this is what I need from you now-fierce determination; relentless calling out of those who are doing damage (no beating around the bush with niceties) and constant voter outreach. It’s no accident that we feel inspired when he does this because he’s calling to something in us. Don’t sit back; stand up and speak them out; talk to people; enable them to become active too. This morning I wrote a call to arms to the more than 2000 people on our local newsletter mailing list-a list that includes all the members of the local Democratic Committee. I told them why anger is needed right now and I urged them to direct that anger to electing Democrats. We are all being educated by the political genius known as President Barack Obama. It’s a priceless education we need to make the most of our lessons.

Significant change in strategy by President Poroshenko - not only has he suspended the unilateral cease-fire, for the first time since Russia’s invasion began (months ago), today Ukrainian State Border Service has restored control over of the Dolzhansky checkpoint and restored its work. This is significant because that checkpoint is a mere 500 meters from the Ukrainian, Russian border.

As folk at The Interpreter just noted (http://pressimus.com/Interpreter_Mag/press/3233) President Poroshenko is truly calling #TzarVlad’s bluff. If Vlad doesn’t advance on that checkpoint, the message to the mercs and other assorted terrorists operating in the Donbass will be clear, he’s not prepared to escalate to what would be unassailable war.

A Facebook post to Hobby Lobby:

“You never actually lost your religious freedom. You’ve deprived your employees of a benefit that you don’t have to administer yourselves, and that they can get from any one of your competitors. Your beliefs were never threatened, just your ability to impose those beliefs on your employees to their detriment. Here’s wishing you reap the whirlwind of your misguided views.”

    http://talkingpointsmemo.com/livewire/poll-rick-snyder-terri-lynn-land-gary-peters-mark-schauer

A new Public Policy Polling survey found fairly good news for Democrats in Michigan: Mark Schauer, the gubernatorial candidate, is tied with Gov. Rick Snyder (R) while Rep. Gary Peters (D) leads former Secretary of State Terri Lynn Land (R) in the race for U.S. Senate.

But there’s another notable finding in the poll results: both Republican candidates’ unfavorables are higher than their favorables and also higher than their Democratic opponents’ unfavorables.

The poll found Snyder (pictured) tied with Schauer with each getting 40 percent while the remaining 20 percent said they were not sure. In the Senate race, Peters got 41 percent while Land got 36 percent. The remaining 24 percent said they were not sure.

    Damn, Pierce is good:

So there really isn’t any excuse any more.

I occasionally get chaffed by folks for giving out civics lessons but, seriously, we get the government we deserve. The Founders, and those brave people who came later, a group that certainly includes the three Mississippi martyrs and thousands more whose names we don’t know, made sacrifices that leave us no alibis. If you live in a state that has restricted the franchise, and that has erected hoops through which you have to jump, then learn how to jump through the hoops and break down those barriers by flooding the polls. If you don’t live in a state where it has been made more difficult to vote, then get off your sorry ass.
