If you check the times, Chips Chica, you’ll see that you locked me out for close to TWO hours!!! A bit harsh, don’t you think? First I was frozen out for forever, then when I was ‘unfroze’ I kept getting ‘Page not found”. Know however that you will not get rid of me that easily. Just saying. Now off to see what the discussion on this thread has all been about….at least until I get kicked out again. :(

In an unusually harsh major foreign policy address, Philip Gordon, a special assistant to US President Barack Obama and the White House coordinator for the Middle East, appealed to Israeli and Palestinian leaders to make the compromises needed to reach a permanent peace agreement. Jerusalem “should not take for granted the opportunity to negotiate” such a treaty with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, who has proven to be a reliable partner, Gordon said.

“Israel confronts an undeniable reality: It cannot maintain military control of another people indefinitely. Doing so is not only wrong but a recipe for resentment and recurring instability,” Gordon said. “It will embolden extremists on both sides, tear at Israel’s democratic fabric and feed mutual dehumanization.”…….continued

An attorney friend of mine Roberta was all salt at the ripe old age of 31.

He got his first patch of gray at the age of 9 in the top of his head; 1/2 gray by 21 and fully grey at 31. He said it was in his family line. He had such a “baby face” so it didn’t make him look older.

Roberta, didn’t you hear POTUS say that his Grandfather was gray at 39 or something? I believe the last time he talk to Kelly and Michael they discuss the gray hair, he’s saying he turn gray so early because of genes .

Anyway the Republicans didn’t have anything to do with the gray hair. I imagine plenty of nights POTUS and FLOTUS sit on the Thurman balcony and laugh at those crazy ass racists Republicans

        • July 8, 2014 at 10:13 pm

I know a guy who was salt and pepper at 22 -23yrs old. By the time he reached his 30’s his hair was completely white. His mother and father greyed early. All Presidents came into office either partially grey and came out of office completely grey except Raygun. Raygun was so vain that we all know he died his hair. In 1975 I remember personally seeing him in Hollywood before he announced his presidency and he was fully grey with very little color. I recall because he walked right by me and if it was not for the parking lot attendant I would have not known who he was. That was when the Hollywood Brown Derby was still there and RR and some other folks were coming from. I worked part time at The Broadway on Hollywood and Vine. When I saw him next his hair was dark. When reporters started asking if he died his hair there was a lot of push back.

When we went to get passports for the first time, my husband was 47. This was back when we went downtown to the courthouse and applied in person, and our hair color had to be detailed, because the picture was black/white. My husband was asked what color his hair was….he looked at the woman asking and said: What color do you think it is? She answered “gray.” He was taken aback, but had to admit she was right. So, since then he was officially gray, and looked really good. Now his hair is white, and he still looks good. His parents grayed early too.
I notice Michelle’s hair is not gray at all, and neither is her mother’s. It all depends on how we choose our ancestors! I should be gray by the calendar, but I’m not…..thanks to certain ancestors.

I figured you would have that reaction…….The American overlords (I mean Glazers) are lurking :)

…..your going to be back w/ Adidas also. They are ponying up 100 million a year….Nike said no thanks. To put that in perspective the entire NBA gets 35 million for their 30 basketball teams combined!

Waaaaaaaay prefer Adidas kits to Nike, so for that reason alone: I’m happy!!

Still, struck me as an odd decision by Nike at the start of the inevitably all-conquering van Gaal era

Months of talks between Nike and the Premier League club to extend its 13-year kit deal ended with a statement from the US company saying the terms on offer “did not represent good value for Nike’s shareholders” and that its relationship would end after next season. Nike was given a period of exclusivity to extend the deal, but when this expired United approached rival companies. It still had the right to match any competing offer but has now decided not to exercise that option. United declined to comment and Adidas did not return calls. If United does conclude a deal with Adidas, it is likely to be the biggest in football and worth more than double Real Madrid’s deal with the company…..

            • July 8, 2014 at 8:31 pm

For all the talk about the NBA being a “billionaire’s club”, the owners are complete pikers compared to top global football leagues. If US sports teams made individual deals for uniforms, etc., they could clean up. But, the laughable irony is that US sports leagues are the final real surviving examples of socialism: profit sharing, risk sharing, team parity. MLB is the exception to a certain extent.

Nothing has changed by Fox since 2008 when it dawned on them that Sen Hillary R. Clinton was going to best then Sen Obama. Their madness intensified on Jan 20th, 2009 and two of their VPs, one named Clemente, declared Fox the OPPOSITION to pres Obama in 2009 and in 2010. They have done what no recent Medium using News as a Facade in blatantly using propaganda to Mind Control a segment of the population and worse, totally decimating the Function of a Factually based News Media as envisioned by the Founding Fathers.

      Hi Nena20409,
I do hope that you are having a wonderful evening.

I listened to some of those people in Murrieta and they have some hate filled hearts. The reporter asked one of the guys about something and he said; President Obama is a Muslim and I don’t like him, it had nothing to do with the question.

      The are shamelessly “IGNORANT.”

How sad it is to have so much hate in your heart; to yell at women and children. To say so many ugly things. The world is filled with ignorant people, hateful and mean spirited individuals.

How do they close their eyes at night and rest?

I’ve dealt with my share of them as a child; teenager, young adult and a mature adult, and I am so grateful that in spite of the pain that tore into the fabric of my soul and spirit, God kept is hand on my heart.

What a way to die-hate in your heart towards another human life. What a wasted time of living,

There is nothing in Murrieta, CA but a lot of retired people and in my opinion It is just a west coast Florida. It is hot as hell in the summer and cold in winter. I think that the Federal Govt should remove whatever facility from there to another city. Glad to know this is hatred central. I would say boycott the city but there is nothing there.

      Hi anniebella,
I hope that your day has gone well for you.

The local stations here, are screaming the repukes talking points; the President need to go to the border to see the problem, he needs to show that he is leading, he needs to “look” at the problem.

The President and his Administration are not going to be bullied into doing this just because the media and repukes are screaming marching orders. They want to get a picture of him the way Georgie B. was captured in the airplane; looking at the problem and doing nothing.

This is nothing more than a bunch of vociferous repukes shifting the border blame on the President to cover up their own inability to get things done on immigration. We don’t need to do anything but blame the President; shout it loud, employ the help of the media, and the people will be mad with the President. Same song and dance.

They want nothing more than for President Obama to be lumped in with George B; failure over here, failure over there, failure everywhere.

Please don’t take the nonsense they spout seriously. They have a 24/hr news cycle to fill and since they alot a very small amount of that time to PBO’s actual speeches and statements, they have to fill the void with mindless chatter. These are the same people slamming PBO for not using nuclear weapons to stop the Gulf Oil Spill early in his Presidency (look it up). PBO has earned my trust by being proven correct time and time again, just as these pundits have earned my disregard by being proven wrong time and again.

It’s always strange when a piece you wrote two years ago suddenly surges to the day’s “most read” list, but that’s exactly what is happening with a post I wrote in February 2012 titled “Obama Punks the GOP on Contraception.” The piece was about how the Obama administration allowed the right-wing media to work itself into a frenzy over the requirement that religiously affiliated nonprofits provide health care benefits that included contraception, and how the administration then came up with a compromise allowing the institutions to fill out a form opting out, requiring insurance companies to cover the contraception directly. At the time, I argued that this was a genius political move by Obama. “He drew this out for two weeks, letting Republicans work themselves into a frenzy of anti-contraception rhetoric, all thinly disguised as concern for religious liberty, and then created a compromise that addressed their purported concerns but without actually reducing women’s access to contraception, which is what this has always been about.”

Conservatives, I added, “can either drop this and slink away knowing they’ve been punked, or they can double down. But in order to do so, they’ll have to be more blatantly anti-contraception, a politically toxic move in a country where 99% of women have used contraception.” Two years later, it’s clear they chose “doubling down.”…….continued

Brazilian police have cracked an alleged ticket-scalping ring that experts say could have ties to senior people in scandal-plagued FIFA, soccer’s governing body, and be worth as much as $96-million for this World Cup alone. And they have done it almost in spite of themselves. The resale of World Cup hospitality tickets – those bought by corporations, or given to national organizations and sponsors – through a chain of criminals has been widely suspected for years. International police forces, including Scotland Yard, have tried to crack it.

But when the scam was finally broken open, it was by low-level investigators at a tiny local Rio police station, who had no idea what they had stumbled upon, and had to rely on journalists to explain who some of the key figures were. “How did a bunch of pé rapado policemen from Brazil do it?” the inspector in charge of the operation asked rhetorically on Monday, using a slang expression that means “shaved foot,” or poor. He uttered an expletive and shrugged. “I don’t know!”

Twelve people have so far been arrested, including Mohamadou Lamine Fofana, a man identified as a French-Algerian national who police initially believed was the kingpin. But on Monday, police arrested British national Raymond Whelan from the swanky Copacabana Palace, where he was staying alongside top FIFA officials, including president Sepp Blatter. The inspector, who asked not to be named, said that at least seven other people are still under investigation in the scam…..continued

Hello my TOD family. Thanks again, Nerdy W., for your beautiful photos and great work. You are such a beautiful soul who give Chips and all of us such a joy to be in your presence here. I thank you so much.

I allowed LOD to get to me, but I was not expecting it from him. So I wrote my thoughts and got quiet to myself. I came away with these thoughts. PBO is not a man who will waste his precious time on what the lazy media folks are trying to paint him as the ‘none caring president.’ PBO has always moved with much measured wisdom that will solve the problems for the people with a fresh set of eyes. He does not look to solve the problems that come to his desk with old stale thinking that got us in the problems path in the first place. So while the media is yelling about what he should be doing; he has already pulled his team together and allowed them to speak while he listens, and he then moves with intelligent, compassionate, and brilliant urgency to help solve the problem. He does not get on tv and jump all over the place without the facts. Remember, this from a Press Conference to Ed Henry: ” Because I like to know what I am talking about before I speak.” Gavel Down!.

I am totally like it when he listens; then he pauses, and then he is in full action mode. I like my presidents like that. He brings the concerns to his brilliant mind; relax the mode of action(s) and he brilliantly and calmly carry out his solutions. He does his homework and he requires his team to do their homework before approaching him in a hallway for a slap on the back with some empty words of, “You are doing a great job………” PBO is a President who knows that for every problems he is and will encounter; his mind, heart, and soul will have to be able to stand with integrity before the people that he made the right decision for all. His core is stable.

    #TogetherWeCan.

I love my TOD family. Oh, I had a wonderful representative come to my home to make some changes to my blinds in several room. We had a wonderful time choosing fabrics, colors, and styles. Then we started talking about POB(he started,) and we had a great time. We spoke about the importance of getting our family, friends, and neighbors out to vote in Nov. It was so wonderful. There are so many people out there who know what POB has done and is doing. This gentleman was one of those. Plus, I am so excited about my choices with the blinds. More suitable for my medical conditions, as well as my budget. Lovely day in all things. HZ
