Good Morning Chips and TOD.
Lines around the block waiting to see President Obama speak at noon today at Paramount Theatre #ObamaTX http://t.co/0n4M2O811d— Adam Bennett (@AdamBennettTV) July 10, 2014
Sad, I live ten minutes outside of Austin and I thought the President came to Austin yesterday.
That moment President Barack Obama realizes he just met the dumbest man in Texas, and his name is @GovernorPerry. http://t.co/IP4U8TrU2e— Nerdy Wonka (@NerdyWonka) July 10, 2014
I can’t get enough of seeing this pic. It truly is Priceless!!
WOW! That is the funniest pic. I would really love to know what was happening when that photo was snapped–although my imagination is coming up with some awfully funny scenarios.
OMG – hilarious!! Molly Ivins, Ann Richardson, & Barbara Jordan are smiling down on our President with Governor Dumbass. Dan Rather should come up with a Texas aphorism for that scene.
Another fantastic version of the Grumpy Perry pic:

Ha, that is FANTASTIC GB!!!!!
GB, so clever :-)
Hi GOB. This is priceless. Perry fits right in with the joyless diner crew in the Hopper painting. Life passes some people by because they are not capable of seizing happiness. Life passes Perry by because he just doesn’t get it.
Nope, he doesn’t.
Live Cheat by the penalties. Die by the penalties. Karma never fails.
Good West Coast morning Chipsticks & TOD family.
Ha, we didn’t have many of them yesterday GGail!! Moooooorning Soccer Nut!
But such a dramatic ending.
Messi, Messi, Messi !!!
UR at it kinda early Mamacita.
I was surprised to c u so early in the morning Sailor, GM!
GM back atcha. Up early to get my other eye fixed cya later.
Prayers for success sir.
Top of the morning. Off to the eye Doc bbl. Have a good day. :)
Praying for the best outcome…YARD!
I receive that pretty. cya!
Good luck with that – eye docs are my least favorite medicos – mainly because of the never ending wait wait – and the excessive cost. I guess eyes are important – cause we wait and pay.
Oh, 99ts, it’s a tough competition for least favorite. The eye doctor doesn’t come close to the audiologist for me because I hate, hate, hate having hearing tests with their always depressing results. But this week, the very top of my list is the dental surgeon. Next month it will be my GP. I always have warm feelings about doctors when I don’t visit them.
“I always have warm feelings about doctors when I don’t visit them” – Isn’t that so true!
I do, however, love my GP – the rest I would like to avoid.
Do hope things are recovering on the tooth front. I look back in fondness at the years 20-50 when everything seemed to work and doctors were the parents problems!
And of course, I should have said – hope it all goes well – take care
Thanks Trish. I got lucky, I’m in a “no wait” section. ;)
A little bit of heaven at the doctors :)
Best of luck, to you sailor.
You’ll be seeing better than any of us after your surgery (I’ve mentioned before that a former co-worker couldn’t stop talking about how clear his vision was after cataract surgery. I think it must be like the first time us four-eyes got glasses — wow, I can see individual blades of grass now!)
Hope you’re seeing perfectly after this eye work. We need you around here!
Maybe I’m seeing something that wasn’t there, but yesterday President Obama used Gov. Perry to beat back all of his critics clamoring for him to do something about the crisis at the border. I’m starting to wonder if President Obama is really this good. In one twenty-minute press conference President put Gov. Perry and the entire Texas delegation and the Republican Party in a box. If they approve the supplement then President Obama would be credited with solving border crisis, if they deny the supplement then the Republican Party will look like partisan hacks. I really shouldn’t be shocked at what happened yesterday, I mean after all, President Obama has been eating the Republican’s lunch since day one.
Sort of like a Chess Master, eh?
Yeah! That’s it, that’s the ticket!
What is always true – President Obama wants a WIN/WIN – he gave all credit to Gov Perry – the media put it as “Gov Perry tells the President what to do” – PBO simply wants the job done – If the GOP in congress helped in anyway what could be achieved is more than most would ever have dreamed.
PBO “eats the Republicans lunch” because they make it for him – they are losing any support they may have had with every passing day. SCOTUS, thinking they are helping the GOP, are actually helping the demise of same.
Don, I have no doubt in the world that the president is that good and then some. He is without peer in political maneuvering and he knows exactly what he’s doing. Perry did not have the smallest clue what he was setting himself up for and he probably still doesn’t. And the president does it all with such a reasonable, pleasant demeanor, it’s as if he’s totally innocent of the jujitsu he employing on them all. Meantime, the GOP and their media arm are left wondering what just happened to them. If Barack Obama had set out to be a professional chess player, he would have become a world champion. So glad he chose the political world instead. He’s playing a master game and we can just all stand in awe of him.
Preach sister! Your comments are perfect, President Obama is cold-blooded. You don’t rise up through the Chicago machine and defeat the Clinton machine and the Republican machine (twice) without being cold-blooded.
Perry meets the President on the tarmac.
The President addresses the elephant in the room, “no need for me to go to the border just for a photo opt, I know what’s happening, I’m interested in results”.
I always think of him as a great poker player (which he is by all accounts). He reads people so well and has a way of upping the ante or calling the bluff at just the right time. Whether chess or poker or both, it is pretty incredible to watch how he keeps playing them.
As someone said…..
Let the Congregation say…..
Hi, PF, hope things are heating up in your area re the election. We’ve got a couple of viable Dem candidates for the state house and I’m praying we can make a big dent in the GOP numbers. A new governor is going to need a legislature that has advanced from the stone age.
I think it’s called rope-a-dope.
It’s also used in Far East martial arts — is it jujitsu where you capitalize on the momentum created by the aggressor against that person, which evens the playing field for tiny persons against giants?
Of course President Obama’s calm demeanor to attacks drives RWNJ even crazier and encourages even more outrageous claims, which sadly are then repeated like the propaganda parrots they have become.
Love the saying, “give ‘em enough rope…”
In Brooklyn, when I was growing up (dinosaurs still were roaming the earth) we had an expression ‘laying chickie” which roughly translated meant “ambush.”
That ancient expression deeply buried in my memory came back to me in 2007 when I observed Senator Obama’s manner of dealing with one opponent after another.
Good luck to any and all who oppose Our President. They will lose.
Egg sackly, Don. Brilliant President demonstrating his superior skills once again. A thing of beauty.
He really is that good. And he did with such ease and aplomb that it may take some time for the media and the GOP to realize what just happened. They are not quick studies. This sentence pretty much sums up yesterday.

He told Dem donors he has wistful memories of Austin. He remembers as a candidate just walking into a local honky-tonk & singing on stage.— Mark Knoller (@markknoller) July 10, 2014
Knoller is such a dick.
In two and a half years he can go back to the honky -tonk and sing on stage. Maybe he could go on the show, So you think you can sing? Oh I’m sorry that’s so you think you can dance?
I go away for two days and I return to blue boxes under each comment. I hate being late, but I humbly ask can someone tell me what the blue boxes are about?
GM Don and TOD. If you like the post you click it.
I men click the blue star. :)

Which is exactly why their ratings go down, down, down, Jovie. Who on earth would want to see or hear the flake at any time of day?

No better believe CNN will not mention that BJW2. Because they want to place the blame on this President. And the media is pushing this whole thing about him going to the border..
G’morning Chips & TOD! Happy Thursday everyone.
gnite all – enjoy the day
Fewer Americans than forecast filed applications for unemployment benefits last week, a sign the job market continues to strengthen. …
“The declining trend in claims is very encouraging, and is further evidence that the strong payrolls number we saw for June is not a fluke,” said Ryan Sweet, senior economist at Moody’s Analytics Inc. in West Chester, Pennsylvania, and the most accurate forecaster of jobless claims in the past two years, according to data compiled by Bloomberg. “The labor market is gaining momentum. This is consistent with strong gains in consumer spending. …

For so long this is what America told little black girls that is what is beautiful. So thankful we don’t have to buy into that anymore.

But Rep. Van Hollen, they can’t pass unemployment benefits, pass a jobs bill, which would put people back to work fixing our roads and bridges, but they can hold votes to repeal Obamacare 50 times, investigate Benghazi for the 100th time, it seem like a 100 times A waste of taxpayers money..
The people camping overnight to see POTUS know when a good thing comes around. And it usually comes only once. Therefore, they would not miss the chance to see their President. I would do the same!
No Child, So would I, I would camp out to see only two people, POTUS and FLOTUS. :)
Germany asks CIA station chief to leave over spy row
Germany took the dramatic step Thursday of asking the top U.S. intelligence official in Berlin to leave the country, following two reported cases of suspected U.S. spying and the yearlong spat over eavesdropping by the National Security Agency.
The move reflects growing impatience in Germany at what is perceived as U.S. nonchalance about being caught spying on a close ally
It is my hope that the moles are keeping a very low profile. Some of them might be in their teen-age years.
Merkel and her flock make me laugh. What about those spies she has around here and everywhere?
