I’m so sick and tired of this “President Obama should go to the border” bullshit. You don’t have to visit a place to have a major impact on it. Did he go to Abbottabad, or Syria, or Libya? Did he go to the Supreme Court to argue for the ACA or DOMA? Did he go to the Senate or the House to vote for DADT? And what exactly should he do once he arrives at the border, should he take pictures and hold babies? President Obama doesn’t do fluff, and he shouldn’t start now.

Agreed. Not only that, but I’m just really damn well done with people telling him what he SHOULD be doing! From my vantage point , he’s made excellent decisions in just about every way, on a variety of issues. They all need to have a seat and stfu. I don’t care WHAT side of the aisle these quarterback tappers are on!

I see no need of POTUS going to the border either, that we agree on.As I said earlier the politicians know what need to be done, so do it. If POTUS goes to the border, or he doesn’t he will be criticized.

I so agree…..so I can see the picture opp….kids crying b/c they are so afraid and traumatized by all the people around him with guns….PBO standing on the border with his hand raised like the Supremes in “Stop in the name of Love”….”GO HOME, turn around and swim back across that Rio Grande but watch out for the rattlesnakes”….that would make the GOP happy…

Your cheating is why Netherlands lost hilariously, Chips; and why van Persie will have a horrible season with Man United.

    You never learn.

I see PBO’s Between 2 Ferns has been nominated for an Emmy. I would vote for it——thought it was delicious and entertaining to the max.

Most people in this country don’t ever get to see PBO speak unless it is a prime time event. The viewership on cable (with the exception of Fox) is very small. When they do give you some or all of his speech it’s done with the express purpose so that they can critique it.

I’ll bet anything that they’ll pay no attention to his speech and will go right back to insisting to their very few viewers that he needs to go to the border and how bad it looks that he is fundraising instead of doing whatever it is they think he ought to be doing.

Right, Donna, which is why my computer is on.
I like the big image on live TV, though, not the commentary which I will turn off.

Oh my goodness……people have not only a sense of humor, but also are very creative…… this is scrumptiously ironic. I wonder what Nostradamus would have said many centuries ago……His predictions of 2 Popes Today, I must have missed them :)

The photos we see of people hoping to get a glance of PBO sure do expose how deceitful the msm is when it tries to convince us how unpopular PBO is. People do not react to unpopular Presidents this way. Bush events were very staged (and people in the audience had to sign an “oath” to get in) and they still pale in comparison to the spontaneous and genuine display of love and respect PBO receives. Another fact that exposes the msm’s lies and propaganda is how sparsely attended Tea Party and anti-PBO events are. If PBO were truly as unpopular as we are told, more than 50 people would attend those events. But we are supposed to ignore our lying eyes and instead believe the latest bogus poll that was doctored and engineered to obtain a predetermined result. I work in NYC and when I left the office one evening on the day PBO had given a speech at the UN, people were lined up 10 deep in hopes of getting a glimpse of PBO’s motorcade. New Yorkers are famously unimpressed with celebrity, but these jaded New Yorkers were like giddy children hoping to get a photo of PBO’s motorcade (my heart was racing too). My point is simple, don’t buy the bullshit the msm is selling. The msm and its pundits live in a bubble/echo chamber that is pathetically out of touch with America 2014.

        EricFive,
I am on my way to work soon and have had to refrain from commenting/posting on so many wonderful things as I catch up here at TOD before I hit the road.

But I just had to thank you for this! You made excellent points and you have echoed exactly what I have been thinking. I have family that say all they hear are negative things about the President (and they are supporters!) They thank me for the news I share from TOD. I know so many people who love PBO and lots of others who are just neutral; they like him, don’t pay much attention to politics and news, but they don’t hate him.

I was a little bit depressed last night after I talked to a colleague who is in business for herself and is paying too much for health insurance for her family because her insurance company raised her rates after ACA went into effect. I had been encouraging her to sign up through CoveredCA but I found out she missed the deadline because she was too worried and misinformed from all the bad press/rumors. I tried my best to clear up the misinformation and told her I would help her research a plan in October, when open enrollment begins again. This is how the MSM hurts real people with their anti-PBO, corporate-a$$-kissing BS!

You are soooo right in your observations! Your comments lifted me up today. Thanks!

I bet you won’t hear about this on any of those cable shows. Sigh!!!

In an interview with me just now, Diaz-Balart confirmed the meeting, and said he is “very disappointed” in his party’s decision not to move forward. Crucially, he cast the GOP leadership’s refusal to move forward as the key obstacle to reform. He said he had legislation ready to go, and that his conversations convinced him that a solid number of Republicans and Democrats would have supported it.

Instead you’ll get border, border, border, border…..

He brother Jose was just on MSNBC saying the same and that PBO should NOT be blamed.

I am looking forward to his new show starting soon. I think he is getting the 10 AM slot that Carol Jansing had.
