President Barack Obama speaks about the economy at the Turner-Fairbank Highway Research Center in McLean, Virginia. President Barack Obama envisions a time when cars will be able to talk with other cars or with America’s roads. He says such technology could prevent crashes, cut down on traffic and save gasoline.

This is 2014 and Internet Business in Huge and is now affecting Large Malls and these people are making this permanent? Not wise, not a wise move at all.

Maybe you misunderstood, Nena? This is about taxing internet service that comes into your home, not what you purchase on the internet.

Although we pay these hidden taxes on our phone bills all the time.

Nena, I believe you misunderstood the tweet or maybe the article. This is not about removing taxes from online purchases and leaving in place taxes that come from buying a product in person at a store. It is about making sure that access to the internet isn’t taxed. 7 states were taxing millions of people for access to the internet and this bill removes the taxes that were added in addition to your monthly internet service bill.

        Thanks Nerdy Wonka and 57andFemale.

I am glad to be reeducated on this matter. I appreciate it. Thanks again.

In MN we have Zero Taxes on Clothes, shoes, etc when purchased from many websites. I get all bothered, worried about that.

Tennesee VW plant employing 2,000 new workers in Chatanooga to build a mid-size SUV is great in several ways.
First 2000 new paychecks mean 2,000 families with more money in their posckets and perhaps 20,000 businesses in the surrounding neighborhoods seeing a significant uptick in their revenues and bottom lines, possibly requiring additonal hiring. The Virtuous Circle.

Also UAW and the local 92 has found a way around the Supreme Court. They are organizing to speak for the workers without obligatory dues collection.

Seems like a bright and sunshiny day in TN. Wave of the future, maybe?

    ****** DON’T BE FOOLED*****

    http://thinkprogress.org/health/2014/07/15/3460393/gop-hobby-lobby-contraception-bill/

There’s a war over birth control brewing in the Senate, and Republican lawmakers want to make it clear that the GOP is on the right side.
On Tuesday, after Senate Democrats introduced a measure to override the Supreme Court’s recent ruling on Hobby Lobby and clarify that for-profit companies must offer contraceptive coverage, their Republican colleagues announced some forthcoming legislation of their own. As the Hill reports, GOP leadership will introduce a bill that appears to be supportive of women’s access to birth control.
“We plan to introduce legislation this week that says no employer can block any employee from legal access to her FDA-approved contraceptives,” Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) said. “There’s no disagreement on that fundamental point.”
If the final bill is along the lines of the initial reports, however, the GOP’s competing legislation likely wouldn’t do anything to change the status quo or ensure that Hobby Lobby employees have insurance coverage for contraception. Instead, it’s simply a way for Republicans to reinforce the point that the high court’s ruling on Hobby Lobby doesn’t inhibit women’s legal access to birth control.
The fact that women are still allowed to purchase every type of FDA-approved birth control has become the central argument used to downplay the impact of the Hobby Lobby case. Of course, it’s certainly true. Contraception remains legal, and the decision to allow some for-profit companies to refuse to cover some types of birth control on religious grounds doesn’t mean that all IUDs, for example, are now banned.
But legality isn’t exactly the same as accessibility. And the Hobby Lobby case was about the latter.

It must be nice to have so much money that you can throw it away for no good reason.

    • July 15, 2014 at 3:21 pm

Besides being utterly hideous, I don’t see how this is constitutional. Bunch of people with too much time and money on their hands.

      • 79 Nena20409
        July 15, 2014 at 3:31 pm

It is Constitutional if they get the people to buy in on this in 2016…..then their state would start the process and seek for these states to join the USA……through a Constitutional Legal Process.

We have NC and SC. We have ND and SD. There are kind of 2 VAs: VA and WVa. Puerto Rico can be a state, just like Hawaii is the 50th state. It will require an act of Congress and the 2/3 of the other USA giving their OK.

        • July 15, 2014 at 3:34 pm

I know there’s a process but some people are being misguided that it’s just something the voters have to do.

NCLB, it is almost impossible today for a State to secede. The Civil War and the Constitution makes secession nearly impossible.

This is funny, but if you are an earnest follower of FOX News and the rest of the media, you would in fact believe that PBO was running in 2016. And not only that, but even Dems are running against him. Based on media reports…

I hope Chris Kluwe sues the Vikings and Wins big. It turns out his firing was as he indicated last year. The Vikings have serious Homophobic environment and his public activism ended his employment.

    http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/vikings/2014/07/15/chris-kluwe-lawsuit-discrimination-mike-priefer/12674611/

Former punter Chris Kluwe will sue the Minnesota Vikings over his release from the team last year in hopes of getting the club to publicly unveil the findings of an investigation into the matter. Kluwe and his attorney, Clayton Halunen, made the announcement at a media conference Tuesday.

Halunen said the lawsuit will allege religious discrimination, sexual orientation discrimination, defamation and tortious interference with contractual obligations, resulting in Kluwe’s release from the team in May 2013 after what he says was a pattern of intolerant language by special teams coordinator Mike Priefer related to Kluwe’s activism on gay marriage.

The media conference was called after Halunen received word Monday from the Vikings that they had “no intent” to release the report to Kluwe’s side or the public. Halunen strongly suggested its release would prompt the lawsuit to be dropped.

“We would like to resolve this out of court if we can,” Halunen told reporters.

Thanks,Sabreen60. Leader Pelosi is speaking now. Amend the Constitution…….I am in support of this. How to get the grassroots energized on this and to get a Huge movement is the key. The Corporate media makes way too much money from false advertisement to bother to care.
