Thanks and greetings Mighty P. I remember when you became Mighty. :) I hope your knees are recovering cuz we still got a race to run!

        • July 22, 2014 at 12:58 pm

Yes, that was a most memorable day in this life! Sorry about the knees. But I’ll wager you have already won the race, as there’s a seemingly permanent hitch in ma gitalong, and the other knee is not a happy little joint, carrying the work load! I’m active enough, working part-time, taking TaiChi 2-3x/week, walking everyday. In my field of elderly care, we call it ‘the new normal’! Huge attitude adjustment! Appreciate your kind thoughts, tho!

Hi Chips! Read about your Chili episode and I can relate. I tell folks – if you see me standing in the kitchen with a knife in my hand, something’s out of order. I tried to peel an apple for a five year old and she screamed before I cut myself. I guess she saw that was going to be the inevitable result. I can handle a screwdriver tho. :D

I can relate, too. Have an adult granddaughter staying with me for a bit, and she loves to cook (it skipped a generation, in my case). I light a candle at the feet of that young goddess every night. Ha.

Hey now! Congratulations Chips & Nerdy for a wonderful collaboration. You guys rock it to the nth!!! I wake up and go to bed with TOD on my mind and in my prayers, even if I can’t always comment. I know there is a special place in Heaven for those who do the Lord’s work, even if they are unaware. :D. May you continue to prosper as you go forth.

Bill R., you are on the right path in your comments. My “sources” ( great and reliable ones, by the way) calmed my nerves as I made a call to them; and this was the come away for me to calm down and relax because they seem to believe that this is highly possible how it will go down.
Thanks for your comment Bill R. We will continue to work hard and pray much for POB and all in involved in the goodness and fairness of these things.HZ

As was posted in another thread, the insurance companies are counting on the government subsidies and will be financially damaged if they are taken away. I’m hoping, for that reason, that the SCOTUS won’t want to revisit this case after the en banc ruling, but, given its current ideological makeup, I’m not resting easy.

I hope the US and the world continues to do more of this. I hope we see more pictures and videos showing what is really happening on the ground.

The United States tax payers should not fund Israel’s wars. It is wrong.

Applause for airlines protecting their passengers, staff and equipment above the selfish monetary interests of an outlaw state.
We don’t need to denounce israel. Depriving it of its usual commerce is a more effective message.

FAA issued guidelines is the main contributor. US Airlines are excellent in abiding by FAA rules and suggestions.

      • July 22, 2014 at 1:24 pm

and once ..one airline suspended flights they all had to…because if they hadn’t and God forbid …something happens…there would be a heavy price to pay.

On Rick Perry’s latest stunt and what the White House had to say.

    What Perry says

Gov. Rick Perry is deploying up to 1,000 National Guard troops over the next month to the Texas-Mexico border to combat criminals who he says are exploiting a surge of children and families entering the U.S. illegally. He says the state has a responsibility to act after “lip service” from the federal government.

    What opponents say

County sheriffs and others opposed to the troops say that crime data along the border doesn’t justify the extra resources. The deployment will cost Texas $12 million a month. Some county sheriffs, noting that the Guardsmen would not be detaining people, say it would be a bigger help if that money was used to help them hire more deputies and acquire more equipment.

    What the Obama administration says

If Perry deploys National Guard troops, it is up to Texas to pay for them. White House spokesman Josh Earnest said Perry, as commander in chief of Texas military forces, can do so but “a much more powerful symbol would be the bipartisan passage” of federal legislation to bolster border security and overhaul immigration law.

yes, because they thought Citizens United would’ve taken care of that aspect to help the GOP – but PBO found a way to bypass CU….thus rendering the GOP and their friends in the media seething in rage and resentment.

Since GOP friendly entities (corporations) own and control the msm, making most mainstream “news” sources little more than pro-GOP/anti-PBO infomercials and Citizens United opened the flood gates to dark money saturating our airwaves with pro-GOP commercials, it must be scary to the GOP/MSM that this GOP wave is showing no sign of materializing.

The people who make the re-election of Netanyahu should be called out. Poll after poll taken in Israel would state that majority would not want what is going on…..yet just since 2006……this is the 4th massacre of the masses. 2006. 2008/2009. 2012 and now 2014. This is not including the bombings of various kinds in between.

Netanyahu’s position has been well known since the 1980s. Giving power to him…..and expecting a different result is what Einstein would have called Insanity.

As the investigation surrounding Bowe Bergdahl’s complicated story begins, Bergdahl’s attorney Eugene Fidell is speaking out against his client’s critics, specifically Fox News.

In an interview with HuffPost Live, Fidell accused the cable network of politicizing Bergdahl’s case in an effort to affect the public’s view of President Obama.

“It’s very unfortunate that Fox News has an opportunity to use this case in an effort to stir up the base, use this in an effort to vilify my client, who everybody knows has gone through a terrible five-year long captivity among the bloodthirsty and ruthless Taliban, and use this case as a lever to bludgeon President Obama,” Fidell said.

Yes, indeed Bill. That’s why I always urge TODers to be measured in our responses when the MSM comes out with their “BREAKING:HORRIFIC NEWS FOR OBAMA” headlines. Lets wait and see how things play out, first. Let’s not feed into the media’s doom & gloom frenzy, particularly since we KNOW their agenda is to demoralize Dems while boosting the GOP’s morale.

Thank you, hopefruit2 and Bill for your previous comments and this one as well. Until I get comments from the WH and our president, I keep my calmness in a well protected order. The MSM will do all that they can to continue to create” the doom and gloom frenzy” concerning all PBO; but thank goodness we have this beautiful place with Chips and all of the beautiful brilliant minds here.

          I want to thank Nerdy W., on her First Anniversary with TODers as a brilliant and great contributor with Chips. Oh, I do not know what I would do without this beautiful space. He keep me on a sane level to be in the presence of this great community. {{{{{{{{TY, Nerdy}}}}}}}}

My quiet time refreshed my heart especially after listening and watching PBO signed the ‘Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act.’
I am so grateful to be retired, but at every moment of the working journey, I always had a mindset that my employment was a blessing first because of what my parents and grandparents taught me about work. And I was constantly aware that my employment was also a blessing to those around me because I was sharing all of my gifts in my career. There was a constant state of being enriched and enriching others around me because I was dedicated to doing my job well daily.

I cried, when I heard again how much our president told all of us how having a job in this country is and can be a blessing to millions who just want to take good care of their families, do a great job, live a decent life, and enjoy a decent retirement. And I thought of how blessed I was to do a job well done, but gave daily enrichment to others to strive to follow my lead and do a job well as well. People want to be good decent people in the work place; but they need a good, fair, and decent workplace. So, I continue to give thanks to God for the beautiful gifts that were favored to me as a young lady, and then I was able to deliver to the world those gifts with a grateful heart.

I always asked for blessings for those who worked with me all those years; but I was also encouraged because of their gifts . So as I enjoy my retirement, I think of the many people who arrived in that district the same year that I arrived; and I know now without a doubt, that their retirement of now great enjoyment with their families and children, grand-children and friends are the result of first; being able to have the gifts to enjoy that first job; second, working their crafts with a sense of pride and joy; and knowing that they were doing a job well. And because of all of the opportunities that came our way during that time on those jobs were fair, and afforded us to make others prosper as wonderful workers at their gifts.

I asked for blessings to go forth with the signing of this Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act signing today, and that it will bring many well done blessings to this next generation as they move into new and rewarding jobs created for this century and the many that will come in the future. May we continue to support those who made this possible, Sec. Duncan, Sec. Peres, and of course VP Biden and our amazing President, Barack Obama. Even Ms. Foxx of Carolina was a part of H.R. 803 getting to the President’s desk for signing. I am grateful for this signing today.

Blessings to all of us who are loving this summer very warm weather, and we are so excited that PBO will be arriving this afternoon. We will give him the Calif. love, for sure. {{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{ Love my TOD family.}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}HZ
