[Yes, we also have crazies in MD! From Juanita Jean!]

Michael Peroutka, a Republican nominee for city council in Maryland attended a League of the South convention in Alabama and was one of the key speakers. […..]

[…..] Peroutka generated controversy after winning the GOP nomination because he believes that the current U.S. and state governments are no longer valid, and should be destroyed by secession or other means.

“You need to secede and then you need to have the biblical understanding of law and government, and make the applications,” Peroutka told the League of the South in 2012. “So we need to take the biblical understand of law and government into account no matter what the outcome is with respect to the crumbling of the current regime.”

Translation: There is a black man in the White House, dammit.

And then, to make his loyalties perfectly clear…

At the conclusion of his nearly hour-long talk, Peroutka asked the audience to rise and sing the “national anthem.”

But instead of “The Star-Spangled Banner,” Peroutka led them to sing “Dixie,” the de facto anthem of the Confederacy during the Civil War. […..]

[LOL! I don’t think I’d have the guts!]

The members of the Wee Winkie Club, also known as Open Carry Texas, are a group of unfortunate looking men who parade around – legally in Texas – with long guns. Oddly, you do not have to have a permit to carry a long gun. You can be crazy as a brickbat and still be allowed to walk around with a shotgun or a semi-automatic weapon.

    That just doesn’t seem right.

So when Open Carry Texas did one of their many open-carry events, where they parade around admiring each other’s “weapons” and attempt to scare crap out of passing cars, they were met with middle aged almost-bare-naked ladies.

    Really.

It is legal to go topless in Austin, Texas, which doesn’t seem right either but does lead to far more fun than guns. [….]

Although I muted MSNBC when the President walked away, it was refreshing seeing the face of Chris Jansing as their White House correspondent on screen – not Chuck Todd’s awful mug. Early on, after her assignment, he said he was still part of the WH press corps, but I’m hoping he’s instead gone on a long walk off a short pier if ya get my drift. At least for this afternoon.

    http://rhrealitycheck.org/article/2014/07/29/hobby-lobby-allegedly-fired-employee-due-pregnancy/

When a very pregnant Felicia Allen applied for medical leave from her job at Hobby Lobby three years ago, one might think that the company best known for denying its employees insurance coverage of certain contraceptives—on the false grounds that they cause abortions—would show equal concern for helping one of its employees when she learned she was pregnant.

Instead, Allen says the self-professed evangelical Christian arts-and-crafts chain fired her and then tried to prevent her from accessing unemployment benefits.

“They didn’t even want me to come back after having my baby, to provide for it,” she says.

Her allegations—as well as those brought by other former Hobby Lobby employees—call into question the company’s public claims when it comes to protecting life and operating its business with Christian values. Additionally, they highlight a practice by which Hobby Lobby prevents its employees from seeking justice through the courts.

Even as Ayman Mohyeldin was explaining the lack of electricity in Gaza and the visual next to him showed gaza’s only power source aflame, the scrolling twitter on bottom of the screen told us that “All of DC says Kerry blew it.”

Putin is tuned into the Koch Bros empire. I don’t think PBO is afraid of that and Israel has some very staunch Dem supporters. But PBO is an incrementalist who gives people chances but he ratchets up the pressure ever so insidiously.
