Chat On – And Heads Up (Just In Case)

@petesouza: President Obama meets with his national security team today in the Situation Room

****

Lots of tweety claims that President Obama is about to make a statement on Iraq, but I haven’t seen any confirmation yet.

But keep an eye on your screens, just in case.

I think I can speak for many of us here who would be very glad to have PBO set us straight as to what is going on.

Just posted at the bottom of the previous thread … no WH or Pentagon confirmation as yet, but this dude likely knows what’s happening …

Yes, I remember this well. My pastor included it in his sermon on on a subsequent Sunday. It was a great lesson for me in how we miss the gift of moments like this, the teachable moment, when the the curtains are opened and we can see where we actually are, and then do things differently. Instead, blathering defensive representatives of the respective news services went into double back flips to say something confusing about photographers notes and different somethings and I don’t know what, giving everyone cover from seeing the deeply held attitude that ‘colored’ the coverage by the writers of the captions. It wasn’t about sending them into Time Out —-they simply reflected where we are, and gave us an accidental chance to say, Uh-oh! We are off track. We have to notice where we are and head where we want to be, which is liberty and justice for all. Instead, everybody went back to admiring the emperor’s new clothes.

I truly like this, as I think it is what’s decidedly missing in today’s media – the ability to look/listen, learn, and then do things differently.

It was on display at the WHPC at the President’s Press Conference yesterday…

And I would very much like to put them on Time Out!

Now the Pentagon says that it was desert and not hamburgers dropped on ISIS. To be exact it was 500k McDonalds hot apple pies for a buck apiece.

Ohh, now it’s being reported that the pentagon ordered out for pizza and decided to share it with the Iraqi Embassy in DC.

Sen. John Walsh, D-Montana, is abandoning his bid for election in wake of plagiarism scandal, @ABC has learned. He’ll serve rest of term.

Looking forward to seeing Rand Paul stepping down

    Oh – just read this

Double Standard: John Walsh Drops Senate Bid As Plagiarist Rand Paul Runs For President

    http://www.politicususa.com/2014/08/07/double-standard-john-walsh-drops-senate-bid-plagiarist-rand-paul-runs-president.html

“There seems to be a partisan contradiction in the treatment of plagiarists by the media. It would nice to know why serial plagiarist Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) is considered a serious presidential candidate in 2016, but Walsh was run out of town on a rail.”

Imagine that – partisan contradiction by the media – who would have thought?

From what I read pf – the RW press have killed any chance he had and it seems an alternative dem will have more chance – which is probably why he decided to withdraw.

We might not loose it. 3 women are being considered as replacements. I would work hard for any of the three. They are Nancy Keenan who just quite as head of NARAL, Denise Juneau, who is our current Super of Education and is Indian, and Monica Lindeen, who is our current Commissioner of Securities, State Auditor. Daines the Repub candidate has loads of money and the Kochs are spending lots of money. But I think any of these 3 women could get out the votes. I have hope.

Right now as we speak, I think Mark Knoller has a fantasy that he’s in the middle of the Iraqi desert…alone, cold, hungry, well not cold because he’s in the warm desert. Anyway, he’s stranded and hungry. He is a victim and the US is coming to his rescue.

So PBO orders a series of food drops – bags and bags of freshly baked tater tots being dropped in straight in Mark’s hungry open beak. Followed by bags of donuts…

Tune in tomorrow for the 2nd episode in the ‘Mark Knoller Fantasy’ Series.

Tweety and Fineman are unbelievably slobbering and blathering that this could be Obama’s new Benghazi. I have never heard such idiotic pundit commentary—–and I thought it had already reached the depths. Just clueless, uninformed talking out of their whatevers—-wild speculation, dumb to the max. And I guess it’s not just RW who are nostalgic about Benghazi and dreaming of some new fantasy. I give up.
(no I don’t, but I feel like it when I hear such extreme idiocy)
Now Tweety is asking if PBO will still go on vacation. Over and out.

Alison Grimes should be educating her state.
Less “I’m a Clinton democrat” and more truthful factfilled info.

On BWD there’s a tweet that says Bill Clinton showed up with Alison to remind Kentucky that they didn’t vote for PBO. WTF? Do ALG and BC want Alison to win?

      • August 7, 2014 at 8:24 pm

Yes, Bill Clinton said he was very fond of KY because they voted for him twice and they also voted for HRC.
        Can you say, DOG WHISTLE?
But I saw no critique of his tactics so whatever.

The entire MSM plus Right Wing and Privileged Left seem to be fine with this campaign to denigrate PBO and without any rational basis whatsoever act as though The Clintons are still in office or were any good when they were in office.

PBO won’t sit still for it. He brought up Clinton’s very late appearance in Bosnia and the shameful lack of US help in Rwanda massacre will be cited as well. If necessary.

SOS Kerry is a dynamo. Working on critical issues day in and day out.
Please remind me….What did the previous SOS do? Yes, as a celebrity flying world over she was welcomed. But what was accomplished? Must have been something.

      • August 7, 2014 at 8:27 pm

I have mixed feelings about this kind of rhetoric as well….but although there are blue dogs in the House and the Senate…they almost always vote the way Reid and Pelosi want them to vote…and that is important…if she can unseat McConnell….that will be a good for sure….
