I am sick to my stomach. Holy Crap.
Video has Nothing to do with the Killing of MB. Period.
The Chief of Police said on Monday that it was about the Jaywalking. Yesterday he said Wilson was punched in the face. Today, MB was accused of Robbery. Now the Chief said: No. Not sure it was MB on the tape. Cigars were found on MB. No, the cop who shot MB didn’t know about the Robbery.

Total character assassination. The Governor can’t fire the Chief is my guess. Something needs to change. The City Council and or the City Manager probably can fire the Chief of Police.

Fear of the Black skin is what this is all about. It is called Racism 101.

The Ferguson police chief said Darren Wilson did not know Michael Brown was involved in the alleged robbery when he saw Mike walking down the street. He had no idea who Mike Brown was.

The officer who killed Mike Brown was not the same officer who responded to the alleged robbery incident.

So he shot him multiple times for the crime of walking in the street?

    OMG.

There is no way in hell that ANYONE could have known Michael Brown was involved in the robbery before the shooting.

There is no way in hell that the Ferguson Police Dept could have gotten to the 7-11, viewed the video and identified the person as Michael Brown that fast.

So let me get this straight: that farce of a press ‘conference’ this morning was just to show that Michael Brown was a black ‘thug’ and deserved what he got anyway, regardless of the actual circumstances of the murder. At the moment of the altercation between Brown and Wilson, Michael Brown was killed for walking on the street.

Got it. And yet we can’t vote all of these sociopaths out of office.

So my best friend of 40+ years just called me, distraught as her cousin (who I also know) that has been dealing with mental health issues all her life was shot and killed yesterday by the Phoenix PD responding to a mental health call at her cousin’s apartment. I realize that responding to these types of calls are volatile for everyone involved, but why is the immediate response shooting to kill? What happened to less lethal options???

Ferguson, Los Angeles, Phoenix……. My heart continues to be heavy for our humanity. Hug your loved ones today….

      Another painful and unacceptable death! {{PS}}

‘why is the immediate response shooting to kill?’
PS, I ask myself this whenever these situations arise. Are police no longer trained to try to diffuse a situation? Aren’t they trained to use their weapons well, as in shoot to disarm or disable so as to contain the situation? The many shoot to kill/ overkill incidents we hear seem to make up a norm that is quite chilling. To me these repetitive incidents give the lie to the assumption that any training is needed to become a police officer.

Cops need frequent and regular situational training, anger management therapy, psychological evaluation and competent leadership. As someone who comes from a family if military and law enforcement professionals, it’s heartbreaking to see how the rotten eggs, who are just interested in busting heads and acting some video famtasy, can work their way onto police forces and tear apart communties, rather than protecting them! Darren Wilson, the Ferguson, Mo. police officer who was identified Friday as the cop that killed an unarmed black teenager last weekend, reportedly skipped town with his family days ago.

USA Today reported that no one answered the door Friday at Wilson’s Crestwood, Mo. home. A police officer keeping watch over the home told the newspaper that Wilson had left town with his family days ago.

A neighbor told USA Today that she’d had no idea that Wilson was the cop who shot 18-year-old Michael Brown until Friday morning, when Crestwood police informed residents that Wilson was involved in the incident and their neighborhood would draw attention.

It’s unclear exactly when Wilson left the area.

If this is true, I’m not surprised. (Check the time on my tweets) I have been quietly wondering for a while now if the reason his name was being withheld was to give him time to make himself scarce. After all, I couldn’t see (still can’t) any way he could credibly excuse his behaviour. To me it’s the kind of behaviour that suggests he never expected that he would be seriously held accountable, at least not in #Ferguson.

    • August 15, 2014 at 4:59 pm

He should not have been allowed to leave the area. Isn’t that the normal procedure for key individuals in an on-going investigation? They could not use the excuse of him being in danger because until this morning, no one even knew who he was.

Yardarm, no consolation for Michael Brown and countless others murdered by police, but in Albuquerque this year, a white homeless man was surrounded and shot and killed by Albuqueque PD for “illegal camping” on a hiking trail. Albuquerque PD are now under DOJ investigation and just last month “decided” to get rid of their military armored vehicle.

In many ways, homeless people are apparently lumped into the same category that Ferguson PB lumps Black citizens — as less than human. Another case in Fullerton CA last year where Fullerton PD beat a young white homeless man to death, but for some unknown reason were acquitted this year by a jury.

DF disagreed with me this morning that Capt. Ron Johnson (Missouri Highway Patrol) is taking a page out of PBO’s book to give #Ferguson police chief Tom Jackson enough rope to hang himself.

My personal opinion is that the Ferguson police chief has taken his cue from John Boehner (throw spaghetti against the wall to see how much sticks). He’s cornered and the #FergusonPD have lied from the beginning, apparently completely unaware that there’s a thing called Twitter on the intertubes.

That’s what I don’t get. HOW THE HELL did that happen? Who allowed the PD to get away with this unethical behavior? Where were Brown’s lawyers – why didn’t they demand to SEE what was in that report? Why didn’t they insist that either that information be not released, or that the press and/or the public be allowed to ask questions of the Chief at the moment he was releasing that info? Why didn’t Governor Nixon do the same?

      • 75 Nena20409

          August 15, 2014 at 5:17 pm

I would think they are bound by certain rules under MO jurisdiction and the governor has a right to make certain demands of them. Just as the governor had the authority to replace the St Louis PD with the Highway state patrol as we saw last night.

The DA of that City is charging that the Gov didn’t have the authority to make the changes he made. The charges will not go anywhere…..for many would not be backing the DA to sue the Gov……. will be my guess. This case has become too Hot to Handle for the DA to play out his political charges….especially, now that the Police Chief has bungled everything.

  27. 78 hopefruit2
    August 15, 2014 at 4:58 pm

Now the lawyers are giving press briefing – and all the questions so far…”Is it him in that video?” And that’s all the press needs to incriminate Michael Brown as a perpetrator and not a victim. These lawyers should have NEVER allowed that Chief to release that info to the press without their knowledge or consent because it was IRRELEVANT to the shooting. Now no matter how much they try to tell people to not focus on that – the media has already ran away with it.

    • 79 Nena20409
      August 15, 2014 at 5:06 pm

Since MB was 18yrs old. I don’t know if the Ferguson Chief of Police would need the Consent of the family before releasing any video. The saddest part is that the Police Chief is a willful character assassin of MB. He knew what he was doing. That was why he didn’t take questions earlier, dropping the still photo knowing that the Media would permanently change the dialogue and quickly go back to their old tune……The Decimation of a Black Skin…….a favorite wicked game as played by the US Media for over 400 yrs.

      • 80 hopefruit2
        August 15, 2014 at 5:40 pm

Not the family’s consent – the lawyer’s knowledge and/or consent. If the PD is trying to use this info as justification for why MB was killed, it’s called evidence. And if it’s not related then it should be used to link the two events. Yet MB’s lawyers seemed completely taken by surprise that this was done…WHY?

        • 81 Nena20409
          August 15, 2014 at 7:01 pm

Since the Police didn’t tell the Captain and the Gov……I am inclined to believe that the family was not informed.

The 22 yrs old friend of MB did speak about the Store incident. FBI was aware of it. The Police is Covering their horrific mistake…..so they wickedly planned and orchestrated a scheme to malign MB to save their 28 yrs old bigoted cop.

    • 97 hopefruit2
      August 15, 2014 at 5:58 pm

EXACTLY…which is why I blame MB’s lawyers to some extent for not getting out in front of this. They essentially allowed their client to be smeared and found guilty in the media for his own death. They hastily scribbled a “statement” after being caught off guard, after allowing the Police Chief’s smear to fester in the media and elsewhere for FOUR hours.

Meanwhile we still know NOTHING about that cop who was responsible for killing him. And these silly marches/rallies/protests are accomplishing nothing at this point.

      Deep breath.

Rick Perry hearts Rick Perry. He’s at the Iowa State Fair.

The Texas governor addressed the Iowa State Fair on Tuesday, and when the moderator thanked him after his speech, Perry reportedly said: “You’re welcome. I’m awesome!”

No, no you’re not,And we’re pretty sure he’s drinking again.

At one point, the Republican governor met a 10-year-old girl and continued to shake her hand as he spoke with her parents.

“I can’t feel my fingers,” Mackenzie Goodyk said, according to the report.

“Oh, my gosh, I had a hold of you, didn’t I?” Perry responded.

DAMN! Rick’s a convicted felon now! No voting for YOU!!

    http://www.statesman.com/news/news/rick-perry-indicted-for-lehmberg-veto-threat/ng3zF/

A Travis County grand jury today indicted Gov. Rick Perry on two charges related to his effort last year to force District Attorney Rosemary Lehmberg to resign after her drunken driving arrest.
Grand jurors charged Perry, 63, with abuse of official capacity, a first-degree felony, and coercion of a public official.
The indictments stemmed from Perry’s threat last summer to withhold $7.2 million in state money from Lehmberg’s office unless she step down – a threat he later carried out by vetoing an appropriation in the state budget. The money was earmarked for the state’s Public Integrity Unit, which is housed in Lehmberg’s office. Perry’s veto forced Travis County taxpayers to partially fund the office, but several prosecutors and staff lost their jobs or had to be reassigned.

    http://thinkprogress.org/culture/2014/08/15/3471765/i-am-mike-brown-game-changer/

But last night, the tide changed when ‘I Am Mike Brown,’ penned and performed by G.A.G.E., leaked online. Unlike a Kanye West, known for his controversial commentary on social and political discourse, G.A.G.E. isn’t as famous, and is an unlikely character in an ongoing fight to understand Ferguson — and other instances like it. But he may be the voice we need to revamp political messaging in popular music.

“They let Zimmerman off, this cop ain’t learn from Trayvon.

I’m just sitting here dropping a little tear and knowledge,

Not even to get the mail??!! Everyone is home…except my kiddos that are at work right now…when WAS that convo about not leaving your house? If I was there, I’d make you come out dancing…or something:)

:) Convo was earlier this week – won’t say what day. You do know that mail these days consists mainly of bills, right? So there’s no need to check for mail every day. Anyhoo, I’m one of those whose mailbox is literally outside my door. I open the door, stretch my hand to the left and voilà! In fact I can look through the glass by the door and tell if I do have mail before even opening the door. As I describe this for you, I realize anew how very fortunate I am.

Folks get your cellphones out, I wanna know. Does Rick Perry deserve to be shot & killed execution style because he may be connected to felony? Text A for yes; B for no.

Mention of Seattle reminded me of MP & Bobfr.
