It’s always about the President. I think Nixon needs to be called on the carpet fir his stupid oders.

  3. August 18, 2014 at 10:38 am

When we see the facts as presented by a coroner, I know we are going to be even more horrified.
Brace yourselves. Things are about to get even more difficult.

As far as the goals of investigation, I think the autopsy report will make things easier – because more will be revealed about what happened.

It might be more difficult for the Ferguson PD, FOX NEWS and the Darren Wilson supporters – and they will become more angry and unhinged – so in that sense you’re right. And of course the media will try confuse people by discrediting the report somehow and bringing all kinds of “forensic non-experts” to say that that this was self-defense.

      • August 18, 2014 at 10:48 am

Yes, this is what I mean. Every piece of information that goes into the Media Meatgrinder gets distorted to fit the RW victim racist framework.

Crump needs to step up his game. For one thing, he’s a poor public speaker – and is not helping his client.

    • August 18, 2014 at 11:00 am

Not listening, but agree. The other attorney does much better.

    • August 18, 2014 at 11:23 am

I agree with that. For someone who is becoming so high profile, he needs to be better organized with a stronger presentation.

      August 18, 2014 at 11:36 am

I have refrained from saying anything about Crump to date, and will only say this this one time – I was not impressed with him from the minute I ‘met’ him in the Martin case, I thought he was an unimpressive ‘lump’ (nothing to do with his size) then, and I was totally disappointed when I heard the Browns chose him. I have no idea what his reputation is, if he does high profile work (?) for free, but IMO he comes across as gauche, does not speak with confidence and doesn’t inspire confidence in me. In short he is not commanding in words, manner, or presence! For me he projects an inability to seize the initiative, or to capitalize on the opponent’s mistakes – in short to me he projects …failure. /brushing palms together/ There, having gotten out my disgust with his non-performance in my eyes, I will restrain myself on the subject of Crump going forward!

BBL – off to ‘lunch’

This is how the media loves to instigate and muddy the waters.

No he didn’t. He revealed that the Ferguson PD lied in some KEY areas

    1. There were at least 6 shots fired (that hit Brown). The Police Chief said not more than 2 shots were fired.
    2. There was no evidence of a struggle – Ferguson PD claimed that Brown was “trying to reach for Darren’s gun”
    3. Bullets were likely fired from a distance of at LEAST 2ft or more – again, inconsistent with Ferguson PD’s claims that there was a struggle.

      August 18, 2014 at 11:32 am

I’m not watching, but based on NW’s (and others) tweets, how can Blow say this? Michael Brown’s fatal wound was the shot on top of his head.

This was an execution in BROAD DAYLIGHT, not the murky visibility of 3 am.

A**shole murderer knew what he was doing and all other FPD are complicit, since they denied MB medical assistance and the dignity of being transported to an appropriate facility.

Enraging, as if we weren’t already enflamed.

Rev. Al is on with Tamron now calling us very close to a police state. The Revs definition of police state is that no matter what the police do we cannot ask questions.
If we ask questions, we may not get answers.

    August 18, 2014 at 11:37 am

I’m glad that Crump and Dr. Baden held this press conference, now the heat is on the Police to respond and they’re going to have to explain those head shots.

    • 72 donna dem 4 obama
      August 18, 2014 at 11:41 am

They won’t because they don’t care what the circumstances are. They are going to keep right on doing what they’re doing and painting the protesters as the problem. Just look at the fact that no one has held them accountable for releasing that bogus video of Mike trying to justify a reason for his murder and tainting an eventual jury pool. The whole thing makes me sick!

    • 73 Vicki
      August 18, 2014 at 11:42 am

Don, yes. Dr. Baden said that the family’s questions—did my son suffer?—-for example, could have been answered by the FPD and FME right away. Fatal head shot wound meant immediate loss of conciousness. It is cruel to withhold that info from grieving parents.

If Darren Wilson doesn’t surrender (the f*cking coward executioner) today, the National Guard is not going to help the situation tonight.

I am concerned about the MSM turning toward PBO for a solution (as that jackass Halperin has already done, glibly) — and PBO is not on “vacation” today.

I hate the MSM with the heat of 10,000 suns.

Wilson, do the honorable thing and surrender. No hope of this, since he’s not honorable, nor a man.

    • 75 hopefruit2
      August 18, 2014 at 11:44 am

Right now ALL the focus should be on Darren Wilson to surrender. It should not be about PBO (as Dr. Baden himself said, no President has ever gotten involved in the shooting of a Black man, and PBO has already initiated a federal investigation).

It should not be about the National Guard, protests, teargas, Captain John, or Governor Nixon.

There should be a laser-like and almost exclusive focus on the Ferguson PD and Darren Wilson.

    • 79 anniebella
      August 18, 2014 at 12:34 pm

Darren Wilson could have stop shooting and call for backup. He knew what Brown look like, and he knew the area he was in, there was no call for deadly force. Wilson life or anyone else life was in danger.

  32. 80 sherijr
    August 18, 2014 at 11:40 am

with 5 shots to an unarmed man.. why a kill shot? This was an execution. And done with a sense or belief that he (Wilson) could do it with impunity.

    • August 18, 2014 at 11:45 am

Because they always had cover! The prosecutor was NEVER going to bring suit against a cop! Wilson knew that whatever he did, someone would cover his ass

        I agree, df.

      • August 18, 2014 at 1:01 pm

I’m still incredulous of the what went on during the four hours from when Michael Brown was shot, to when his body was finally removed. Just about everything these officers did compromised the crime scene and contaminated the evidence. Every officer that was present at the crime, scene as well as the chief, should be arrested and charged with accessory to murder. Why they have not yet been suspended is an issue in itself.

Yes, and there is a reason they’re in a lather. Because (Unlike what Charles Blow seems to want us to think), the autopsy report makes’ the conservatives’ and Ferguson PD’s version of the story FAR LESS likely than the other eyewitness accounts, suggesting that Brown was killed execution style.

I am starting to get crazy paranoid fears about Ferguson.
In a nutshell————–Is the FPD enacting out a long term strategy? As opposed to fatal shooting, then ugly blunders. Or mistakes.

What else explains the heavy armed belligerent presence 3 hours before curfew?
What are they really up to…..

  39. August 18, 2014 at 11:53 am

I’m concerned about the chain of custody of key evidence that would be useful in completing the autopsy and the investigation. The blood for the toxicology testing, the x-rays, the clothing, etc. are all in the hands of the county examiner/FPD an under the control of the county prosecutor. The cynic in me is not trusting that all evidence will be turned over to the feds, or that evidence will somehow get lost/destroyed.

I’d forgotten this: For the first several days, the whole case was about the cop chasing a fleeing ‘suspect’ (of what, we’re not sure. Jaywalking), and that ‘deadly force by police’ is justified if someone is fleeing.

    Now, what, FPD?

  49. 109 57andfemale
    August 18, 2014 at 12:07 pm

    True?

    • August 18, 2014 at 12:14 pm

Along these lines: I heard a recording this morning (Joe Madison) of a fellow officer saying that even though he hasn’t spoken with Darren, he is 100% that he would NEVER have done this unless he felt his life was threatened. See, they have all gotten their story, their talking points. Anyway they can, it’s GOING to be Mike’s fault.

      • 112 Dudette
        August 18, 2014 at 12:18 pm

Hopefully, if it ever gets to trial, jury will think eyewitness testimony matters more than friend’s feelings about his fellow officer.

        • August 18, 2014 at 12:27 pm

Given the credibility of the witnesses, I’m sure at least one of them would have said if they had seen Michael Brown struggling or fighting with Wilson, or if he had charged the officer. No one that I have heard has indicated anything that would lead an objective observer to believe that Wilson could have possibly felt threatened.

        • August 18, 2014 at 12:40 pm

I think that considering if there is a trial it will not be in Ferguson, MO and will be move where there will be an ALL white jury. The jury will be given conflicting jury instructions and Michael Brown will be put on trial and the eyewitnesses will also be put on trial. White jurors do not convict white cops. I have lived a long time and know that the first trial the cop will be acquitted an the federal trial he will be convicted.

          • August 18, 2014 at 12:54 pm

I thought about that too jojo. There was a reporter interviewed one night last week who was talking about the attitude of residents in a community near Ferguson. Bottom line, they feel that the people protesting are thugs and that Michael Brown probably got what he deserved. I’m afraid that this is these are the type people that will be in the jury pool if the venue is moved; especially if Atty. Crump and associates are not on top of their game.

I don’t care what some other officer ‘thinks’.

What is happening in this country: we have lost all sense of proportionality and we are not taught the skills of negotiation and how to diffuse anger. At the heart of this is the NRA. And a GOP and complicit Conservadems. We then arm these podunk police departments with weapons of war and they want to play with their toys. Most disturbing: every little slight is now perceived as a threat requiring deadly force. It’s sick and it show the devolving of human beings.

So Wilson sees a potential conflict and the only choice is deadly force. Of course there’s a feeling of threat. But the first few shots (if I want to give this sociopath any credit) made it clear that there was no gun, no threat. It is the JOB of a police officer to understand that and diffuse the situation.

This insanity that facts don’t matter, only if you ‘think’ you are in danger – has got to stop.

I’ve been thinking about writing something about this. After my boss stops yelling at me, that is.

Michael Brown was brought to his knees. His hands were up. He is reported as saying “I don’t have a gun. Stop shooting.” Instead this sociopath brought him down, and walked over to him and executed him. Bull shit. he didn’t know about an alleged robbery. He had ample opportunity to do the least amount of damage possible. He made a choice, and it was to kill an unarmed man.

    • 129 57andfemale
      August 18, 2014 at 1:00 pm

And what proof does Nixon have? Has he even asked for any? Or just the word of the sociopaths in war mode who want to cover their asses and make Nazis look nice?

  54. August 18, 2014 at 12:44 pm

You know, the assumption was that the citizens in Ferguson would have (should have) been appreciative to have been *allowed* to express themselves. But noooooooo, they are actually demanding answers and accountability. And on top of that, they want equal treatment under the law. They actually expect the officer to be arrested and charged with murder as they would have been under similar circumstances.

This rebellious behavior cannot be tolerated.
