Thank you LL for the last post – Sometimes you all mention artists I have never heard about – but Paul Robeson – we grew up with his music – I needed those songs.

Meanwhile it seems the Gov Nixon is making sure his state is seen as a police state – and giving the job of justice to PBO and AG Holder. They NEVER allow them to have 1 day of peace.

i’m grateful every day for our wonderful first lady. and at times like these, when i want to take my president in my arms, as his mother would surely do, i’m so very glad that michelle obama is there to give him comfort.

My heart is heavy as are many others. I find this totally unbelievable in the “exceptional” country of US of A. ANYBODY who says the President should do more needs to STFU. This shit has been decades in the making, you can only turn the other cheek so many times. So, where’s the NRA who says people have 2nd amendment rights? crickets!!!

While no sane person would want to be in PBO’s shoes (no offence PBO), there are those who want the job desperately and who could not do the job he has done since 2009 despite the blatant DISRESPECT and lack of cooperation he has had to deal with. Some people (azzhats) forget conveniently that he is the PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES not just for black people. STEP BACK. I don’t care if you voted for him, recognize reality. The likes of those 2-bit hustlers-types should be doing for the people not lining their own pockets (Smiley etal.), if they have such concern.

I truly hope justice will be served in this case and the police officer will at least be charged shortly, it might calm things a bit, but the prosecutor cannot be that man in the office now because he is apparently not trusted given his past as per reports.

I thank you for reading my rambling bit, but had to get it out.

God bless you all, good night.

That sure covers what is happening Dudette – unbelievable. I am remembering when the police/politician(singular) incited violence in my town was in early 1970s – supporting SA apartheid – first and last time (I hope).

This is so similar – such unwanted memories – I so feel for those who are now reliving the 1960s USA.

There’s immportant backstory information coming out that is explaining a lot about this situation. Most important is a white paper by ArchCity Defenders specifically mentioning Ferguson and their tactics in raising money off of black citizens. This is starting to get media coverage and will blow the cover off of the practices along with the unbelievable behavior going on with policing units that are responding to the protesters. If Ferguson PD thinks they can hunker down and point fingers at the blacks in the city or protesters they are incredibly mistaken.

ArchCity Defenders represents the indigent on a pro bono basis in criminal and civil legal matters while working closely with social service providers to connect clients with services…..

….Three courts, Bel-Ridge, Florissant, and Ferguson, were chronic offenders and serve as prime examples of how these practices violate fundamental rights of the poor, undermine public confidence in the judicial system, and create inefficiencies. We have chosen to focus this paper on these three courts…..

  43. August 19, 2014 at 2:44 am

This is a Newsweek article based on the ArchCity Defenders white paper.

….ArchCity Defenders, which has tracked ticketing of St. Louis area residents for five years and focused primarily on vehicle violations, started a court-watching program because so many of its clients complained of traffic prosecution wreaking havoc on their lives. Defendants routinely alleged that a racially-motivated traffic stop led to their being jailed due to inability to pay traffic fines, which in turn prompted people to “los[e] jobs and housing as a result of the incarceration.”….

Here’s a link to a video showing Michael Brown paying for his cigars. I can’t see a date stamp on the video tho so I’m not going to tweet it. The discussion is about multiple cameras in the store and the police only using a few of them. I’m tired, maybe I’m just not seeing the facts. I just wanted to let you know. It’s irrelevant to the shooting because the policeman didn’t know about the robbery. He doesn’t have any excuse. It would debunk the smears, support Michael’s character and that he wouldn’t have a reason to run or fight the policeman because of it.

    • August 19, 2014 at 3:42 am

Please delete my comment and that video. What was I thinking? There is enough going around without adding in some video that could be doctored. I can’t find proof of it and it’s just part of what happened. The clerk needs to testify to say what actually happened. Sorry! I’m too tired — will go to bed. Peace everyone.

Just finished watching a fascinating panel discussion on Aljazeera. Both the anchor and the three black panelists laid threadbare the ugly side of american police system and how the young blacks have zero trust in them. The anchor asked pointed questions and let all the panelists actually address those questions without stupid interruptions. If only the US media were just as professional.

Woke to exactly what I figured would go on last night, although I honestly did not expect that they’d roll through neighborhoods lobbing tear gas at the sight of any walking human being. HOW is this legal?? How is this not against every single civil right of the citizens of Ferguson? How do you lift a curfew and then gas folks for being outside? How is standing in place protesting ILlegal? Is there a law that says these folks have to walk while protesting? How do you gas a neighborhood where people are sleeping/ residing in their homes?? And I’m sorry, but Capt Johnson is no better than any other law enforcement person in that town. How do they justify mass attacks/ punishment?

Former School Board member and only AA that was on the board until he resigned earlier this year was just on CNN. He said that Michael McDonald of the Doobie Brothers was born in Ferguson. He said that the song ” Takin it to the Streets ” was about Ferguson.

You don’t know me but I’m your brother
I was raised here in this living Hell
You don’t know my kind in your world
Fairly soon, the time will tell

You, telling me the things you’re gonna do for me
    I ain’t blind and I don’t like what I think I see

    Takin’ it to the streets
    Takin’ it to the streets
    Takin’ it to the streets

CNN just interviewed one of the patologists that explained the shots to Michael Brown’s body. She asked what he needed that he did not get . He said the clothing of Michael Brown. The police car…and the report from Officer Wilson, not some ” friends ” account of what happened.

After the segment ended… Up next: ” Friends of Michael Brown ” tell us what happened. “
