Dianne Feinstein! Go Fight In Iraq Yourself!!!!

Dianne Feinstein, Go fight in Iraq yourself!

by @zizii2

****

I, and many Americans, have had it up to our eyeballs with greedy Military Industrial Complex shills like Dianne Feinstein!! What the hell is wrong with these MIC stooges, regardless of party affiliation? And Dianne Feinstein’s incessant disrespect towards the leader of her own party and President of this country is all the more unforgivable! Did she stop to look in the mirror to examine that her own shortsighted votes in Congress metastasized the deep canker tearing the Middle East apart? Or worse that her greedy actions to shovel taxpayer $$$ to defense contractors like her husband have nasty consequences?

feinstein 2

****

How many Americans does she want DEAD and MAIMED just when President Obama has toiled to clean up the mess of the last blunder of a war under George Bush, that she voted for? It is bad enough that we have war snake oil salesmen McCain, Graham and Mike Rogers preening daily in front of cameras without being held accountable for their dangerous and always inconsistent warmongering statements. They wanted us arming ISIS to the teeth in Syria last year. Now they turn around and Chicken Little about ISIS in Iraq means the Caliphate is at America’s doorstep!! Sheesh!!

****

How about we get a buy-in from the many factions inside the strained powder keg that is Iraq, especially Sunnis who are vital to any strategy to root out ISIS? They must be assured that their interests are better served in a national coalition with Shia and Kurds AGAINST ISIS precisely because ISIS is claiming to act on their behalf having been shut out of power by Al Maliki’s government. That delicate cultivation of a NATIONAL front against the terrorists is EXACTLY what President Obama is working on in order to neutralize the potential for BLOWBACK that sustained military action against ISIS could generate. But NO!!! Dianne Feinstein finds cheap thrill in playing to the cameras of our moribund media. The conniving media then latches onto her words like they did Hillary’s 3 weeks ago to malign President Obama.

****

I fear for this country come 2016. I fear that we may indeed have to choose between weak-kneed candidates from either party who care more about vanity catcalls to be “tough” from irresponsible media and war profiteers, than deal with complex global problems with surgical precision. And we all know the disastrous results of the lure of waving phalluses, than being diligent statesmen and women.

Dianne Feinstein and her fellow 1%ers are hellbent on never giving us ordinary Americans breathing space to recover our disappearing economic security. No they suck and suck and suck at the teat of our government to fatten their coffers while sending us to be cannon fodder for their wars.

feinstein 3

Sick sick sick!!!

***UPDATE***

The White House hit back at the neo-con warmongers with a very fine retort

Kinda surprised that the blackademics didn’t make a fuss over Rosa Parks’ items being sold to the highest bidder seeing as they are so in tuned with all things black. I can’t even go online without hearing about how they want to protect our legacy and stuff. Just sayin’.

I mean Melisa Harris Perry has a two hour show on MSNBC and she couldn’t say hey, “Rosa Parks’ legacy is about to be sold and we need to do something about it.” But no! She and the other members of the “Soul Patrol” spend all of their time bashing President Obama.

When this sale first occurred, I read that Buffett’s son bought them because he believes they should be preserved and displayed for the world to see. He is searching for the correct venue. These treasures include her diary and notes on living in the South as a black woman. I hope there are some women historians who will get permission to research her papers and bring Parks more fully to the world. I remember seeing a super smart AA woman historian on PBS, don’t remember her name, but these papers will be a treasure trove! Buffett’s motives are good. Perhaps Howard U or Spellman…….or another worthy university will be the recipient. This will enrich us all.

Buffett was afraid they would just rot and molder in a warehouse and they would all be lost. The trove includes a pillbox hat which is believed to be the one she was wearing in the iconic photograph.

I read that also carolyn – included some detail that the family couldn’t decide what to do or how to share – so they ended up rotting away in a warehouse waiting for a buyer.

Great piece, Zizi, I never knew her husband was a military contractor until today. I just thought she was against the President because of some blind obedience to the Clinton Cabal and not because her husband stands to make billions on war.

    • August 31, 2014 at 3:32 pm

Thank you, Zizi. Excellent detailed and not good news but it certainly needs to be out there. I did not know this financial personal interest she has. Reveals that her disrespect and dishonesty toward our President is venal as well as vile. Destructive and unconscionable too.

You hit the nail squarely on the head, Zizi. As the senior senator from California, Feinstein could pick up the phone and dial the president AT ANY TIME and discuss her issues privately. But that would be too respectful and informative for her. No..she’s got to air her laundry on a television show so she can cause maximum negative noise for the president just when Democrats are facing a do or die election in November. That tells me that she cares nothing for her party or her country, much less HER president and she is all in it for her own and her husband’s enrichment and because she ‘can.’ California has been stuck with this dinosaur for far too long. It’s long past time for CA voters to demand a real Demo to represent them in the Senate.

I don’t know how many of you share my fury at this sort of thing, but the lead editorial in today’s New York Times epitomizes the tendency of the press to try to find a way to blame on Barack Obama for policy outcomes over which he has little or no control. In this case, the complaint is that AmeriCorps, the national service program that Bill Clinton started and Obama championed during the 2008 campaign, has failed to grow to the size authorized by a bipartisan bill Obama signed in 2009.

This is surely a lamentable state of affairs. But who, exactly, is responsible? The Times blames “Washington disfunction” but mostly singles out Obama:

As you all know….they are lazy liars…then, tucked in there, as an afterthought( as the writer of this post points out) there’s this little truth nugget:

And of course, the Republican-controlled House now routinely passes budget resolutions that would eliminate AmeriCorps, as well as the Corporation for National and Community Service that oversees the program.

Screw them all. Seriously. They do NOT work for the people providing information to inform citizens with FACTS….WE ARE THE TRUE MEDIA NOW!

Thanks zizi for the righteous rant and informative piece about what’s really motivating Feinstein’s repeated TV appearances, trying to push for an unnecessary war while tearing down the President. Where are all the bleeding heart liberals from CA calling Feinstein out? I don’t see them anywhere…

  14. August 31, 2014 at 3:46 pm

Righteous rant, zizi…an excellent expression of the anger and frustration felt by many of us.

I hope that people quickly realize how much President Obama and his administration have protected us from the unthoughtful and reckless objectives of these MIC shills. Thank goodness their weekly ramblings on the Sunday talk shows have not led to the actions for which they are pushing. They must have made some promises that have yet to be fulfilled because their constant attacks wreak of desperation.

Let me add my thanks for this important post, zizi. I commented on this yesterday, but had no idea about her husband’s ties to the defense industry and the MIC…there is something very chilling and wicked about an elected member of congress…a US Senator, no less….personally benefiting from acts of war in any manner or fashion….both from a financial aspect and a human aspect…I’m certain that she’s not the only one…but she is the Dem that out on the television spouting crap about her party’s President, rather than pick up the phone and have that private conversation. She needs to go…she is way past her done date. A new, forward thinking progressive Democrat more like Barbara Boxer would be fine.

    http://crooksandliars.com/2014/08/dianne-feinstein-claims-obama-too-cautious

Basically, PBO’s response to her nonsense:

the Obama Administration refuses to be rushed on this:

White House senior adviser Dan Pfeiffer said Obama will continue to move at his own speed to respond to these crises, regardless of criticism. “There’s no timetable for solving these problems that’s going to meet the cable news cycle speed,” he said. “It’s not a tenable thing. We’d much rather do this right than do it quickly. We tried the opposite [during the Bush years] and it worked out very poorly.”

This week, Obama will have an opportunity to show global leadership at a crisis-packed summit with European allies. Immediately afterward, Secretary of State John F. Kerry will travel to the Middle East, where potential partners, waiting to see whether Obama has the capacity to chart a clear, decisive course, are hoping for direction.

As the administration heads into those meetings, Kerry offered crisp and forceful marching orders. “Airstrikes alone won’t defeat this enemy,” he wrote in a Saturday op-ed article in the New York Times. “A much fuller response is demanded from the world. We need to support Iraqi forces and the moderate Syrian opposition, who are facing ISIS on the front lines.”

Wonder if she’ll apologize if it turns out that she was wrong…. Oh, never mind.

Precisely. The investment portfolios of elected officials should be matter of public record, regulation and debate; what they are invested in, and how much they profit subsequent to the military misadventures they so wholeheartedly endorse. The fact that the media rarely, if ever, touches on this is an absolute disgrace. It’s easy to be shameless when you’re never held to account.

My point exactly on the previous thread. I’m becoming less inclined to send money to the Dems when they do not stand up for our party leader. What’s the point if they don’t have his back. I’m sick of the lot of them. Instead of finding out what Democrats think, they believe the MSM who seem to have it in for PBO. They are beginning to look more and more like Republicans.

Bob. I have been waiting for the answer to the question of what the world will do about the Russian invasion of Ukraine. It’s a fact, been established, so what are the consequences for the aggressor? I hope the answer comes out of the meetings this week.

      • August 31, 2014 at 5:51 pm

” It’s a fact, been established, so what are the consequences for the aggressor?”

Agree, Jackie. Fact of Putin’s War on Ukraine is incontrovertible.

We know direct American and NATO military engagement with the Russians is impractical, to say the least.

However, if we denied Russian banks any access to credit and closed their access to SWIFT (http://www.swift.com/index.page?lang=en) Vlad would face immediate, harsh consequences at home. That, plus providing every form of military aid to Ukraine possible, short of combatants, are for me the measures that make the most sense.

If you get to the age of 81, and the best way you can find to spend a holiday weekend is going on cable TV and bashing a sensible President (whose party you supposedly belong to) then you have NOT lived a good life and there is something fundamentally wrong with you.

You nailed it jackieG., and hopefruit2. This vessel of meanness of spirit pulls this crap whenever it is in her best of interest. Thank goodness that we have such beautiful and brilliant minds to expose these vile vessels of destruction. I have Never liked her for many, many years. She knows the exact steps to President Barack Obama’s Oval Office. She is disrespectful to the office and to him as President.

She has a stronghold out here on the west coast. I called her office once during a vote, and her staff was very impolite to me. However, I know someone who helped me to get through in a very calm and polite manner to her and I expressed my feeling on the subject of the vote. Since that time, she has never sent me another regular email. However, my other Senator, Barbara Boxer’s office communicates with me all the time, no matter what the issues I am concerned about. Always.

POB knows his friends and foes, believe me; but he is a man with a decent core and he will not participate in the silliness of DC. He just will not. But they better be very careful. PBO is no little ‘boy’ to take lightly. He can make some shit hit the fan. The foolish people just will not learn or listen to this president. By the way, that is another way of being disrespectful to this president.

I have no use for Sen. Diane Feinstein; however, I will be in touch with my sources and surely when the senator returns to DC., will have heard from this little senior. I may have pain that causes me to call on the Almighty, but I also have a streak in me that will allow me to call on the strength of the mull that will tear the hell up in your space.

Frankly, speaking I did not like the attitude of my senior senator at the First Inauguration of this president. I thought it was just me, but I checked in with these very dear and powerful friends who were in attendance and sat two seats from my great niece, and they felt the same vibes. I am forgiving, but so far, my memory still paints a great photo for my brain to speak volumes to my aging gentle mind. Just was not right in that space, that is Sen. Feinstein. Go back and watch it sometimes, if you so desire.

Money speaks volumes all over this state as well ; but I am counting on seeing a bad new face of Hope, Courage, Message, and Humility within their core who will inspire the new and young generation of my state to escort Sen. Feinstein to the door. I am not being mean, but I am speaking truth. Politics is politics, but this was a show one too many this morning of Shitmanship. And I am tired of it. But the ballot box has power as long as we are dedicated to seek out the person worth us getting off our bottoms and going to the polls. And making sure we have prepared ourselves on the facts and get others prepared to also get to the polls where the ballot is waiting for them to make the change. Now that is the work to be done.

Have a nice evening/morning TOD family. Be not discouraged, but stand up tall, back well centered, mind alert, and speak your power with your ballot after registering all the young people you can. Do not be grateful for stale political breadcrumbs. Eat well today because that meal might be the one to give you fuel to work a few more days to keep and really have this president’s back. I love you all. HZ

Zizi, I try to keep this perspective all the time. The truly great presidents who tried to accomplish major changes have always been vilified. Those who just sit on their rears and act like good old boys don’t get nearly as many constant insults. But our president said he didn’t run for President to “be” something, he ran to “do” something. He’s doing great things and many simply can’t cope.

Thanks for this ZiZi. I too fear for 2016, whether it be a Dem or Repub. Very few politicians have the wherewithal to ignore all the bs and do what’s right. You’d think we would have learned from Irag, which by the way is in large part the reason for ISIL, but here we go again with cries for yet another war when we still aren’t out of Afghanistan. Doesn’t this all sound very familiar? I only pray that PBO can put together the coalition he needs to deal with this threat in the remaining two+ years of his presidency. I have an Iraqi friend from Khurdistan who is now a US citizen and he thinks this whole mess is not going to get solved anytime in the foreseeable future. His family still lives in Khurdistan and he talks to them daily. He doesn’t think any of the supposed “leaders” in Iraq can hold the country together, only another Saddam can do it. And he believes this despite the fact that Saddam’s forces killed one of his brothers when he was 19. Then you’ve got Putin doing his thing and Bibi doing the biggest real estate grab in 30 years. What a mess. . I shudder to think of the places we’d have our military if these hawks had their way.

      What about Turkey?

There were unconfirmed reports that it was Turkey which bombed ISIS just before President Obama’s statement a few weeks ago that the US would provide humanitarian aid to those refugees stranded on Sinjar Mountain.

Bobfr posted this yesterday and said “Powerful, both symbolically and strategically …”

Also see earlier comments today from Bobfr and Carolyn about how fierce the Turkish army is.

      • 59 FoxfireTX
        August 31, 2014 at 5:20 pm

You would certainly think that the ME countries would be more concerned than the US. The irony in all this craziness, of course, is other than possibly Turkey and I believe a couple of countries helped with the most recent humanitarian aid, the US is the ONLY Western country that is out there actually doing something! But it is never enough for the hawks, or those who always are looking to criticize PBO. Of course, it is also these same politicians who refused to take a vote on Syria a year ago. For all their bluster, they are too chickenshit to back it up with a vote much less make actual strategic decisions.

        • 60 arapaho415
          August 31, 2014 at 5:28 pm

My level of frustration with the MSM grows deeper every day.

Busy Americans cannot be expected to recall which politicians said what a year ago. It’s the MSM’s job to remind their audience, yet there is NO pushback when the likes of McCain and Feinstein say “Obama should be thus and so.”

MSM still believe that not bombing/supplying rebels arms Syria was a “blunder” and they’re sticking to their story.

CBS radio news has reported all day that the Administration “struggles” for a Syria strategy without once mentioning why this is important to the US, except to broadcast John Mc”Doom”Cain’s warnings that ISIS is a bigger threat than 9/11.

      • August 31, 2014 at 6:03 pm

Turkey controls access to the Black Sea and the Mediterranean via the Bosphorus Strait. They already despise Putin for what he has done to the Tatars and for his support of Assad. The strategic implications are enormous and, coupled with the fact that Turkey is a NATO member and Turkish military is absolutely ruthless makes them a linchpin ally in curbing Putin’s ambitions (as well as annihilating ISIS/ISIS).

        • 62 FoxfireTX
          August 31, 2014 at 7:16 pm

PBO has worked hard to strengthen the relationship with Turkey but don’t know if it has done him much good to date. Hopefully it will pay off for him/us on a number of fronts. Anyone who thinks he is not “strategic” has their heads up their asses.

Whose expectation was it that PBO would end this country’s racial divide? If HRC had been elected in 2008, would the expectation have been that she would end sexism…and would she have been able to do it?

Free will puts the onus of ending the racial divide on each individual. Making impossible feats such as this the responsibility of this President is just a way to create opportunities to point out what he hasn’t been able to accomplished.

        THIS! Thank you PrettyFoot!

That comment from NBC has to be one of the most ignorant things I’ve read in awhile. I could be wrong here, because we have seen foolishness from all corners, but I’m guessing this was written by a fresh-out-of-college white northeastern male intern. I don’t think a black person, even a PBO criticizing one, could have written something that naive and silly about “America’s Racial Divide”

        • August 31, 2014 at 7:00 pm

It matters not who is saying it….the message is clear….blame the victim…it is what America does when talking about racism…white privilege is rarely addressed

Very true, PrettyFoot. It doesn’t make a difference who wrote it. The statement was just so loaded with multiple levels of ignorance and disconnectedness, I was trying to imagine who would even say it, and how they could have a job tweeting for a news organization. But, I know the answer to that question: this is nothing new. And pushing these kind of narratives, along with their requisite PBO bashing, is what we’ve unfortunately come to expect from the news entertainment industry, no matter who is doing the messaging.

Zizi, As stated up-thread superb treatise. As always follow the money. Its always been, and is, an inside game.

What others are calling ‘negativity’ is actually investigative, fact-based journalism. Yes, change is hard, for practitioner and recipient.

“A look at terminology might help. In the past several days, a term has forced its way through — into Putin’s mouth and straight onto state television broadcasts. No longer do Russians hear about the Donetsk People’s Republic, the term favored by the rebels, and their Kremlin masters, since the conflict began. Suddenly, we’re talking about “Novorossiya,” which translates as “New Russia.” It’s a Tsarist-era delineation that encompassed several southern Russian regions and parts of Ukraine (including Donetsk and Lugansk, among others). What matters most to Putin is total and explicit allegiance — whether the territory is technically part of Russia or not”.

Zizi, I thank you for this. You spoke what many in America needed to hear especially after Sen. Feinstein had the audacity to say such disrespectable and reckless words toward POB. She constantly troubles the waters and causes an unnecessary blame game on this Administration. You spoke it again today, and thank you so much. Truth is a righteous mover.

Gotta hand it to these Ukrainians, they are not going to roll over for anyone ….

    “Force won’t help

The invasion of the regular troops was not a walk in the park for Putin’s army. They will be rebuked and will continue losing.

It seems Putin doesn’t understand that he won’t be able to retain Ukraine using force. The same way his plan on Maidan was a fiasco. He might not fully comprehend that he is forcing the Ukrainian people and government to move no more to Europe but as far as possible to Russia. Every day there are more supporters for the Euro-Atlantic choice among those that until recently believed Putin like themselves. He is giving the Ukrainians an anti-Russian world vaccine. He is rejecting the very myths he spent so much effort on.”

Not breaking, but the entire news media is really doing an all out, constant attack on PBO and Dems. I know this is not news, but I have never seen anything like it. It is the most maddening and outrageous reporting ever. Every day. Every channel. I had on CBS for a minute and there was John Dickerson giving a real negative report on Dem chance to hold the Senate. And then launched into the familiar anti-Obama spiel—-that PBO is So Unpopular that he can’t appear or help any Dem candidates, is only good for fund raising. Switched to NBC and first a report that Repub disgusting human Oberweis gaining in the polls on Durbin and then showing the black pastor of a big church praising and endorsing Oberweis at the service today, arm around him, congregation applauding, altho tepidly. Then right into PBO being criticized by Both Parties on foreign policy, airing Difi’s MTP criticisms, then a comment that there is a serious concern that PBO’s reluctance to act may result in an ISIS attack in the U.S. That is preposterous—- irresponsible, unethical reporting. What in the world is going on? MIC? This is out of control. I hope Dem voters show up in droves and stomp these false message peddlers into the dirt. Please, please, please.

Hi dotster3. I guess it is as many called. They are desperate and are throwing everything out there to dampen enthusiasm. I too pray it does not work, just as it did not work in 2008. Whew! Remember that- it was bad, everything AND the kitchen sink.

Another thing is they do not seem to understand how tired the American people are of WAR. Who will feed and educate our children. Our crumbling infrastructure needs tending. Funny too and also how the laud Rand Paul and his anti war stance (borders on isolationism), then bash the President for similar desire to avoid constant war ( build partners and coalitions). Hang in there everybody it’s going to be a bumpy ride into November 2014.

      • August 31, 2014 at 6:49 pm

dotster3, Of course, I’m hearing the same thing. You did a good wrap up of ALL of them. I finally changed to SEC Network…….getting ready for kickoff of VOLS first game. elo4, You did a great job of reminding us of what they always try to do. Did it in ’08 and again in ’12. Didn’t work either time, did it??? I think they are desperate.

    • August 31, 2014 at 7:10 pm

they are terrified with that report this week from the honest poll watchers that the Dems have a 70 percent chance of keeping the Senate.

goes against all the ‘meme’ that the GOP is pushing a ‘wave’.

    • August 31, 2014 at 7:24 pm

the Durbin Poll was from an outfit associated with the ILLINOIS MANUFACTURERS ASSOCIATION..

Meaning, it’s a GOP polling outfit.

We see things in the same way.
It seems like a major pile-on to me. It is coming at us from every direction.

From the RW neo-con Clinton Dems, we have the likes of Diane Feinstein. Diane and this repulsive crew is badmouthing PBO. Luckily, a war weary world is not that interested in her whining.

From the media who are fully aware that the tea party time has come and gone, who have moved on now to extoling the Libertarian bs.
      Or they are attacking POTUS.
Or they spread bogus polling with bogus predictions to discourage Democrats.

I may be way off base but I think that all of these groups imagine themselves in a battle to finally beat PBO.

In my view it is not only The President they aim to destroy. It is our entire system of representative democracy.

Thank you for this excellent and informative rant Zizi! I also wasn’t aware of the conflict of interest from Dianne Feinstein’s husband.

I have held my nose and voted for DF way too many times. I know we’re not huge WJC fans around here these days, but when the Lewinsky scandal broke she was one of the first to jump ship and start criticizing. Been tired, tired, tired of her self-serving BS for WAY too long.

I have become SOOOO disappointed in Lester Holt recently! And Kristen Welker is always negative, whatever she’s reporting on. No knowledge, no balance, no understanding, just mouthing talking points.

However, we watched ABC news tonight. None of that negativity, just news and pictures. Broadcast ended on a positive story of a woman in North Carolina who is reviving the textile industry in her town. David Muir takes over as anchor tomorrow night. We will be watching him, if any broadcast. Brian Williams is totally snark. Watch his eyebrows.
