I am livid! I was out today and have just returned to read that another fence jumper made an attempt today.
From CNN: On Saturday, in the second security incident at the White House in as many days, an individual failed to stop at the entrance to the White House complex while driving his vehicle, Secret Service spokesman Brian Leary said.
The man, identified as Kevin Carr of Shamong, New Jersey, was arrested and charged with unlawful entry, Leary said. According to Leary, Carr is either 18 or 19 years old.
The incident happened at the entrance at 15th and E Streets, where the driver did not stop when the Secret Service ordered him to do so, Leary said.
The man’s car did not hit the barriers at the entrance, and he then exited the vehicle, Leary said.
Carr was arrested after he refused to leave, Leary said.
The Secret Service said it would interview personnel and review policies and security procedures following the fence-jumping incident.
The agency said its director, Julia Pierson, ordered additional patrol officers around the White House complex. This happened before Saturday’s security incident.
Now, what’s going on? Since when the WH fence had become an attraction for wackos, crazies, illuminés, and lost fools from New Jersey???
Somebody should be fired over these repeated incidents. And definitely, the fences need to be risen twice their height and, as per advice from the GOP once, electrified.

Canine teams are trained to have the dog in position to be released within four seconds of the alarm sounding. The dog is trained to act as a missile, launching in the air to knock the subject down, and then biting an arm or leg if need be to subdue the person until the handler arrives.
But the dog was not released in this case, according to officials’ review of the event and video evidence from Friday night. The Secret Service’s security review will look closely at why.
“We’re asking, why not release the dog?” said one law enforcement person who is reviewing the incident. “That would have stopped this.”

What I do know is that I cannot replace him. I don’t have the energy or the ability to post the quality of the material Marty produces here on a regular basis for however long it takes for Marty to return. However, all of us - you and I - who are members of the Frog Pond, as a community, do. There are any number of great writers and political analysts and just good old-timey, bring-the-house-down preachers here to fill the void Martin’s enforced absence has created until he can recover and kick us off his lawn.
