On This Day: President Barack Obama waves after addressing a large crowd at a campaign event at the University of Wisconsin in Madison, October 4, 2025
****
Update: I missed Shaun’s tweets from last night, having seen them now they just confirm to me that he has an agenda - for him, Ferguson isn’t about justice for Michael Brown, it’s an opportunity to attack the President. There are no words.
****
Morning everyone! I found this reply from Shaun King in pending this morning, so here you go:
Thanks for your thoughts. Do we know each other? I’ve been an enormous, ride or die Obama supporter for a decade. I volunteered for his campaign in Georgia, gave financially, and have defended him publicly and privately at great length.
I’m all for discourse, but you have a few errors here.
I never said that Ferguson was Obama’s Katrina. The tweet you quoted was over 45 days old. At that point, the President hadn’t sent Holder or the DOJ and the government was virtually silent and the ugliness of the police was growing worse daily.
When I wrote that tweet I meant it. Since then, though, the President has made a few remarks about Ferguson and sent Holder. It is not his Katrina.
Next, you suggest that I criticize him in everything I do. That is patently false.
In my most viewed posts on this, Obama is never mentioned ::
storify.com/laurahib/shaun-king
storify.com/VeryWhiteGuy/shaunking-exposes-ferguson-pd-lie-about-distance-f
Finally, my argument today isn’t that Obama is responsible. That’s outrageous. Out of the 125 tweets I wrote he has almost nothing to do with them. Far from it. I was communicating that the politics of the entire situation are tricky on several levels, and they are. It’s a real mess on every level.
Finally, when did I say that he doesn’t know anything about racism? Also, don’t demean what I know and have experienced myself in my lifetime.
I respect the President. I’m friends with men and women who work for him now and worked for him in the past. He’s always open to critical thinking and particularly welcomes it from those who actually support him. That’s me.
Take care,
Shaun

Thanks for your reply Shaun, appreciated.
A few things.
“I never said that Ferguson was Obama’s Katrina.”
President Obama, in my opinion, is close to Ferguson becoming his Katrina if it hasn’t already. He must be there very soon.
— Shaun King (@ShaunKing) August 18, 2025
****
“The tweet you quoted was over 45 days old. At that point, the President hadn’t sent Holder or the DOJ and the government was virtually silent…..”
Michael Brown was murdered on August 9, your tweet was on August 18, this was AG Holder’s statement on August 11:
“The shooting incident in Ferguson, Missouri this weekend deserves a fulsome review. In addition to the local investigation already underway, FBI agents from the St. Louis field office, working together with attorneys from the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division and US Attorney’s Office, have opened a concurrent, federal inquiry. The federal investigation will supplement, rather than supplant, the inquiry by local authorities. At every step, we will work with the local investigators, who should be prepared to complete a thorough, fair investigation in their own right. I will continue to receive regular updates on this matter in the coming days. Aggressively pursuing investigations such as this is critical for preserving trust between law enforcement and the communities they serve.”
And this was the President’s statement on August 12:
“The death of Michael Brown is heartbreaking, and Michelle and I send our deepest condolences to his family and his community at this very difficult time. As Attorney General Holder has indicated, the Department of Justice is investigating the situation along with local officials, and they will continue to direct resources to the case as needed. I know the events of the past few days have prompted strong passions, but as details unfold, I urge everyone in Ferguson, Missouri, and across the country, to remember this young man through reflection and understanding. We should comfort each other and talk with one another in a way that heals, not in a way that wounds. Along with our prayers, that’s what Michael and his family, and our broader American community, deserve.”
So, to suggest that by the time you made the Katrina claim that the Obama administration was “virtually silent” on Ferguson, and was doing nothing, was just plain wrong. And dishonest.
Michael was murdered on a Saturday, the FBI arrived in Ferguson on the Monday after. That soon. And AG Holder, presumably at the President’s direction, was vocal and involved from the start - for example, if I remember correctly, the day before your Katrina tweet, he authorized an additional autopsy of Michael Brown by a federal medical examiner. Remember the abuse he got from the right? Remember how the President was berated for ‘involving’ himself in the case?
****
“Next, you suggest that I criticize him in everything I do. That is patently false.”
Where did I suggest that? I didn’t. I asked why you were tweeting stuff like the Katrina comment and remarks like this:
This honestly goes all the way to President Obama, the Democratic Party, presidential aspirations, and much more.
— Shaun King (@ShaunKing) October 3, 2025
Again, you bring the President in to it. And the Democratic Party, as a whole, not just local Democrats culpable in this. That’s puzzling, to me.
You’ve become a powerful voice on Ferguson, but you use it to direct people’s sense of injustice in entirely the wrong place.
Why do you do that?
While the case is ongoing, and the Grand Jury is sitting, what more can the President do - other than what he has done already?
He is restricted in this by his position and the law. He is not free to march or protest or tweet or emote. He is the President.
He could use his powers to involve the AG, DoJ and FBI in this.
And he has done all that.
Can he sit in on the Grand Jury deliberations and urge them to ensure Darren Wilson stands trial?
No.
So, tell us, what more could he do at this point?
****
“Finally, when did I say that he doesn’t know anything about racism?”
You didn’t, but implicit in your tweets about the President is the notion that he is indifferent to what has happened and continues to happen in Ferguson, the root of which is racism.
Shaun, only someone who has never experienced racism could be indifferent to it.
And implicit in your Katrina comment was the notion that the President cares as much about the people of Ferguson as Bush did about the people of Louisiana and elsewhere, and that he has been as unresponsive to the situation as Bush was.
I don’t even know where to start with that, so I won’t.
But I remain baffled as to why you targeted the President so personally, and with no justification.
****
“Also, don’t demean what I know and have experienced myself in my lifetime.”
I didn’t. I don’t know anything about you. I just asked that you consider that the most public target of racism on this earth might be familiar with the experience, as he has been through every step of his life.
****
“I respect the President … he’s always open to critical thinking and particularly welcomes it from those who actually support him.”
He does Shaun, but he also welcomes honesty. Try it some time.
****

Howdy!
Hey Carol
I vetivera, looks like we snuck in together.
But you turned the Door handle Carol.
;)
Helloooooo CarolMae, helloooooooo everyone!
Sorry for the delay in today’s posts, after a sleepless night it’s been a busy day!
Sleepless night, did you get to the Vet on time for your wedding? ;)
Dear Chips,
Firstly, stop apologizing!!!
Secondly, I am so glad you and Danny are reunited. Have had two similar experiences in my 67 years and both were heart-wrenching to say the least. In both cases, we found our buddy, but the interval between lost and found will never, ever be forgotten for how painful those hours were.
Finally, Mr S King should absolutely NEVER mess with us and better get a clue about both social media and the power of modern search tools. He publishes crap, he’s gonna eat the crap as long as those of us dedicated to the truth inhabit the earth. dKos is the perfect cesspool for the dude.
Thank you for being so dedicated to the President, his Family, all of us, Danny, and the truth!!
#FORWARD Together
bbl …. another busy day for me, as well ……
Ooooooh Bob, love ya! With all the horrors in the world, my Danny experience is so teeny, but my heart is still thumping. Any way, all’s good, he’s home, and busy snoring after his adventure.
Thanks Bob, you’re the best.
Uh oh, I better start reading earlier posts. Sorry to make light of something serious. :-(
What happened with sweet, Danny??? I hope he is ok.
Just went and found out what happened. Sooo glad he is home. We have been living this nightmare for almost four weeks now. My son’s cat snuck out one night and hasn’t come home yet. We have searched, posted signs, checked the shelter-nothing. It is devastating. And then a little over a week ago we had to say goodbye to our faithful puppy companion of 15 years. So you tell Danny no more scares. Glad he is home with you where he belongs!
Oh MomSense, so so sorry about all this sadness, you must be heartbroken after losing your dog, and your son’s cat going missing. It’s at times like that I envy people who don’t love animals, they are spared a whole heap of pain. Look after yourself MomSense, so sorry again.
MomSense, If you read this, just know that I am visualizing your son’s kitty finding its way home to you! 12 years ago, I was searching for my four-year-old kitty when my 19-year-old kitty passed on. I know exactly what you are going through.
Lots of love from our house >^..^<
Fantastic job, Chips, You’re a real fighter.
Not sure why he’s repeating the lie that POTUS/FEDS had not responded when he wrote that tweet. He was corrected LAST NIGHT on Twitter.
Ah GB, thank you, thank you, thank you. King has been doing such great work on this case, but when I saw him dragging PBO in to it AGAIN yesterday, I really could take no more. It’s very bizarre to me. As for repeating the lie …. what on earth is he at?
this is one of the powers of twitter and social media…being able to confront the jive that is peddled….
Thank you MsChips for being one of the Marchers for Justice
and I am glad that you found Danny…safe from harm…I know how much he means to you….((hugs to you and Danny))
Endless thank yous Prettyfoot, hugs right back at ya!
Hellooo Miz Chips so, so glad to hear DannyStix is back home safe and sound.
I see Mr. King appears to suffer from the same malady affecting most politicians and pundits: denyin’, justifyin’, goalpoast shiftin’ with the whole “I am the President’s most hardcore, bestest ever, most strongest supporter in the whole wide world and so are my friends, so there!” cherry on top. Please. I was smirking to myself as I read his reply on the prior post, thinking, no dude this mansplainin’ you’re doing right now is just going to reopen the can of whupass. And voila.
And this in particular made me laugh out loud:
“I was communicating that the politics of the entire situation are tricky on several levels, and they are. It’s a real mess on every level.”
Really? I didn’t get that either explicitly or implicitly from his tweets. He might need to brush up on those communication skills.
As always thank you Miz Chips and the TOD BTs for bringing truth and facts in this lovely little corner of the Intertoobz and calling out those that need calling out.
Hugs to you and Danny
Purpleshoesla, completely great to see you. And your comment made me howl, you are Yardarmish in your way with words. Forensic, too. Hope all’s great with you.
Congrats Carol :)
Thanks Bob. :)
Afterno on folks
Happy Saturday, everyone!
Is POTUS playing golf today?
What?
Pardon me everyone but I can’t type, can’t proofread. . .
Brilliant response Chips. You are a wonderful advocat for this president in so many ways.
He seems to have picked up some of the techniques of obfuscation as his new blog home. Doesn’t appear to work here. Hey all y’all : )
Chips, what happened to Danny?? I completely missed that!
Vomiting passenger cleared of Ebola after CDC investigation at Newark Airport
http://www.nydailynews.com/sick-passenger-examined-ebola-newark-airport-article-1.1963383?utm_content=buffer0524e&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter.com&utm_campaign=NYDailyNewsTw
There are 7,631 reasons why someone may vomit on a flight - but it seems Ebola! is taking over from Benghazi! as the media catch cry.
Exactly. And it’s doing no one any good!
OMG Chips, I just read about Danny! Poor guy, and poor you! Thank goodness he’s back and well.
Thank you LL!!! I. Am. An. Idiot. Cannot believe I didn’t check that damn gate after the delivery guy left, so this was completely my fault. I was probably lucky I wasn’t arrested, sniveling lady walking around at five and six in the morning whistling loudly. Sheesh, I would have called the police! Danny’s got so many hugs today he’s looking at me like I’ve lost the plot - which I did, last night!
SO GLAD DANNY IS BACK CHIPS…MY DOG LIVED 18 YEARS AND I KNOW HOW IT IS TO LOVE THEM SO MUCH!
:-) Thank you so much Sue, I am a very, very relieved and happy bunny!
Chips, I’ve always been proud of you for what you’ve created with this incredible site, for your perseverance, your dedication to the president, your willingness to absorb a lot of crap so the rest of us can come here in peace. But today, I’m prouder of you than ever before. You took that response from Shaun, turned it around and fed it back to him in bite-sized pieces. What you did to the guy last night and today was a thing of beauty-a wonder to behold. You may not hear it, but I’m clapping for you right now.
I SECOND THAT EMOTION…YOU DO A BEAUTIFULLY WONDERFUL SERVICE TO OUR PRESIDENT AND OUR COUNTRY CHIPS…I AM THANKFUL TO HAVE A PLACE TO GO WHERE WE HAVE THIS PRESIDENT’S BEST INTERESTS IN COMMON. I WORRY ABOUT HIM OFTEN IN THIS EVER CHANGING AND THREATENING WORLD FILLED WITH NUTCASES!!!!!
I cannot say this any better so I just want to add my agreement. I think Chips is brilliant, compassionate, and articulate. Shaun doesn’t stand a chance when he tries to cloud the issuesor dodge his responsibility for his words with Chips as his interlocutor.
Oh Jackie, you’re just the loveliest. Although, reading the brilliant replies from TODers, I just feel lucky to be hanging out with you most excellent people. Love you all. Evem Amk.
BOOM!!
Thanks very much for this great response, Chips. You really nailed every point.
I could have gone on forever Meta, but it was long enough! Thanks a million.
Chips thanks for putting this egomaniac in his place, not once but TWICE. I guess he’s not used to people pointing out his lies, and so he’s gotten into a chronic pattern of lying about what he said or didn’t say. That much is very evident by his response to your open letter last night.
But it’s clear that your letter struck a nerve, and which is why he realized he might be losing the argument and felt he needed to respond to it personally and promptly. He needs to understand that Twitter is not his usual emoprog/emoblack echo chamber that he might be used to, and it’s certainly not an expanded version of Old Orange. If he’s going to gratuitously attack the President on Twitter, he needs to be prepared for some forceful, well-reasoned push-back.
Thanks a million Hopefruit, I know absolutely nothing about him, so have no clue about his politics, but it’s just astonishing to me how he has dragged PBO in to this, and given him no credit, as far as I am aware, for involving the AG and DoJ. I’m curious.
As someone indicated, he’s using Ferguson to get on national TV - and of course, the formula for getting on National TV these days is to bash PBO, Democrats, - even if it’s completely uncalled for, dishonest, unfair, etc…
As *brilliant* as he may be, Con King simply lacks integrity.
Hey Shaun King, don’t mess with our Chips. She just kicked your ass!! I love you Chips. So glad Danny is okay. I have experiencd that he horror and don’t wish it on anyone.
Thanks a million Jackie, my crazy mutt is safe and sound, but will be paw-cuffed to me from now on when he goes out for a pee :-)
I just saw this on ESPN - lol that damn red carpet trips up a lot of people! Good on him to keep singing.
Chips - Well done on the response to Shaun King. His voice means NOTHING to me today, although I was earlier reading his tweets and I’m all for second chances. Too bad - he had a growing platform and could have used it for the common good. He veered. I don’t even think he would have given up a little of the turf he did here, without knowing your long reach, which is disappointing.
If he has learned from your discourse and from the voices of others that his words were inappropriate, somebody let me know and I’ll catch up with him, again. Until then, I’m ohvah him.
Could not agree more, Jacqueline. I’ve followed his tweets all through this, and I love his passion and his investigative work. But when I see him drop these comments about PBO in to the middle of them, I am at a loss to understand what he’s at. He must surely understand why some, including me, wonder about his agenda.
I find it difficult to believe that the people who whine that PBO “isn’t doing anything” about immigration, closing Guantanamo and Ferguson don’t understand the very basic structure of the US federal 3 branches of government -that every kid leans in 5th grade civics class. Mr. Shaun King is a charlatan imo.
That’s exactly it Forus, and the greatest irony in it all is that the very people who attack us ‘Obots’ are the ones who expect him to be all-powerful and to fix everything. Even us “cultists” know he’s not capable of that - you know, the constitution.
In reading Shaun’s responses to your criticisms I believe I know what he’s at. He plays a concern troll with you. That says it all.
Nice work if you can get it:
THEY ARE DETERMINED TO BRING DOWN THIS PRESIDENT AND THE COUNTRY…WHAT GOES AROUND COMES AROUND…THIS RIDICULOUS,IRRESPONSIBLE DRUNK WILL PAY!…GOD’S JUSTICE IS AMAZINGLY WONDERFUL AND RIGHT ON TIME!
Awesome Chips!
What a grand response, Chips! That last sentence was lights out!
Well…..the president is playing golf today, so some terrorist(s) somewhere in the world today better be very afraid.
Glad he’s relaxing after this busy, busy week.
Uh oh . . . Rest in hell terrorists
99cts, did you hear about this story?
laughed out loud when I completed reading the headline in the article in this tweet;
but the drunk pig also reminded me of the characters in Animal Farm - remember that book ;
MUST BE ONE OF RUSTY’S FRIENDS!
Just read your post Linda - newsworthy events! :)
A few things.
First, like everybody else, I am so glad Danny came back. I know the worry it causes. Looks like this upcoming week we will be making the final decision on Maggie.
Secondly, I actually give Shaun some credit for attempting to defend himself and reaching out. He was civil but made a major error that many people do.
His assumption is that if he did not say the exact words, then he said nothing close to those exact words. True, he didn’t say “Ferguson is Obama’s Katrina”, just that is could become it, if it isn’t there already. Plus the direct statement that he should go there without, of course, saying anything about why or what he should do.
Same thing with the racism issue. He didn’t say Obama was indifferent to those issues, but the implication was definitely there.
It would have been so much better if he had said that he could understand why people my have interpreted what he said the way they did, and apologize for poor wording, but he didn’t. Instead he laid it all on you and others for not being intelligent enough to understand what he said. In other words, he did nothing wrong and if we weren’t idiots, we would see that. Of course, he will now come back and say he never called anybody idiots, which he didn’t in those exact words, but yes he did.
Notice that nobody in Ferguson was calling for him to come there. In fact, many locals did express that if PBO went there it could make things worse. This is similar to when people called for him to go to Wisconsin during the protests against Walker. Notable, none of those people were in Wisconsin, where the protesters felt the same way as the locals in Ferguson.
Finally, he really thought he could get away with saying his tweet was before PBO or Holder did anything?
Japa, I’m tempted to delete what I scribbled and replace it with your analysis: just perfect.
I was struck by his response to Meta yesterday, reminding her that PBO is just a “politician”.
Well, yes (but Shaun still thinks he should have super powers that fix Ferguson??), although as President he’s a little more than that.
But the tone, I felt, was Greenwaldish, patronizing towards anyone who supports the President, or defends him against unjust attacks.
As I said before, I know nothing about Shaun King, but that he has tried to make Ferguson about PBO is highly peculiar to me.
But I agree, I respect him for replying here.
I think your perceptions are correct. I think you’ve been fair. Don’t second guess yourself. You have hit the nail on the head and done a bang up job of verbalizing the issues. Bless you.
CBS with their bullshit linkbaiting
Ebola! - the new Benghazi! Scare the people is the role of the US media.
Actually, I have often heard him talking about dads MIA, but I have never heard him do so in the context of police brutality.
Exactly japa. PBO does talk about dads MIA - which anyone who is GENUINELY invested in the well-being of young black men - can attest to, and will agree with PBO that it is an issue of concern in the community and society at large.
But PBO never used this argument in the context of police brutality, and certainly not, as King is implying as a way to detract from or excuse police brutality.
Exactly. King is pulling this stuff out of his ass.
Oh hell Hopefruit, I missed that tweet by him.
Okay, we have confirmation of an agenda - and it sure as hell isn’t about justice for Michael Brown.
Yup. That tweet had me bristling…I had to calm myself down before responding.
And your responses were beyond excellent. Love ya, gal.
You have confirmation of dishonesty. You did the world a favor by picking up on this and calling him out. Thanks.
Ah, thank you catrst, so much. Thing is, if he kept focusing on his investigative work, that would be a priceless service, but instead he needs to politicize this and make it about PBO. I will never understand him.
Shaun King obviously ignored this ENTIRE speech POTUS gave at the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation less than one week ago.
Most relevant portion here:
“…Too many young men of color feel targeted by law enforcement, guilty of walking while black, or driving while black, judged by stereotypes that fuel fear and resentment and hopelessness. We know that, statistically, in everything from enforcing drug policy to applying the death penalty to pulling people over, there are significant racial disparities. That’s just the statistics. One recent poll showed that the majority of Americans think the criminal justice system doesn’t treat people of all races equally. Think about that. That’s not just blacks, not just Latinos or Asians or Native Americans saying things may not be unfair. That’s most Americans.
And that has a corrosive effect — not just on the black community; it has a corrosive effect on America. It harms the communities that need law enforcement the most. It makes folks who are victimized by crime and need strong policing reluctant to go to the police because they may not trust them. And the worst part of it is it scars the hearts of our children. It scars the hearts of the white kids who grow unnecessarily fearful of somebody who doesn’t look like them. It stains the heart of black children who feel as if no matter what he does, he will always be under suspicion. That is not the society we want. It’s not the society that our children deserve. (Applause.) Whether you’re black or white, you don’t want that for America.”
http://www.whitehouse.gov/the-press-office/2014/09/28/remarks-president-congressional-black-caucus-awards-dinner
Thank you for that, forus! That would seem to mess with Shaun King’s blatant agenda.
Shaun King, your first mistake was to inbox Chips with a half-ass response. Your second mistake was to try and weasel out of what you said. The only correct statement in your response was that Chips does not know you. But unfortunately your tweets revealed everything that was needed to know about you. But what is really interesting is your comment about being a supporter of President Obama for a decade. A true supporter doesn’t bail out at the first sign of trouble. So I guess that DOMA, DADT, and the ACA haven’t convinced you of what President Obama is truly about? Don’t you dare call yourself a ride or die Obama supporter.
Don I really hope he lurks on TOD - and I would assume that after last night, he does - so he can read all of these excellent comments addressed to him.
HF, I think he lurks too. How else would he know the post was about him. Now that he’s had his minute on TOD, it’s time to move on. He’s no longer relevant after what Chips did to him.
It’s somewhat like the classic statement “I have black friends”. “I voted for Obama”, “I know people who work for Obama”, etc. Concern troll is the term I use for this approach.
I know nothing about @ShaunKing, but I have been suspicious from the get-go.
His tactics remind me of @140elect, whose tweets I found informative during the 2012 election, but was suspicious of his motives, so I never joined his double-d (avatar ribbon) campaign.
Judging by @ShaunKing’s twitter avatar, he appears to be of an indeterminate race — something very common in Cali, which attracts people from everywhere, and have children with mixed ancestry from around the globe.
I see Goldie Taylor and others are also responding to Shaun King’s comments
Thank you so much for calling King out on his b.s., Chips.
Thanks a million Axel, great to see you.
Good Afternoon, TOD!
{{Chips}}, I’m so glad {{Danny}} found his way home. It must have been so frightening for both of you.
Thanks for showing Shaun King that we see how he’s trying to take the tragedy of what happened in Ferguson and somehow make it Obama’s fault just before the midterm election. The people that believe this stuff after what happened in the midterms of 2010, aren’t concerned about improving all American lives, just theirs.
“The people that believe this stuff after what happened in the midterms of 2010, aren’t concerned about improving all American lives, just theirs.”
Sjterrid, love ya.
Love you, too, for what you created here!
Just sent you a DM, Miss.
Geez that was fast…
That WAS fast. That’s great they can figure it out so quickly. I just finished reading a very well researched article in Vanity Fair detailing how Ebola got such a foothold in Guinea earlier this year. Fascinating discovery of how the massive numbers of medical help from various health care organizations in Europe descending on the country caused an unintended consequence. Worth reading. http://www.vanityfair.com/politics/2014/10/ebola-virus-epidemic-containment
Maybe the person that was vomiting, just got air sick?
I have been on flights with my daughter when she was younger, and if there was a lot of turbulence or when the plane started descending she would vomit. I didn’t read where the plane was coming from, but if it was an international one and the person didn’t have any fever or any other symptoms this could be why. I have taken some flights to/from Greece, and there were times I would get nauseous on the trip, especially, before Cigarette smoking was banned.
All airplane passenger seats come equipped with barf bags - and for good reason - including the one you described with your daughter.
But I guess they were just had to take the necessary precaution. :)
I, understand why they took precautions. My problem is with the media and the scary Ebola headlines.
What I heard on the radio is that the passengers are suspected to have malaria, which is not to be sneezed at either.
However, it drives me nuts that MSM is covering ebola 24/7.
Overnight, 10 young people lost their lives in two horrific car crashes on LA freeways. Five in each accident.
So yeah, MSM ebola coverage has run amok.
What will happen during flu season when fevers and nausea are the norm? Will every severe cold potentially be looked upon as ebola?
I so agree with you on the fear mongering of our media. More people will become sick with colds, flu, & sinus infections at this time of year, and are much easier spreadable, but were supposed to panic, “OMG, Ebola, we will have to close our borders.”
When will these naive fools learn???? If you get on a BT’s radar you better duck for cover…Bravo Chips!!!!
BTW I have been M.I.A., but I’m glad you and Danny were reunited…….. something I would suggest investing in. Tagg http://www.pettracker.com/
I had the same problem w/ one of my female dogs…especially when she was in heat……unfortunately this technology was available at the time.
Finally my weekly ritual/superstition…….Auburn plays at 7….. I will be entering witness protection if they lose :( #WDE
Apparently Shaun King thinks ride or die means meh.
Chips, my stomach was in knots reading your post about Danny being lost. I can’t imagine how frightened both of you were during that horrible separation. I am so happy that he is back where he belongs safe and sound. I am sending a virtual bear hug for you and a ruffle of the ears for Danny. You are simply the best! LH
My “new and improved” computer is so slow that I can no longer click into each heading, so I just stop by several times a day to read the headlines. I’ve had my “new and improved” computer for a long time now, so I haven’t commented in forever.
I am making an exception today to say Bravo Chips!
I get so tired of “dems” attacking our President Obama that I cheered and clapped when I read your piece about Mr. King last night.
I will probably become more “dem” like once the best President who has ever lived is out of office, since I am not fond of the current 2016 candidate who has yet to say whether she is running or not. I don’t see much difference between Romney entitlement and hers (and her husband).
I love this site and always will. I have no idea if you will continue your awesomeness after President Obama leaves office. I sure hope so, though.
Thank you for all you do. You are, indeed, a tireless warrior. And so is everyone else on this site.
Sue,
This is reliable info from PC magazine. 10 tips to speed up your PC.
http://www.pcmag.com/slideshow/story/315484/10-tips-to-speed-up-your-pc/1
#3, #4, and #6 might be the easiest to do to see if it helps!
Utterly wonderful to see you Sue!! And huge thanks for your kind words. I hope everything is GREAT with you!
Chips, I left an empathy message about Danny’s adventure on the Early Bird thread. You probably didn’t have a chance to see it because you were writing this EPIC response to Shaun King.
He messed with the wrong person trying to BS a response to your calling him out. TOD keeps a record of EVERYTHING PBO says and does! Ha Ha! There’s no way to BS about PBO here.
I couldn’t agree more with your and the other TODers’ assessments of Shaun King’s motives. We’ve seen this soooo many times before, we could almost write a playbook: begin with an issue that Obama supporters would care about, get them hooked in. Claim to be a PBO supporter. Then proceed to push MSM and right wing talking points against him, all while pretending that you are somehow suddenly disillusioned and disappointed in him. The Vox, Intercept, MSNBC, DKOS, job offer comes in 5, 4, 3, 2….
Thanks so much for kicking this poser’s booty for us!!! AND for doing it all on such a harrowing day for you and Danny! You rock!
Afternoon Fam!
After finally catching up with all the threads, I’ve just got one thing to say:
Chips: Sic ’em Sister!!! And THANK YOU!
new post: http://theobamadiary.com/2014/10/04/a-few-thoughts-on-not-good-enough-ism/
Great work Chipsticks…I’m from St. Louis and I so agree with you. One thing I know for sure…a lot of Democrats (and I won’t just point out black Democrats) but some Democrats rant against the President so as to stay in good graces with their so called peers…We have wanna-be leaders in the communities who can’t get recognized unless they say something HORRIBLE about President Obama. There is a lot of “work to do” in St. Louis for REAL MEN who are willing to step up…You hear about a lot of organizations dedicated to our youth and such but when you look around you don’t see much progress., (not as much as should be)… The red light is flashing in St. Louis…We’ve been declared an EMERGENCY…We don’t need our so-called “community leaders” bashing our President…the man we love and believe in …What we need is for the MEN and Women in our Communities to stand up and be as BOLD AND FORCEFUL as our President…One constant thing our President continues to say and demonstrate is “we are the ones we’ve been waiting for”…It’s up to our leaders in our own communities to show the world that we know what that means…Leaders in our Black Communities …go to your people and show them and encourage them to be active…and do as much for ourselves as possible…Leaders need to be involved …block by block…taking back our streets and growing the kind of community we deserve, the kind of communities our ancestors fought and died for us to have…We need to SHOW UP and VOTE this November…
Ediebeebop, this is an excellent comment. As a resident of St. Louis thank you for your incite. I don’t know how to copy your comment to the next post, but I hope you could bring your comment there so other’s will see it.
the second sentence should be As you’re a resident.

smack, smack, smack. Love it. well done, bt.
So Happy you got your Danny Dog back! <3
Mahalo, Chips, for such a brilliant deconstruction of Shaun King's disingenuous, ongoing whine about President Obama.
“President Obama, in my opinion, is close to Ferguson becoming his Katrina if it hasn’t already. He must be there very soon.” ..
That statement from him says it all right there. Hyperbolic bullshite targeted to appeal to those who will jump on any bandwagon if it means piling on the President. It doesn’t have to be real.. just throw it out there and see what sticks.
“Michael was murdered on a Saturday, the FBI arrived in Ferguson on the Monday after. That soon. And AG Holder, presumably at the President’s direction, was vocal and involved from the start – for example, if I remember correctly, the day before your Katrina tweet, he authorized an additional autopsy of Michael Brown by a federal medical examiner. Remember the abuse he got from the right? Remember how the President was berated for ‘involving’ himself in the case?”
We know everything Holder does is upheld by the President..
AG Holder: “Holder: The Department of Justice ‘stands for the people of Ferguson’”

Eric Holder will be working on Ferguson, MO in his days left in Office and the person who replaces him will be doing the same. If the Senate doesn’t confirm a new AG then Holder will remain, as we all know.
Shaun King should not be throwing that word “honestly” around when he “honestly” has no clue. Willfully or otherwise..

This honestly goes all the way to President Obama, the Democratic Party, presidential aspirations, and much more.

Unfortunately, he does sound like he takes his cues from the Greenwald school of ODS with a twist of Smiley and West, whether he even knows them or not. And, begs the question.. “exactly what is his agenda?” Because these diatribes of his are not helping the People of Ferguson, MO.
Justice for Michael Brown <3
