OK, I know that Dems didn’t go out to vote. But I swear TODers, maybe I am crazy. But something just doesn’t sit well with me about this election. I believe in my soul that because of the low number voting, the GOP just stole the whole thing. There, I said it. I can’t keep it in any longer. I hope you guys won’t think I am crazy. But this has bothered me since last Wednesday morning.

They do it in all the little ways africa - threatening jail if people do something/anything wrong in regard to voting, forcing id that people do not have, LYING non stop about the President - fully backed by the media, making people queue for hours to vote - ensuring employers do not pay for people to be in these queues - telling everyone the GOP has already won - not registering voters who have completed their applications - it goes on and on - cheating the vote comes in many different ways and means - the GOP knows them all.

Africa, I suspect you are correct. PBO won in 2008 and 2012 by turning out everyone. That is the only way to overcome the GOP voting machine, suppression and gerrymandering tricks that Rove and friends engineered during the Bush years. Kerry couldn’t overcome it. 2006 only happened because GWB was such a disaster that mid-term voters decided to try something new (before “something new” meant a black family in the White House). That is why whoever becomes the nominee in 2016 had better align with PBO to bring out his coalition in full. A ho-hum dem might not win, even with the so-called “new demographics”.

Africa, I for one was blindsided by the numbers, especially after reports of increases in early voting, and even reports of long lines on election day and tweets telling people to stay in line. I have not heard of any challenges from candidates and party leadership, so I guess they feel that the reported turnout/results were accurate. But I wouldn’t discount your concerns about this election.
africa, I agree with you. I wrote about this, rather extensively, in one comment, last week. I don’t want to belabor it, but low turnout is a crucial element if you are going to rig the vote count. Will leave it at that except that I hope the DoJ, proactively or retroactively, are investigating, at a minimum, OH, FL, NC, IA, CT & WI.
Nor with me. We all felt some dynamic energy moving with all the early voter turnout, despite the stealing/losing of registrations (bullshit), and the cringing silence from all the networks, until, Boom, at the end, a GOP wave. Bullshit. It seems undeniable the voting machines were tampered with, nothing makes sense. I hope that’s true, actually, and I hope it’s found out, because thieves and cheaters have no business running the country.

It was always clear to me that this President would never be a “lame duck” but I’m starting to get the feeling it’s going to be a very wild ride:-) The next two years just may be some of the most interesting in history. And the GOP thinks it is going to take down the EPA? One more example of caring about the Koch bros at the expense of their constituents. Our Republican Congress seem to be the only people left in America who continue to deny the effects of climate change. Good luck with that!
