POTUS looks great on both shirts, IMHO…. :0 biased of course.

But if I had to pick one, the Mauve/Black outfit from yesterday looks more fancy. I am guessing that both are made from silk material.

The next two years will prove that it one man has solved the problems created by so many. It will be impossible to deny that if America advances in anything over the next two years it is all because of POTUS. One man who is a kenyan, muslim, socialist, dictator blah blah blah

Yay for Japa and Bill! Please tell me Congress can’t derail the brand new climate change accord with China. It would be an opportunity for the GOP to show they aren’t a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Koch Brothers. Yeah, right - who am I kidding?!

It is not a treay and therefore does not need to be ratified. It is more a memorandum of understanding stating intentions rather than a set agreement with specific necessary conditions. In fact, it was undoubtedly set up this way specifically to avoid the need for ratification.

I’m guessing with the outcome of last weeks’ completely stolen election, and 2/3 of US Gubmint now in GOP foul hands, the entire world is going to step up the pace to get as much done and in place as possible before January 2015. Because PBO is a freaking genius and adept in all ways, he was prepared for this outcome, as repulsive as it is, and he has laid the foundation for many accomplishments they will not be able to destroy. Frost finally melting off the rooftops here, time to go and get some grocery shopping done. Bbl.

Our beautiful, beautiful President! What an amazing man. Just logged on and am looking at all the wonderful news about the agreement with China. Catching up on the great stuff. And we have two more years of Obama goodness. Did I mention that I love our President? Yes I do!! :)

I think you are probably caught up on the great news I’m reading, but I ran across this and thought it was very interesting. The GOP thought they had a mandate and now they find out they will actually have to govern. OOPS!! I especially like the part about calling Republicans squishy.

….But even his fellow conservatives aren’t all jumping on board – a sign that the Republican repeal or bust movement is struggling while Obamacare continues to enroll millions of people with health insurance…

…Interviews with a wide range of key figures in the Senate and within the conservative movement show that while the party may be united rhetorically on repealing Obamacare, Republicans are surprisingly squishy on exactly how to do it….

Have anyone heard any reason why Harry Reid will not be bringing up AG nominee Lorette Lynch before this Senate?

    • 28 hopefruit2
      November 12, 2025 at 12:31 pm

I think it’s because he wants to put the GOP in a corner, and put them on the record as failing to govern - which makes sense. The GOP and their base can’t stand Holder. They probably hate him even more than they do Obama. But if they fail to confirm AG Lynch, Holder will remain AG - something they don’t want.

        November 12, 2025 at 1:16 pm

Yes, RWNJ/bigots hate AG Holder and Janet Reno because of Ruby Ridge.

They believe that Holder/Reno overstepped the boundaries of federal authority.

Another thing that pissed me off in the week leading up to the election was @nytime’s front-paging a Ruby Ridge story for several days — 21 years after the event. Obviously throwing red meat to RWNJ/bigots.

To the question about the Senate having to ratify this agreement the president announced yesterday….The Senate must ratify all “treaties”: if you notice the wording was very carefully done. This is not a treaty, it is an” intent”…..therefore, the Senate does not get to do anything. They can only yell. In six years, they still have not learned that this man and his team are too smart for them. He KNOWS language, and obviously, they do not understand it. They operate on conventional, old lines, and cannot anticipate what he is going to do.

Looking at those pictures of PBO and FLOTUS on Rise and Shine……I remember the breathless coverage of every item she wore, and the fan like following…….which, I am sure, made the Rethugs even angrier and more determined to block him. Envy, jealousy……these have torn the Rethugs apart.

I am loving the President’s facial expressions on this trip. Pootypoot has firmly been put in his place. The Chinese president has achieved preeminence over him with the U.S. Putin is a cockroach to be squashed!!!

Also someone said that 60 seats in the senate is a veto proof majority. That’s incorrect, 60 seats is a filibuster proof majority. You need 67 votes to override a president’s veto. The republicans do not even have a 60 seat majority.

“In six years, they still have not learned that this man and his team are too smart for them. …………”

Carolyn, you always speak with such observations of wisdom concerning our president. Thank you for bringing this point out again. So many of the people, at their own peril still so carelessly ignore the brilliant mind of President Barack Obama.

PBO is not one to waste his time or ours with petty words that will take us further into a state of a depressed state of living in this country or the world. He is truly a man who knows his compass and not afraid of following it with poise, humility, wisdom, compassion for all people, and brilliant actions and not worthless words used on the people

I love our President in the shirts. Our President can wear anything and look as fine as the finest. And just ask japa about our lovely FLOTUS. Always loved that outfit. Shoes can wear them any day. I love my shoes. I am almost ashamed to go into my closet at times because the shoes just cry out wear me, wear me, please. However, if I purchase a new pair, I gave away the number of pairs that I purchase. Ice cream(not good for the gut), seafood, shoes, and my President any and everyday.

Chips, Nerdy W., LL, and all who contribute so much beautiful and wonderful gems to our TOD family, I love you all!!!!HZ

As we discussed back in February, there’s a group of pundits who’ve invested almost comical amounts of time urging Obama to “lead more.” It’s never been entirely clear what, specifically, these pundits expect the president to do, especially in the face of unyielding and reflexive opposition from Congress, but the complaints have been constant for years.

GW Bush Never did any of those. But I guess, invading the wrong nation…..Iraq…..piggyback a ride on a fighter jet while landing on an aircraft-ship….. is all these idiots need to fulfill their Daddy issues?

Bill Clinton tried and he was impeached.

….This would be a daring move, and also unexpected….

….By signaling their intention to wait until the beginning of the 114th Congress to nominate Lynch as attorney general as opposed to moving her nomination during the final two months of Democratic stewardship of the Senate, the Obama administration and Democratic leadership are signaling quiet confidence that they can accede to Republican demands to have the newly elected Senate take up the nomination, while still having enough Republican votes to confirm the nomination. If true, it’s a win-win strategy: they will circumvent the political risk of moving a high-profile nomination during the lame duck session, all while the tea party wing of the Republican Senate turns off minority voters by holding a black woman’s nomination hostage to Mr. Obama’s plans on immigration.

But if Democrats are wrong and Senate radicals manage to vote down Lynch’s nomination, Democrats will be able to point out that Republicans voted down a highly qualified nominee for reasons that had nothing to do with her qualifications. And if that happens, Eric Holder will still be running the Department of Justice, and that will drive Republicans ever further up a wall.

PBO and Harry Reid are giving the clueless GOP a lesson in rope-a-dope.

If GOP in 114th Congress attempt to block Loretta Lynch’s nomination, they will have to eat their words on “protecting America from criminals” because Ms. Lynch is a fierce and successful *prosecutor*.

AG Holder and Ms. Lynch would be unhappy with this outcome, but the end result would be to prove that GOP are racists and the words they spout cannot be believed.

Expect more like this from former boxer Harry Reid, when he assumes McTurtle’s current position. Heh.

…The FCC is trapped between a rock and a hard place — the president, liberals, and the tech industry are now firmly in support of Title II, and conservatives and Big Cable are now firmly in support of doing nothing at all. There’s no compromise coming out of this, and Tom Wheeler is going to have to move firmly in one direction or another. Given that he’s an Obama appointee and there are more Democratic FCC commissioners than Republicans, it’s safe to say he’ll have to follow the president’s lead….

DON’T GOVERN, KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK

The pro-gridlock contingent of the U.S. electorate

    By Steve Benen

    ——————————————

For six years, congressional Republicans have been guided by a North Star: don’t compromise, don’t accept concessions, don’t negotiate in good faith, don’t look for common ground. And it’s against this backdrop that GOP voters are effectively telling their party’s elected officials, “Keep up the good work.”

A few months from now, when the Beltway is wondering why nothing is getting done, and the post-election niceties about cooperation are a distant memory, keep this Pew Research Center report in mind.

Mayor DeBlasio on Rev Al’s radio show saying Democrats have to stand up for their progressive ideas, be proud of them. Noted that those who did so did quite well last Tuesday. Case in point, IMO, Tom Wolf for Pennsy governor. He spoke up for fair funding for education for all children and re-energizing job creation. He won. DeBlasio saying people will not be moved by cowards !!
