Dame Delectable Dudette is on a fursty roll!!!!!!
Morning Duuuuudette, morning everyone!
Thankyew, thankyew verreh muuuuuch! :-)
:) Fierce, funny woman:)
Isn’t Nancy the greatest?
No way! :-)
Good morning. Hope you all had a good weekend.
I’ll be prepping for radiation this week (Thursday). It’s going to be a real challenge getting to the cancer center. My mom sometimes works double shifts and the radiation has to be done 10 days in a row. Whew! I owe her big time. :)
{{{{ gb }}}
Hope session goes smoothly! Kick those c-cells asses, Warrior!
(((Hugs))) :)
I will, Dudette. I will.
I am wishing you all the best, GB, and hoping that your radiation treatments go well.
Also sending out positive thoughts for your mom.
{{{{{GB}}}}}
(((Hugs))) Thank you, Nerdy.
Keep you in my prayers gb. You and your Mom.
Thanks, Bella!
We’ll be thinking of you {{{GB}}}, endless love!
Thank you, Chips! You guys are awesome! :) :)
You’re a bit awesome yerself!!
:) :)
I hope it’s doesn’t work out to be too much of a challenge to get there, GoB. You mother is a champion, working double shifts.
We’re sending you healing and strength throughout the process. {{{{Take good care}}}}
Thanks, meta. She says she’ll try to use some days off but it’s still going to be tricky.
Sending healing thoughts, prayers and love to you gobrooklyn. Blessings to you and your amazing mother. The universe is moving in your direction to assist you both in all ways to provide everything that you need.
GB, our thoughts and prayers will be with you. Wish we were all closer we would have a great car pool for you. We’ll be with you!!!!!!
Thanks, Marilyn! :)
Always thinking of you and wishing good things😊
Thank you very much, Desertflower!
😊

Are there community transportation options available?
I’m in a very suburban area with limited public transportation, but there’s some transportation options for those with specific needs.
Wouldn’t hurt to check out local government/public transportation websites to see if there’s anything available for you.
Give ‘em (c-cells) hell, GB.
There is a van for the disabled but I believe it’s just local. The cancer center is an hour away.
The center provided us with some options like staying at a Hope Lodge (free lodging that’s very close to hospital/place where you are being treated). My mom would still have to be with me and she wasn’t comfortable with closing up the house for 10 days.
There was an issue with each option so she just decided to bring me herself.
Should have known you’ve scoped out all your options.
Blessings to your Mom, and like I said before, fierce tidings to you vs. c-cells. ((( GB )))
Just learned that one of her friends can help with 1 or 2 appointments. So, yeah! :)
{{{GoB}}} Will definitely be holding you in my thoughts over the next couple of weeks.
Going forward, one possibility I didn’t see mentioned was volunteer drivers. Our local cancer society has a volunteer driver program, that trains volunteers to pick up and transport cancer patients for treatment, and they cover distances of over an hour. Drivers indicate during training how far (as in to which facility) they are willing to go. (Drivers get reimbursed about 35-40c per kilometre by the cancer society. The patient does not give/pay them any money at all; it’s a service. In fact, patients simply access the service through the cancer society and *they* set up the ride with the volunteer - providing pick up info (time/home address/name of person), location of treatment, etc. etc). Wouldn’t surprise me if there is a similar service in your town/area.
Hi, VC
Thanks for the suggestion. I’ve read about that program but I wouldn’t feel comfortable riding alone with a stranger. That’s just me. It’s still a great program though.
My mom’s friend volunteered today to take me to a couple of appointments. So that will take some of the pressure off.
Ah, so it does happen there! I thought it might. For us you didn’t have to travel alone if you had someone able to go along with you. I did it for a brief while, and found some patients spoke to you and some didn’t, but that was okay too.
Great that you and mom have friends who are able to chip in! Crossing fingers that you’ll weather this round in a strong way, remembering through the tougher moments that you are not alone. {{{GoB}}}
Thanks, VC!
GB, I’m sending you positive thoughts and prayers. I went through radiation treatments - 5 days per week for a whole month. Once a week I would treat myself to a Thai ice tea. Pamper yourself and I’m very happy that you will have your mom supporting you. (hugs)
Wow! a whole month? wow. I’ve had radiation before and had to do 10 days for my back. It was more convenient then because I was already staying in the hospital. The radiation dept. would just hoist me from my bed, do the treatments and then send me back. Ahhh….good times. NOT! :) :)
I really do need to pamper myself. I’m not a tea person but I like scented oils, hot showers and doing my nails.
Thank you so much for your support, Gail. :)
:-) you’re right, they’re not good times, but I’m happy to see you so upbeat about it all. Hang in there!
:) :) !!
(((GB & Mom)))
My prayers and thoughts for healing, peace, and strength go out for you and Mom. May you have the grace needed for each moment.
Thank you so much, Junkessa! (((Hugs)))
GOB, you’re mother is doing this out of love and that will carry her through all the hassles. We’ll be pulling for you every single day.
Thank you very much, Jackie. The support helps.
Keeping you constantly in my thoughts, GB. Hope all goes as well as possible.
Thanks, Bob.
{{GB & mom}} sending hugs. You are in my thoughts and prayers as you undergo your radiation treatment. Here’s to you kicking those cancer cells in the butt.
(((Hugs))) Thanks, SJ!
Prayers for you
Thanks, Rikyrah :)
Hi GB, I’m usually late on threads (like today :-) ) But I always keep you in my thoughts, visualizing healing light around you.
I don’t know if I’ve already shared this with you before, but I had a friend who had to undergo radiation treatments and he swore by Japanese-style acupuncture to minimize/counteract the side-effects of the radiation. He said he didn’t feel any side effects until the very end of his treatments, and those that he did experience were minimal. He told me that the Japanese perfected treating radiation side-effects because of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Don’t know if you can find an acupuncturist who practices Japanese-style in your area, but, if you can, it may be helpful.
Lots of love to you from my corner of the TOD world!!
Thanks, Madame.
Glad your friend was able to benefit from acupuncture. I was able to try it twice when I was in the hospital. I couldn’t wait for the doctor to come back and take them out. Lol!! I wasn’t able to focus or relax. Maybe I’ll try again one day. :) :)
:-) {{{{GB}}}}
no rest for the weary…must go to work now. Hope everyone has a marvelous day!
Same here. Have a good one!
Gross.
Can’t understand why the fact that #KeystoneXL makes the US an environmental disaster staging zone for the benefit of Canada and China doesn’t get more traction.
Dems, you disappointed your supporters for this past election — now is the time for a united front AGAINST #KXL — you have local farmers and businesses on your side too.
All of TODville knows the GOP/MSM/Kochs will do their best to disguise this fact.
Such an unpopular man! A real stranger, SO arrogant!
Good morning, Chips and TODers!
Good Monday Morning Majestic Meta!
Hey! How is Dangerous Dapper Danny?
You mean Danny the disorderly, disruptive, delinquent? He’s grand :-)
WOOF!!
What did he do now?
Oh, found a log type thingie in the garden, smuggled it in to the house, and shredded it on the floor I left shiny and clean this morning. Apart from that, he’s perfect-ish!
He’s way too curious for his own good……..
He is 57, I had to muck about with the dishwasher yesterday because it wasn’t working, he found the whole thing thrilling, especially when he was able to climb behind it and remove water pipe thingies from the wall.
Most of my dogs have been like that: “What are you doing? Can I see? Pipes and wires and new “caves” - oh my!”
I paid more attention: He pulled water pipe thingies apart?!?!?!
Well, in fairness to him 57, he didn’t actually pull it apart, just gently-ish removed it from the hole in the wall, and then settled down to chew it before I intervened. He’s very talented, this fella.
uber-talented to be sure. I hate when Mr. 57 has to pick up the grate from the cold air intake to put in a filter. All the pups think it’s fascinating. The large hole that goes down to our octopus of a furnace.
:-) And we spend bucket-loads of cash on toys, but nothing fascinates them more than grates and pipes and filters and octopus furnaces!
Sigh………
Of the mountain of toys available, why must Kasper take only ONE shoe of a pair, carry it from the living room into the bedroom and bury it in the man-cave?
And socks!!!! I have 100 single socks with no matches!
I think Kasper has them all in the man-cave. I wondered where they came from.
Hey, wait a minute - are Danny and Kasper communicating?!?!
I’m beginning to suspect they are, possibly using devices like these:
I wouldn’t put it past them…….
I angled it so I could get a decent picture. He was all kinds of adorable, all curled up in it. I went to get the camera, he saw me in the door turning it on, waited, and then as soon as I took the picture he took off.
He’s already bored he’s not getting walks when it’s so cold. It’s going to be a long winter……
Dear GB
I am so glad that you have your mom to be with you, It helped me to have my husband with me. I was lucky I had a choice of 6 weeks every day or 5 days twice a day. We did the five day. Crazy but it seems to have worked. GB sending you healing energy, strength and love,.
I LOVE THESE PICTURES SO MUCH AND I LOVE MY ENERGIZER BUNNY PRESIDENT…I ENJOY SEEING HIM TREATED WITH THE LOVE AND RESPECT HE DESERVES….A FAR CRY FROM THE EVIL SENTIMENTS IN WHAT USED TO BE AMERICA. I LOVE THIS PRESIDENT FOR HIS COMPASSION FOR ALL PEOPLE…NOT SOMETHING I CAN SAY FOR ALL AMERICANS. BTW…I HOPE NOT TO BE HERE IN 2016…BUT IF I HAVE TO BE ELIZABETH WARREN WOULD BE MY CHOICE FOR PRESIDENT…NOT HILLARY…HER DAY HAS PASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSED! WARREN IS AWESOME. WHO REALLY KNOWS WHAT KIND OF A WORLD WE WILL HAVE BY THEN…I CAN ASSURE YOU OF THIS….IT WON’T BE THE PRESIDENT’S FAULT!..I HOPE HE IS CATCHING UP ON HIS CLOCK…I TOOK AN AXE TO MINE…LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL…SOOOO DARNED CONFUSING! I COULD NEVER BE A WORLD TRAVELER…I WOULD MISS EVERY PLANE I WAS SUPPOSED TO CATCH. I THANK GOD BECAUSE I DON’T HAVE THAT DESIRE…YOUR WORLD AND ALL THAT IS IN IT OR NECESSARY…IS IN YOUR HEART!
‘The President has no scheduled public events’
Yea! May he indeed get a ‘quiet’ day!
You are joking, right VC????? Quiet day??? US/Iran. Ferguson. EO on Immigration.
‘Quiet’ apart from all that, Vicki  You’ve got to admit that if nothing new erupts *that* would be a quiet day for PBO.
HE DOES NOT NEED TO BE IN PUBLIC TODAY UNLESS IT’S A NICE ‘PUBLIC’ LIKE HE HAD OVERSEAS!…DO THEY HAVE THAT HERE?
/waving madly …oops! sorry that was in your face/ Way to go, Dudette! Sitting pretty!
Oops! Forgot I was heading off to eat! Later, obots.
Regarding Leader Pelosi’s tweet to Speaker Boehner. He actually does not yet qualify for full SS benefits. I think he has to be 66 for that. Much as I would like to see him qualify for full Medicare, he only qualifies for Part A. Now, if he was fully retired (how we could wish) then he would be eligible for full Medicare.
Strangely, ex SOS Clinton’s 67th birthday last week was not publicized. hmmmmmmmmm
I need to find an advocate to start exploring all of this. I’ll be 65 in May. I’m not intending to take SS until at least 66, so I’ll have to pay for Medicare out of pocket.
Hi 57
My husband went on medicare in September. We had lots of information and seminars to attend. It seems that what is available is different form county to county. But there is a lot of information out there. Expect to be flooded.
I’ve been really surprised that I’m not flooded with information. Mr. 57 was, certainly. A few flyers here and there. I’m sure more will come.
57andfemale, try contact several senior citizen centers to see if they will have a medicare faire with a variety of supplemental providers. Also in California they have an organization that will go over medicare and the companies. I was told that you could also make an appointment with SS and they will help you too.
I’m sure we have advocates here in IL. I spend some volunteer time at a senior center. For me, the problem is the hours they’re open - hard when I’m working every day. But I’ll find a way.
Mr. 57 talked to Social Security directly and we went to a seminor for a Medicare HMO which is what he has. I want a broader network, so I’ll go with a supplemental. I wish the excellent co-op I have for ACA insurance offered a supplemental. I’d re-sign with them in a heartbeat. Thanks, jojo.
I too hope he has a restful day, although, he works EVERY day, unlike his predecessors…….PBO works more in a week than Congress does in a year, and he actually accomplishes things. They just spin.
Have to laugh at Todd’s terrible reviews. I haven’t read the book, and won’t, but just from hearing him speak, and seeing small samples of his writing, I have a feeling that the book is just plain bad. He cannot carry a coherent idea from beginning to end, his use of the language is mundane and trite, and he has no creativity. I have four freshmen in my composition class who can write circles around him. Their use of language is creative and sparkling. His is dry and dull. He was published only because of his name and position. If his “came in over the transom” as they used to say……it would have gone immediately to the discard pile.
Spot on, Carolyn.
Add to that list, upChuck has no idea how to organize his thoughts, no concept of what’s important historically versus what is trivia/gossip/only-important-to-fuel-Drudge/RWNJ-flames.
Carolyn and Arapaho, TODobots are so often on the same wavelength (thought-length?) re specific thoughts! Last night I was telling a tweeter almost the same thing about Chuckie’s ‘book’.
Good morning TOD.
Right on time the New York Times has a front page article casting doubt all over the possible US/Iran nuclear deal.
Naturally.
“Even members of his own party don’t want this deal” is the NYT contention.
To which I say that I am not sure that PBO has a party that matters very much to him right now. TOD is PBO’s best party.
If you noticed the GOP apoplectic freak-out after the US/China climate initiatives, you will not be one bit surprised that the GOP and Media are Frantic to stop the US/Iran agreement.
Time is growing short.
Seven days—7!!—until the deadline.
Unconsciously linked is the piece by Charles Blow on the editorial page about how the GOP wants to destroy not govern. Mr. Blow makes a point that we have been talking about here—that the goal is to erase President Obama now and forever. GOP, good luck with that.
Still, I am being very cautious in my enthusiasm for the Iran agreement. I wonder what TOD thinks the chances are?
Times gives it 40% of passage. I am 50/50.
Apparently, @nytimes strategy is to undermine the Obama Adm.’s foreign policy.
Sorry that this tweet is about as clear as mud — the photo is @nytimes home page article on Oct 7 which proclaims “Turkish inaction.”
Today, the @nytimes home page headline is:
“Nuclear deal with Iran hits obstacles, testing Obama.”
No hint from the today’s headline that anyone other than “Obama” are impacted by the Iran-US looming deadline (i.e., the entire Middle East).
LIVE NOW: Secretary of State Kerry - http://www.cbsnews.com/liveFeed/widget.shtml
Hi.
Looks like Jose Diaz-Balart got Chuck Todd’s old show and also gets to keep his .
2 hours of Jose….
Also…his brother Mario is still a Congressman and was part of the gang of 8 that worked on Immigration . I bet Jose knows what goes on behind closed doors in the House.
Refueled and ready for another round.
Fooded up and ready to go? :-)
Yep!
/had to hesitate a minute or I might have burped out loud/
Got the message! /deeply breathing /
vc, yoooohoooo!
I’m at work now. Better reception :-)
I really enjoyed talking politics with my movers who came to the US from Ukraine. Their English is pretty good. Don’t know how long they’ve lived here. They were so funny! When they worked together to go up a step, they would say “one, two, world war three”. It took me a couple of listens till I understood what the chant was and then I laughed out loud! LOL!!!
Hi Gx2. Didn’t respond earlier because I was on the phone with a sister in Florida. Was the first drive in to work a breezy 15 minutes as anticipated?
Chat away!
