The Senate led by Mary Landrieu will be voting on Keystone tonight.
Proving once again how useless DINOS are.
Whichever way this absurd toothless “vote” goes do you think PBO will comment later in the day?
I hope so, even if to remaind us that “the process will be allowed to play itself out legally,” as he has said umpteen times already.

    Morning….

All the posturing on the Keystone Pipeline vote makes NO difference to the process. TransCanada no longer has a permit to build the line.

Both Boehner and Landrieu are at the mic right now lying through their teeth.

The Koch Brothers think they have bought themselves a Congress and expect a yes vote on Keystone as payback. Hope Democrats get a clue in time.

How bad is it living in St. Louis today?
Residents have been told to stock up on water and food supplies.
    Keep their gas tanks full.
Devise alternative exit routes if roads are blocked in one direction.
If possible send families out of town.
    Clean and load your weapons.
Police will not be responding to usual calls. You are on your own.

This is the panic driven atmosphere that Jay Nixon has given to the people he is responsible for.
Not a single directive has been provided to ensure peace and safety.
St Louis PD and their allies intend to make war.

I see that now there is denial of Dept of Homeland Security presence. Pretty crazy since their vehicles have been photographed at a number of locations. Stills and video are widely available. And their helicopters flew overhead.

My heart aches for Michael Brown’s family and the residents of Ferguson. Not only was this young man needlessly murdered, but the corrupt politicians (are you listening Jay Nixon?) have turned this into a war on the citizens. Rather than trying to alleviate tensions, most of the elected officials and police chiefs have stoked the fires at every turn. What a sad commentary on where our country stands in the 21st century.

The bandage has been, the ripped off the festering sore that has never healed. A-A’s, even as some have progressed, have always lived in the shadow of the gun, the rope, and the every day cuts and bruises of institutional racism. We have never believed that this country is post-racial. We were not shocked by what happened to Trayvon or to Michael because we know that this could happen to our sons on any given day on any given city in these United States. Even as we march, pray, and vote, we never really expect that we will get justice. Whatever the final verdict is, however, the citizens of Ferguson will not fall for the traps of the gov. and the local police, Any problems will come from outside agitators, but as is often the case, the people will suffer for it. This is the reality for African American life in thes country no matter the century. We will not be protected and if we try to protect ourselves we will be slaughtered.

I also called and emailed TLC that they are now known as the network of pedophiles and homophobes. If you all are so inclined, please go to change.org and sign the petition. I don’t doubt that a great deal of what is written here.

But there was 2006. Dems came out and voted.
In 2010 and 2014……truth be known, DC Dems had Gov Kaine and Rep W-Schultz as their respect heads. Gone were the 50 state strategy and also gone were Dems paying attention to their base. Also gone was ONE key point, Dems always running and hiding when their President…..the Head of the DNC, when he is being attacked…..CONservative Dems joined in or they ran and hid……Leaving many of the attacks unanswered……Heck, demoralizing their base.
Being too nice is fine, but allowing lies and falsehood to go unanswered is like having zero defense and allowing the Kicker to carry the ball all the way to the for a Touchdown.

    • 100 meta
      November 18, 2025 at 2:35 pm

My God, they are Dems still blaming President Obama! Pure idiocy.

“In more than a dozen interviews with party officials in the weeks since the elections, there are no clear answers to those questions. What is clear is that, unlike any previous time in the past six years, a universe of individuals exists who see the president more as a weight on the party’s fortunes than its North Star.

One top Senate operative, echoing a widely held belief, argued that candidates themselves ran fairly strong races, albeit with a few (Bruce Braley) creating self-inflicted wounds. By and large, administration missteps — health care’s rollout, the IRS’s targeting of conservative groups, and the early stumbles in response to the Ebola outbreak — produced the toxic climate. Why, after all, did the party come up short in arguably winnable gubernatorial races or end up controlling just 30 state chambers around the country?

Obama officials see things more globally. It was precisely the timidity of downballot candidates to run on the president’s accomplishments, they argue, that caused the toxicity.

“I bet an excess of a billion dollars was spent hammering the president over the last year, and zero dollars were spent helping him and zero people were making the argument for the president and because of the electoral map and some strategic decision, he was constrained from defending himself,” said an administration official.”

      [snip]

“But even those sympathetic to the White House say this logic is limited since it only envisions a political system in which Democrats and Republicans are at each other’s throats. It doesn’t necessarily have to be so dichotomous. For example, after the 2010 elections, when Republicans gained control of the House, “there wasn’t a recalibration,” one former White House aide said. Ultimately “the president blamed what happened on a communications failure” and largely kept his same strategic mindset.

“The president does own some responsibility for not being able to crack that code [of Republican opposition],” said the aide. “I don’t have the answer to do it and not everyone does. But it is kind of his job. If it’s anybody’s job to exist in that reality and still make progress, it is the president’s.”
