Powerful. Thanks, Nerdy.
Almost! Congrats Desertf!
Hey! VC, lookit us! :)

Hel-loo! I’m looking. Good to meet you at the entrance so we can  at each other!
:)
Forgive that I never did take to those big teeth! (not yours, vc, that emoji) ;)
The two WP smilies I miss the most are the ‘grin’ and the ‘eyeroll’. I still hate the 2 replacements - they sure haven’t grown on me.
:-)
O, I like the ‘lol’ one, it’s the grin one I can’t stand, you trouble-maker, you!
Me?!?!?!
Yes, you! Forget the tears, Missy!
Certainly not MP!

You’re welcome, DF.

Congrats, df :)

Thanks, Bob.
Thank you ever so much Ms NerdyW, for gathering in one place this broad window on today’s protest. We all know this is more than we would get elsewhere in the ‘news’. TYVM
Thanks so much, VC.
These images are breathtaking Nerdy, endless thanks for sharing them with us.
Thanks so much for the space in which to share them, Chiparoo.
Oh Nerdy, thank *you* for filling that space with inspirational posts like these. Love ya, girl.

Wonderful selection of Tweets NW. >-I Thanks.
Almost at it’s nearing conclusion, The Lighting of the Xmas Tree in DC with The Obamas is now on PBS from 5-7 pm CT. I am hoping that those who wish to watch it West Coast Time, still can catch the whole 2 hrs.
Congrats DF on your Au :star:
It varies by state/city because each local PBS shows it on different dates, depending on the region. Here is a listing for the various states/city regions and their respective PBS showing.
http://thenationaltree.org/watch-on-pbs/
Thanks HF. I am hoping that it gets a rebroadcast in the near future.
Yes I think they tend to show it more than once on the same day, or on different days - again depending on the state/region :)
Thanks for the tweets NW! I hope this March changes police culture. . .
I would say, since the Climate Change March or the Immigration Reform March.
Next is to get Folks to Vote out the Prosecutors, local Council and the state and Fed elected officials who consistently ignore the cries and demands from their constituents.
This is part of the challenge to convert anger and protest into organized action such as community organizing and electoral power
The Very First Tweet with Eric Gardner’s Eyes seeking for Justice while watching is…… a Wake Up Call……Poetic.
The Angela Davis Tweet is……. Get Up and Be Counted. <3 it.

This is what the protester holding the sign should read, and realize he’s joined the ranks of the lynch mob.
We are not against police officers, we are just against the bad ones.
{{NW}}, thank you for posting these tweets from the marches today.
You’re welcome, Sjterrid.
bella2758, Also, the bad court officers, lawyers, judges, sheriffs, prosecutors and correction officers.
The brother of the man shot in Wal-Mart asked us in D.C.to boycott Wal-mart. He was hurting because they have never offered an apology for allowing the cops to run into the store and fun down his brother his brother while in the toy section.
Chips, I won’t post the tweet here - but I AGREE WITH YOU 100000% about that nauseating MEGALO-maniac who seems to be on a self-promoting campaign….You know which tweet I’m referring to. :)
Honestly Hopefruit, I almost spewed - who the **** do these ego maniacs like him think they are?! This movement has NOTHING to do with them, it’s from the ground up, but these self-promoting twats are trying to leech off it. I LOATHE them!!!!
They are worthy of every last drop of disgust. And they have the audacity to pass judgment while sitting in the comfy studios of COMCAST…
Ha, exactly Hopefruit!! Their hypocrisy knows NOOOOOOOOOO bounds!
{{{{{{{{{{Thank you for these comments my Chips and hopefruit2.}}}}}}}}}} Remember he was doing this from day one. Remember the persons who were in the WH and trying to get there., but PBO has always believed with every fiber in him to know the power of getting people to register and allow their power to be within that vote and then have the freedom to choose. He truly has always been a great giver and leader. This is one reason that I will always support him and give of my loving family one who is sacrificing for the work that PBO is doing for this nation and the world.
Thanks so much, Nerdy W. for this post. This is why I continue to believe that Change is hard, but it will come. I will be gone when it rises up where my nieces and great nieces will taste the beauty of it; but I am sure that they will continue to move and use the resources that their parents have instilled in them to fight for what is right to do for all people. I will never give up my hope. I give of my time and one of the most precious living and beloved one in my life to this nation every day of my life, and it is so important to me to support the rightness of a just cause for all people. I will trust and continue to believe and lift up President Barack Obama and his Administration. I do appreciate the one lady who spoke and mentioned that President Obama cannot do it all by himself. She also gave words of appreciation.
I am so grateful for our beautiful Chips and all of the wonderful contributors who stand up and keep us moving together to continue to support of PBO. As Bofr reminds us: #TrustBarack. Together We Can. I am a believer. I hope that everyone in my TOD family will have a beautiful weekend and enjoy your space. We have so much to be grateful for and much to continue to work to change for the better.HZ

You know what, people like Trymaine Lee are first class jack asses. He must have forgotten that Barack Obama has a black wife and two black daughters. By the way I thought jobs, education, health care, are issues that black Americans are concern about too.
Some people are so dam stupid, and yes I mean the man holding that sign and that Trymaine Lee.
You know what’s so funny about Trymaine? The only reason he has appeared on MSNBC is because there’s an African american President in the White House. There are so many AAs folks who are doing well on the coattails of the President. When I see someone who looks like Trymaine, I know it is both jealousy. it’s also anger because he represent the attitudes of people who still suffer from the remnants of our intragroup hue racism. Trymaine believes that it is his dark colored skin which deprives him of similar opportunities like President Obama. This is at the root of Trymaine’s problem with the President.
Nerdy Wonka thank you for your magnificent coverage of the various marches. You make the MSM seem like amateurs…which incidentally
they are. You rock, Nerdy!!
Thank you, Hope44.

#Ovoid2017. Derived from “Obama Void/Obamavoid/Obama-void” - it is the pervasive sense of emptiness, depression, boredom and hollowness that EVERYONE (haters, supporters, Obots, MSM, Koch bros, Emoprogs, RWNJ’s, ODS-ers, Blackademics, WHPC, blogosphere, International community) will experience almost immediately after PBO takes off in that helicopter on Inauguration Day in Jan 2017….
Depressing me…..
Not going there. Not. Until, and unless, it is no longer an option. I will wait. And see.
It’s the power of the people. Bless them.
I have no idea why our so-called MSM continue to draw salaries for their “work.”
I read two articles about what’s going on in the Senate now (one from Politico, linked to at TOD on the previous thread, the other from HuffPo in my Twitter TL).
Didn’t feel informed at all about what is happening now — the articles just weren’t clear (to me) and I had more questions after I read them than before.
Here’s a succinct synopsis:
“F” that liberal commentator. It wasn’t Barack Obama who before he walked into the oval office were having meetings with Democrats letting it be known that he would not compromise with any Republicans in anyway. It was the Republicans and their racists base who hated this President and wanted him to fail.
Too bad there isn’t a “oops” button in WP.
Meant to post this tweet that explains far better what is happening in the senate than the MSM.
Hee hee :)
Who doesn’t love time-lapse videos?
Whoa!
Bravo to Mychal Bell.
I think it’s time for jammies and a cocktail.
Oh. I’m so glad I’m not the only one. Wine, for me, please.
Watching Marco Polo on Netflix. So far so good!
Disappointed about the spending bill but that’s what we get when the idiotic public voted R and decided to stay home. No sympathy to the whiners on Huffington Post and other sites.
On the bright side republicans are PISSED at their own party.
Not only all this, but something tells me that being in the minority will put the onus on R’s to actually work…and it will all be out in the open. They can’t blame anyone else for their messes…not with majorities in both houses….some fur is gonna fly because they ARE pissed at their own party:)
Had to tell a friend that we deserve what we get with these evil republicans.
Unfortunately, when 38% of the people that voted make the rules for the rest of us….that sucks. How to get around that? VOTE EVERY TIME!
Heisman Trophy winner from Hawaii-first ever. He reminds me very much of PO——-the (extreme) humility and respect. Came through over and over and over…..in all the pre-interviews and in his speech and post interview. His whole thing is “team” and “others”, not about him.
So glad he won!!!
Congratulation to the young man who won the Heisman. I’m glad it wasn’t the Florida St. quarterback. I am not a fan of his.
Same here. I didn’t even see his name when they showed the vote totals. This young man who won got the third highest first place votes in history. It was a BIG landslide win. One of the guys from ESPN mentioned beforehand that if Mario won, HI would be represented by first president ever and first ever Heisman winner.
Thanks, TMG, for posting.
Have ignored sports for awhile now, but his speech was something else, definitely worth watching. Both Marcus and his Dad teared up, and loved that he spoke Polynesian (?) and expressed his gratitude for being taught humility and respect.
And the audience looked like the Obama Coalition!
Hoping that President Obama is giving high 5s all around — I’m sure Marcus was a favorite for him, since Marcus is from Hawaii, and Michelle’s brother coached at rival OSU.
Who wouldn’t root for a team called the Ducks? Go Eugene.
http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/12025046/marcus-mariota-oregon-ducks-wins-heisman-trophy
I was so moved by his speech. Did you notice one of the guys in the studio was chocked up too? Repeat: So thrilled he won.
So AWESOME! #BlackLivesMatter worldwide.
Carrying this over from the previous thread.

You’re welcome. Saw your request on a previous thread.
Harry Reid is kicking ass and taking names this evening. And getting lots of help from the stoopid caucus led by Ted Cruz. He’s on track to ram through the outstanding judicial and administration nominees plus passage of the Crominbus.
Yep!! Final vote on funding bill happening now …
http://www.c-span.org/video/?323319-1/us-senate-legislative-business&live
It’s passed but the big message is that McConnell is going to hate being Majority Leader because without a bunch of Dems he’s going to get zero legislation of substance (i.e., other than naming post offices, etc), passed.

TESTING - January 2014
I’ve been experimenting with this Picture of the Month thingie that I promised to do earlier in the summer. I have gathered a couple of pics for Jan to Dec for you guys to vote on but am totally unsure of the simplest way to present the choices.
Crossing fingers and toes in the hopes I do not cause great chaos. Closing eyes tightly too in the manner of a toddler hoping for the best
/opened eyes slowly/
Well I guess it’s better the 3 pics didn’t show than that they showed but messed up the thread. Sigh! The thing is, I can post the pics easily enough, but then wouldn’t know how to get you guys to record your votes without taking up a lot of space. Was hoping the poll site I found would take care of that. Guess not. I can look at the page, but can’t seem to embed it properly. Ah well! I’ll fiddle around again tomorrow - my brain’s had enough fiddling for tonight.

Picture of the Month - January: Choose I
I’ve just thought of the simplest way for you to choose (ignoring the fact I can’t get the poll/survey to work). Mentally label the pics ‘A’ to ‘D’, and simply include your choice in your next comment in the most current thread. Example: “Yo VC, January = C for me” etc. Then carry on with whatever else you were about to say. I’ll record each response I see.
I’ll do 2 months daily over the next 6 days. Not the most efficient way to do this, but at least it’ll get done.
