    GOOD EVENING, TOD!

Once again, great roundup of tweets, NW.

Amazing that you capture what’s going on every day, when so much *is* happening.

Mac users, I have a question. I don’t what the heck I did, but my mini menu bar has disappeared and I need it back.

Where it says, Apple, Yahoo, Google Maps, etc., in the picture, has disappeared. How do I get those short cuts back?

    Thanks.

I’ve never seen a layout like that but did you try pulling down the View menu at the very top of the screen and click on some of those toggles?

        January 15, 2025 at 8:23 pm

Yeah, I’ve been trying that but no dice.

If I only knew what the heck that bar was called, I would be able to correctly Google an explanation.

The thing is, it looks like a dupe of your favorites bar. Is it another bar looking thing or just separate (movable) icons on the desktop?

          • 17 Nerdy Wonka
            January 15, 2025 at 8:31 pm

They’re movable in that you can move them from side to side. As in, replace the order, so that Yahoo! moves to first place and Apple moves to second place on the bar.

                It’s back!!!!!

You were right. It was just a faster/short cut duplicate of my favorites bar.

Meta? I LOVE YOU…..I LOVE YOU….I LOVE YOU…I LOVE YOU!

You come through every freaking time.

                Thank you so much. :)

Flip Nerdy, I don’t use a menu bar like that so I have NO clue. This might be one of the very rare occasions when Amk is useful around here, wake up Mister, fix this.

There’s an area on top right with a “magnifying glass”, write the words mini menu bar in it.
It should bring up several items for you to choose from. If you find what you’re looking for,
then click on it, and it should appear on your screen. Hope this works :)

Not all of them are racists, but some of them are. And like you said it does not seem to bother them that their base and office holders are first class racists. I always say that not all Republicans are racists, just 99.9% of them.

As I think of this latest right wing ugly attack on the Obamas were Mike Huckabee was questioning their parenting, Elizabeth Lauten and her article. I find myself admiring the First Lady more and more. Because if it was me, you can talk about the President, he’s grown, he choose to run for this job, you can even talk about me, I can take it, but leave my kids alone. Leave them alone. I know FLOTUS can’t say anything, she has to hold her peace, but sometimes it can’t be easy.

Exactly, Df. That was the point I made earlier. Everyone who made the film and everyone in it will be hot property in Hollywood if it makes a lot of money both in theaters and on dvd. The movie did not cost much to make, so it should make a very big profit. Encourage everyone you know to go see it often.

If of interest … the Pope makes some strong statements in the Philippines (ahh, Jesuits) … and so very much reminds me of President Obama and his upcoming SOTU!

“The first part of Friday morning’s official welcome ceremony at Malacanan required the Pope to sign the so-called “Golden Book.” This is what he wrote, in English: “On the President and people of this beloved land of the Philippines, I ask Almighty God’s abundant blessings of wisdom, discernment, prosperity and peace” … That’s something new. Not the fact of signing the visitor’s book or invoking blessings of prosperity and peace. It’s that word “discernment,” a very Jesuit word, most often associated with Ignatian spirituality, the simplest meaning of which is “the ability to decide between truth and error, between right and wrong” … It’s the word that set the tone for the Pope’s first public speech here in the Philippines, a speech addressed precisely to those who make the decisions: government leaders, authorities, diplomats, and the President himself.”

I really, really like this Pope!

    • 114 MightyPamela
      January 16, 2025 at 3:25 pm

Discernment is a concept often and dynamically used in metaphysical studies, as it invokes a sense of our Higher Intelligence and activates a level of conscious, Soul Awareness. God works through human beings, as we answer to ourselves, and ultimately to God. Discernment is about taking responsibility for all our actions, our speech, even our thoughts. As we consistently witness President Obama actively doing. I am very pleased Pope Francis is finally lifting the shroud of darkness which has befallen the RCC doctrines, and setting people free of the yoke. Jesus Christ was so much more than the RCC and other Christian religions have attempted to confine him into being. And they have all made too much money over the millenia, selling his name and enslaving people with their twisted beliefs.

Just had to block some weird guy from apparently Germany who followed me (couldn’t tell if he was for real or not, and saw something a little anti-everything in his R/Ts). But then this person - apparently from Prague - lifted my spirits! This tweet’s been passed around since Nov. 12, and finally surfaced in my TL, just in time to lift my spirits! Love it when that happens. And with this, I shall bid you all adieu.

JO’B, I think it is a powerful albeit confusing time for many here on Earth. There is information abounding which many have never been exposed to, and the human awakening is powerful, at the same time overwhelming for many. Old habits of thought are difficult to break, even once they are recognized, by each of us, even within ourselves.

Who saw Lawrence O’Donnell rewrite last night? It was about Rep. Steve Scalise when he was in office in Louisiana, the legislation was going to apologize for slavery. But Scalise said was not in favor of it, he said why should he apologize for something he didn’t do?.He was all set to block what they wanted to do, when David Vitter come up with removing the word apology and replacing it with regret. Now I fine myself wondering Scalise don’t think what black people went through with slavery was worth an apology, sounds just like something you would expect to hear from David Duke and the KKK.
