Sick at heart by this report, but not surprised. All you have to do is remember that Mike Brown initially was stopped for walking in an empty street which then escalated until he was dead.
There is little doubt that Loretta Lynch will be a good AG, but I so wish Eric Holder was staying for the remainder of PBO’s term. He is and has been just incredible.

5 billion thanks Chips and Nerdy for covering all the news - but especially the thread on AG Holder’s report. I had to force myself to keep reading all the details - it is so difficult to imagine having to live by such “rules” - and this, of course, is why it is so hard to remove the racism.
The white reaction has to range from disbelieve, amazement, horror or whatever word I can’t think of - to those who refuse to admit/believe what is happening and attack the messenger - proving yet again how racism is alive and well. I believe I am at the opposite end of the spectrum to Jake Tapper & am thankful that TOD provides the truth - that the media will do all it can to disprove.

That the court even agreed to hear this is disgusting - I’m not big on knowledge about SCOTUS - who decides what issues they will hear? I do often read that they refuse to hear some issues & this surely should have been one of them.
THe Justices decide which cases they will hear.
Only 4 justices needed to take a case.
Remember, the cases are first looked at by their clerks and then get put forward as possible cases for the justices. I think Justice Breyer once said that thousands are submitted for consideration every year and they whittle it down to about 150 that they actually take on.
Thanks Linda & idon - can the clerks reject cases outright? or just recommend? Easy to know 3 of the judges who decided to take this one - the 4th either wanted to kill Ocare or perhaps another decided once and forever to stop the GOP nonsense??

Thanks Nerdy and Chips for bringing in the DOJ results on the disgrace that is Ferguson and so many other US cities. I was not surprised by any of this, nor particularly saddened because it has long been the reality life for African-Americans in these United States. I will be surprised if anything real, transformative and lasting comes from it. So many of us are just tired and hopeless.

Iran wants peace but they don’t want to wind up like Ukraine who gave up all their nukes. America promised to protect them for giving up their nukes and are hands are tied because Putin is a crazy person and would go to war.

I have little doubt, nospin, that lots of Ferguson citizens, either individually or collectively, have all kinds of lawyers advising them on the civil suit actions they should take. This will play out over the next decade - and will likely cascade into surrounding townships and counties.
The DOJ may not have been able to charge Wilson as they wanted, but they made sure his actions had consequences. They ripped a nasty, ugly scab off that sundown town.

The fact that the Ferguson P.D.(and many others no doubt) are revenue basically revenue collecting agencies more than explains why serious crimes run rampant in our communities. These bastards are great at abusing innocent people and wouldn’t have a clue as how to handle a truly dangerous criminal. I would love to see what their record is on this.
As much as I’m sickened by this report, I thank God for Eric Holder and I sincerely hope that Loretta Lynch follows in his footsteps and makes these racist a**holes pay…all across this country.
