Judith, now that you’ve gotten the hang of posting pictures, you should post a pic of Sonny Til & the Orioles and let folks here know about the group. To me, the grandson looks a lot like his grandfather, it would be interesting to see pics of both.

Hi GGail - you’re right about the strong family resemblance between Sonny and his grandson, De’Sean Dooley. Sonny Til and The Orioles ignited R&B. Remarkably, they formed a partnership with a young Jewish woman in the late 40s who became their manager and traveled with them from New York to the South as they rose to musical nobility. I don’t know the whole story, but it was amazing.

They had a smooth sound with only two musical instruments to accompany them. My mother had all of their records. Sonny died @1981, if my memory serves correctly.

Contact your carrier customer service techie or if possible, go into a physical location, they have tricks for fixing what ails your phone.

All those Republican Mayors, news Editors, rich Businessmen were supporting this law when Pence and his team first crafted it, now that money is being removed from the coffers, they are turning their backs on him and in a hurry too!

Philadelphia, PA (March 31, 2025) – This week, following a long court battle, SEPTA will begin running the latest in a nation-wide series of shockingly bigoted anti-Islam ad campaigns paid for by the far-right American Freedom Defense Initiative (AFDI). The ads, which SEPTA initially rejected as defamatory, suggest that Muslims are Nazis and that anti-Semitism is inherent to Islamic theology. The Southern Poverty Law Center has labeled the sponsoring organization a “hate group” and its founder, Pamela Geller, was identified by the Center for American Progress (CAP) as among the ringleaders of an “Islamophobia network” of right-wing funders and activists working to foment irrational hatred of Muslims across the country.
Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP) - Philadelphia stands in steadfast opposition to this dangerous wave of hate speech, as have JVP chapters across the country when AFDI ads have appeared in cities like New York, San Francisco, Boston, Chicago, and Seattle.
