I hope this is a good deal.

I am not wary of Iran or whether it’s a good deal or not. What I am wary of is the radical right in this country and what they are subjecting fellow Americans to.

kind of a confusing message and contradictory.

It represents my feelings about Iran though considering the media is quick to bring up the injustices that occur in Iran and ignores our own failings and seemingly overlooks Saudi Arabia and Egypt’s human rights abuses.

      Jeff, you are so right.
The RW will call it a bad deal and try to destroy it no matter what the merits of the deal are.
The RW agenda is primarily interested in defeating President Obama.

Same efforts as they made about Obamacare and I hope with identical futility.

Sen. Al Franken has a suggestion for David Letterman’s new career after the comedian says goodbye to late-night TV in May.

Why not run for Senate in Indiana, since GOP Sen. Dan Coats is retiring after the 2016 elections?

Franken, the Saturday Night Live comedian-turned-politician, was discussing Indiana’s controversial “religious freedom” law when Letterman, a Hoosier, asked what could be done to make Gov. Mike Pence feel “uncomfortable.”

State and federal authorities have arrested three members of the white supremacist group the Ku Klux Klan — all of whom either work, or have worked, for Florida’s troubled prison agency — on charges of conspiring to kill a former prison inmate, prosecutors say.

Arrested Thursday were Thomas Jordan Driver, 25, David Elliot Moran, 47, and Charles Thomas Newcomb, 42, according to a news release from the state Attorney General’s Office. All three face charges of conspiracy to commit murder.

Prosecutors say Driver and Morgan work for the Department of Corrections, and Newcomb is a former prison employee.

“The defendants plotted the murder as retaliation for a fight between the inmate, who is African American, and Driver,” said in a prepared statement. The three belong to the Traditional Knights of the Ku Klux Klan, prosecutors say.

Department of Corrections Secretary Julie Jones said that the officials arrested were “part of a white supremacist group that was targeting inmates.”

Jones, who briefed Sen. Rob Bradley R-Fleming Island, after a hearing on her confirmation by the Senate Criminal Justice Appropriations, told him “we have done all the ‘intel’ work inside the prison. We have a handle on this.”

Jones told reporters she not aware of the investigation until the FBI was prepared to make the arrests. “You guys know more than I do,” she said and call “The FBI briefed me on the arrest. Not the circumstances. I helped them make the arrest and I wasn’t told what the circumstances were.”

She said the incident was “disquieting.”

I so HOPE there is something substantive to report on Iran, that the main issues are resolved. I know there is great contention over lifting sanctions immediately versus over time but perhaps something concrete has emerged that is acceptable to all.

I agree with you, meta. It sounds as if they have enough of an ‘agreement’ that they can proceed to the details that will lead to a signed document in June. I’ve heard people stupid enough to say they don’t understand what takes so long, forgetting that delicate treaties and agreements have, throughout history, taken a very long time to complete.

Vicki, it’s been a HUGE roller coaster, for sure. Which, thanks to the RWNJs in our nation, is true for everything PBO and his team have accomplished over the last 6 years. I cling to HOPE because it’s the only saving grace we have at times when things look so very grim, like the dog days of August 2008 (OMG).

The bottom line is that I trust PBO implicitly and completely to do what is best for all of us. I know he won’t compromise his principles just to say he got it done and I know he won’t give up when it gets hard. He is the MASTER at that!

Angie’s List, one of the first companies to object to Indiana’s religious freedom law, on Thursday morning said that the changes proposed by Indiana lawmakers did not go far enough in addressing the company’s concerns.

“Our position is that this ‘fix’ is insufficient,” Angie’s List CEO Bill Oesterle said in a statement, according to the Indianapolis Star. “There was no repeal of RFRA and no end to discrimination of homosexuals in Indiana.”

Oesterle said that as long as the Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RFRA) remains in place and Indiana does not provide further protections for gays and lesbians, Angie’s List will not expand its presence in the state, according to the Star.
