      They. Learn. Nothing.

Warren is sounding like an incoherent child. She wishes to completely sully the Democratic brand with her purity.

I have a question for Warren and the other emoprogs: what is YOUR solution to global trade and its inequities? Just “decide” that it’s 1945 and we can make everything ourselves?

We never hear solutions, just bitching because Daddy isn’t giving them everything they want.

And now we are really hearing it from “the people”: because of her whining about seeing the agreement, I’m seeing all kinds of tweets from regular people who think they get a line veto on things they do not understand.

God, I’m sick of alleged progressives. They don’t want progress - they want to to be TeaDems.

        May 19, 2025 at 6:37 pm

        line item veto ?

hahahaha… The Supreme Court already said that is unconstitutional during the Clinton nightmare presidency.

        How dumb are they?

My point - it’s the people who listen to Warren/Sanders/progressive talk who now think that they should have a direct say in every minute detail. It’s insane.

What’s really sad, 57, is when Warren focuses her anger on the Rs she is brilliant and would be a true asset to the Dems. I posted previously on her keynote speech to the CA Dem convention and it was a thing of beauty, best take down of trickle down economics I’ve ever heard from anyone. But she is so full of herself she thinks she is cool taking on the Dems as well, as if she knows best. She could be tremendous and instead is a nightmare. And for all of those rooting for EW presidential run, that is delusional. She is far too angry to make a good candidate and her focus is very limited.

        • 26 57andfemale
          May 20, 2025 at 10:44 am

It shows her political naivete, Foxfire. She doesn’t understand how to handle disagreements (I have no problem with opposing views, as long as they don’t do damage). But she is doing severe damage to the Democratic brand and therefore to her country. She could offer her expertise and opinions, privately, be part of the solution instead of part of the problem. She could bother to understand the complexity of trade agreements, and weigh - fairly - whether we are better with nothing than with something that curtails global abuses. But this is where she falls apart. It’s sad.

        • 27 57andfemale
          May 20, 2025 at 11:10 am

To say further, she IS brilliant. I believe in 99% of what she believes. But doing damage to the party, to PBO who has carved the way for every progressive policy moving forward - is not acceptable. She should know better, she should understand what’s going on. We cannot rebuild properly with this kind of idiocy. Someone as bright as Elizabeth Warren - there is no excuse.

I was watching Ed, but I had to turn that tv because I was fed up with Ed having a dam fit about the TPP, yes I said a dam fit and talking about what Elizabeth Warren said, and what the President said. Of course Warren is telling the truth and the President is not being up front. I couldn’t take it any longer.

    Thank you Nerdy.
This man’s speeches helped to shape, mold and free my mind as a young girl.
His boldness, confidence and truth stirred up my soul.
I did not realize it then but I was in prison and his words helped to set me free.
Malcolm X planted the seed of truth. Dr. Martin Luther King sprinkled the water for growth. SCLC helped nourished the path to help others.
I am so grateful for these experiences as a young girl.
As a woman I learned from all of this that change requires sacrifice.
The sacrifice of service is the greatest reward one can give even is it means your life.
Thank to Bro. Malcolm for your fearless life.

Apparently Mitch McConnell wants to bring the TPP to a vote this week, as Meta had reported yesterday.
Mike Lee has other ideas. He wants the Senate to vote first on the national Security Authorization and delay the TPP.
Sen. Lee must be enjoying watch the Dem Party at war within itself.

Anybody have a guess as to whether either of these measures will get voted on before Memorial Day? I have no clue.

My encounter with Malcolm X’s history: The Audubon Ballroom was down the street from me, off of 164th. We eventually moved up to 175th, but, being New Yorkers, my oldest brother and I would take long walks. And when we passed the ballroom, he’d always say “That’s where Malcolm X was killed”. My brother, a white Cuban immigrant, knew this was an important thing.

65% of New Jersey voters think that big bully Christie Kreme wouldn’t make a good President, but the bully said it’s because they don’t want him to leave from being their Governor. Isn’t that bully arrogant?

  29. May 19, 2025 at 6:38 pm

Amazing times in Ireland, there’s a referendum on Friday on whether gay marriage should be legalized - needless to say, the Catholic church oppose it, but every single political party supports it.

The latest poll has 69% saying yes, 25% no - it was 72-20, but the no side have been pulling out every scare tactic in the book, re gay adoption, etc.

I hate the fact that there even is a referendum, why should bigots be allowed vote on human beings’ basic rights, but there has to be one because a clause in the constitution needs to be altered.

If it’s passed, it’ll be an astonishing advance - as recently as 1993 it was actually a crime to commit a ‘homosexual act’ in Ireland.

Hoping for humanity on Friday Chipsticks! That would be a huge accomplishment in Ireland.

Speaking of the ugly side of the catholic (I refuse to capitalize it) religion did you read this the other day? Just sickening.

Oh Forus, just went to the link and read it, what a story - not only did the bastard abuse all those girls, he actually murdered a nun trying to protect them, and he got away with it. And the protection he got from the police dept, there are no words.

It’s horrific - how many women…and then they are surprised when people stop attending church. Until women have equality in the catholic church it should be boycotted.

Okay, i belong to a very progressive catholic church on a college campus. However, i will never forget the reason i walked away from it for many, many months. Reason was the night when election results came in and my state had votedto put discrimination of LINT people and their right to marriage equality into the constitution. That night, that state also re-elected war mothers shrub

    • 94 globalcitizenlinda
      May 19, 2025 at 6:57 pm

Oops, fat fingers. That time, war mongers shrub and darth vedar were also re-elected by the same voters who denied fellow humans their rights. Although my specific church had opposed these votes, the fact that the diocese was very vocal in support of bush, and against LGBTQ rights made it impossible for me to return to the church

WASHINGTON — As the fight over a massive international trade agreement heats up on Capitol Hill, Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) said on Tuesday that she wants to see Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton “weigh in on trade.” In an interview with The Huffington Post, Warren declined to say whether she would endorse Clinton. “Right now I think it’s important for her to have a chance to lay out her views on a whole host of issues, including trade,” she said.

Trade agreements have a thousand moving parts. The United States can’t negotiate with the other countries if various domestic interests are pouncing on the details. That’s why every president has been given fast-track authority over the past 80 years or so.

    Except Obama.

It sure is hard to be an intelligent leader in this country.
