      A Psalm of Life (1839)

Tell me not, in mournful numbers, Life is but an empty dream!
For the soul is dead that slumbers, and things are not what they seem.
      Life is real! Life is earnest! And the grave is not the goal;
Dust thou art, to dust returnest, was not spoken of the soul.

      Henry Wadsworth Longfellow 1807-1882

From Light thou art, and unto Light thou shall return. Amen. The Soul knows this, has always known. Weep now, rejoice tomorrow, for the Soul of Beau Biden is free of the pain endured in body, and he is as close to his family as ever, closer. Once the human path of grief has been trodden, they will all feel him near. For now, we can surround them all with our Love and Light, thus letting them know we are are here with them, for them. <3 Longfellow was correct, the Soul knows not of dust and decay, for it has never been separated from God.

“When Barbara Lewis lost her husband, Charles, to testicular cancer in 1978, the 32-year-old Delaware native had a 7-year-old daughter, a 2 ½-year-old son, no health benefits and no job. But she had one powerful asset: Sen. Joe Biden was in her corner. The Democratic lawmaker grieved with her, personally assured her of his support and deployed his office to tackle the tedious but necessary paperwork to help her get on her feet. She experienced a heartfelt, personal connection coupled with constituent service that brought the best of politics to her at the worst of times. She told her story amid the national outpouring of support for the vice president as he mourns his son Beau, who was taken by brain cancer at 46. As Beau lies in honor at Legislative Hall in Dover, Del., ahead of his funeral on Saturday, Lewis wants the vice president to know that some of the people he comforted in their grief years ago have not forgotten and are ready to give back. “He has his friends here, and we are thinking about him,” she told Yahoo News in a telephone interview. “He never forgot us. He was always there for us. Now, in spirit, we are with him. We feel his pain.”

Lewis went to high school with Biden’s sister, Valerie, and has had a lifelong acquaintance with the senator turned vice president. She is also my mother-in-law. She spoke by telephone from the cozy townhome she bought decades ago shortly after getting married, sharing new details of an old story that still brings tears to her eyes. When Lewis’ husband died, Biden came to the viewing and the funeral. “He was just so supportive — told me, ďż˝?If you need anything, you call me.’ He gave me his private number to call. He was just wonderful,” she said. Had her husband passed away just two months later, Lewis would have been eligible for the late DuPont computer scientist’s medical benefits. Instead, she got nothing. Biden’s office swept in, helping her through important paperwork. “I didn’t work at the time, and I had these two little children under the age of 7,” she said. “Within a month, I had Social Security.”…continued”

As our thoughts go with the Bidens …

    People make the father smile
    One heart to another heart
    Helps him walk another mile
    Briefly helps his tears depart

The loving son has gone on first
    A proud family waves farewell
He was here but for a time
Until he heard the angel’s bell

Now they know they all can cling
To each other’s hands, not alone
Later they’ll smile in the knowing
God just called their loved one home.

Can’t move away from thinking about the Biden family. I think they’ll hold on to each other and make it through the next few days … the Irish have a way of expecting snakes and famine and death and stuff to happen, so they have that on their side.

    ***

The father’s hand on the casket of the son
Pressing the son’s hand under polished wood
No matter we know he can’t feel his pulse
He pressed and he thought he could
    So he could.
    So he could.

      June 4, 2025 at 4:36 pm

One more, then I’m going to dry my eyes and move on for a bit!

      ***

When the mother and sister were gone
And only the dad and brothers remained
God sent a lovely angel named Jill
And she helped make it a home again.

Today as a son joins the family in heaven
His mother waiting there surely rejoices
That on earth when he referred to angel mother
He knew he had two choices.

{{{{{ Bidens & JO’B }}}}} Bless you, JO’B, your gift of Light and Love is shared by many. Today I am celebrating the 25th anniversary of my only Sister Crossing, into the arms of my Mother, who had gone on 17 years earlier. My sister was only 28, leukemia took her from us. But on the morning she departed, over there in Baltimore, I felt her Heart soar, and heard her Voice speak to me: “There is No Goodbye”, it is a clear in my mind that day as it is today. I knew I would have to travel the path of human emotion, but I knew at the same time eventually I would return to that place of Light and Joy, and that hour has shaped my life ever since. <3

Hey y’all! I’m laid up fighting off a summer virus that’s been going around. Tired of hacking up phlegm and inspecting the plumbing.

As i fade in and out consciousness from the meds, thought I’d share a few words of advice:

Remember to wash your hands thoroughly and often. Encourage sick co-workers to stay home if they can (or wear a mask if they can’t) … And if your neighbors kids cough and sneeze in your face while you’re out and about, resist the urge to punch the whole family in the throat. It’s a crime, not matter how bad you want to do it.

    Be well.

I swear I saw a woman in the produce aisle at the market a couple of days ago coughing and coughing and coughing without covering her mouth. I almost jumped out of my skin! I couldn’t believe my eyes. I walked right out of there.

Nick Saban, head coach at the University of Alabama…would expect nothing less from a school that has had 6 felony arrests in the football program in the last 3 months

“Alabama coach Nick Saban is not in favor of the SEC’s new rule banning schools from accepting transfers who were subject to official disciplinary action for sexual assault, domestic violence or other forms of sexual violence at their previous school, Saban said Thursday prior to the start of his annual charity golf tournament. The rule was passed in the wake of ex-Alabama and Georgia defensive lineman Jonathan Taylor being arrested on domestic violence charges after transferring to Alabama following an arrest on domestic violence charges at Georgia last year that led to his dismissal from the team. The question Thursday: “Were you in favor of the SEC rule that was passed about banning transfers for players who’ve had serious misconduct at their previous schools.” “No,” Saban said…continued”

Walking closely with the Biden Family today: on the day of my Sister’s funeral, there had been a wedding earlier in the day. All the flowers had been left in place. Her casket was placed on the same altar she herself had been married at, only 18 months earlier. It seemed somehow beyond belief that it could be so. This day is huge with emotion, with caring, and understanding, with Compassion and full Heartedness. <3
