Oh yeah… and in two years China will be there, and blow things up. ANd the USA will end up with having to agree to a deal dictated by China.
Democrats will finally see the light, president Obama will be vindicated. But USA workers will have lost.
The problem of President Obama ? He doesn’t put enough of a good “show”; “fists on the table”, never uses demagoguery and irrational arguments… He just does the right thing, presents his case, and thinks that rationality will win the day.
Unfortunately, he often underestimates the potential for absurdity and hysteria in Washington politics.
One other thing: there has been this narrative built that he is not a tough negotiator. People are fools. They mistake his conciliatory demeanor for weakness. He’s willing to make concessions, yes. But these are always careful concessions, and he always keep his main goals in mind.
While other politicians are often good on rhetoric, but you look past that, and in effect they give up the store.

He’ll work the House in some ways we don’t know, as he is always working behind the scenes, and when they think it’s all over, is when it works best. I rarely take Steny Hoyer’s pronouncements seriously…..let them think it’s over…….always, the looooooong game. He’ll recoup his strength and resources and storm the battlements…..in a quiet, persistent way, like he has built the digital cohort in D.C.

So the latest on TPA:
House GOP is considering holding a vote maybe this week on a stand-alone TPA bill. GOP says they think they have the votes to pass it. So it look like they think the can detangle the TPA from the TAA. That would then require the Senate to figure out what to do with TAA at some other point in time.
This possibility of this option was asked at the WH briefing today and Josh refused to discuss tactics and process until there is a clear path. Not sure how PBO would react to this idea. Dems would most certainly FREAK OUT.
