Let’s see - for some time now, we’ve known that WP likes to hold on to comments that have either: Too many hashtags or too many tweets in it and yet we continue to post comments like this and then become frustrated when WP holds on to them. Are we expecting WP to fall in line with our desire to continue this practice? :-)
That theory would hold up well, Gail, with the exception that NW and Chips can post an endless string of tweets without any apparent delay in their appearing. Perhaps they post and then have to ‘moderate’ to break them loose.
And, yes, WP should get its act together and simply enable each blog owner to set the parameters for number of # & @ allowed per comment.

Life imprisonment is what I would advocate for.
Sorry, but mental illness does not explain what this guy did. He very carefully and rationally planned his killing. He made sure that the venue was appropriate for taking out the maximum number of lives in the shortest amount of time. He purchased and accumulated large amounts of weaponry. He made sure to arm and armor himself in protective gear. He made sure to booby trap his apartment. Those plans were accomplished not on impulse during a “psychotic break”, or in a moment of maniacal rage, but over an extended period of many months, and required much follow-through, logical planning and mental focus.
I’m sick and tired of the “mental illness” excuse being used to protect these privileged affluent mass murderers, when you have urban youth with severe (and mostly undiagnosed) forms of PTSD being deemed “thugs” by society and their misdemeanors and petty crimes being used to justify cops killing them at will.
Having said that, I will say that I don’t support the death penalty in most situations - but if I did support it, this guy would not get a pass from me because of “mental illness.”
