Too often today we hear about the lives of young people after they are sadly dead. Haunted by the murders of those 3 young Muslim-Americans, methodically and deliberately killed in NC, and also by those lost fighting Western wildfires this month, most of whom fulfilled their selfless dreams of becoming firemen. So, so sad, some am soaking in every story about Anthony Sadler, Spencer Stone, and Alek Skarlatos.

Seems pretty clear to me that there is a coordinated effort from Senate Dems to announce their yes votes one by one. Drip… drip… drip… And I’m confident this is Reid’s strategy, and he will announce his yes vote in last. Big press conference, with all his colleagues who support the deal beside him. Means big splash in the news.

Seeing that picture of the MLK Memorial reminded me to remind you all that time is passing by…..When is TOD coming to DC next year to visit the WH, The MLK Memorial, The National Museum of American History (where you can see the First Ladies Exhibit) The Newseum and on and on and on and on…..Need I say more?????
Me, I am waiting for you to get the tickets, or whatever approval is needed, then letting us know the dates. If you plan it, *we* (or some of us) will come! GDD, I know you couldn’t get enough for all of us, but you could try for a specific number (say 25/40/?), couldn’t you? Theo tried to get approval/ticckets from her senators for a tour in January 2013 when we were both going to be there *nudge-nudge; wink-wink* but was unsuccessful.
Well folks will need to decide because with the WH visit my contact is a retired secret service agent and once a date is established they will need to provide him information in order to get their names on the list to enter the White House. They still basically run your name through their system before you get to go. With that said, I am more than happy to coordinate things and Alycee has agreed to help but I wanted the group to kind of decide when they wanted to come. I live here and as long as there is nothing going on with work my schedule is flexible although I prefer late spring/early summer.

When me, Tally, JoJo & Purpleshoes were at the Salsa event, Purpleshoes brought the subject up and collectively we agreed that June would be a good month for the WH visit.
If others agree, then we can begin to save up our money and you local DC folks can work on getting us in.
What would be needed to request a visit with POTUS and/or FLOTUS?

You will be given his email address and he will ask for your drivers license and social security number (I will have nothing to do with any of this part). Once he has all of your vital information you’ll get an email from him on instructions about where to go, what you can bring into the WH and this one cracked me up….to relieve yourself before you go cause you don’t get to use the Prez bathroom….I kid you not!! :) We can get more into it once I have an idea of how many people are serious about going.
OMG, I would be so crazed if we could get into the WH. I mean, really, we have to do this before POTUS and FLOTUS leave. I really have no desire after that, unless it’s our Joe!

Late spring, early summer works beautifully for me - means I won’t have to worry about winter coat! I just need to know when you know so that I can block myself off from the on-call for work. I am already grinning at the very thought!!!!
Well, now that I know your work schedule may be flexible and you could possibly spend some time with us, I would love to come. I prefer Spring as well. Maybe 3 days or so? It would be great if we could all stay in the same hotel so if anybody has any suggestions, that would be so helpful.
I will absolutely try to come whenever the majority decides. The only dates we should not pick are during the Democratic Convention in Philly July 25-28 in case someone we really love is accepting the nomination (hint Joe). Early June might be nice unless our teachers couldn’t make it then.
I think mid or late June would be perfect. I don’t know teachers Summer break schedule, but sick & vacation days could be used. :-)
I’m in; however, I am unavailable June 27th - July 5th. Will be more then happy to assist with planning and coordination.
BTW, DD, please note that (since no one else has answered yet :D :D ) *I* am NUMBER 1 on the list for TOD tickets to visit all the places you’ve named…. with you. [Truthfully, I’m only interested in experiencing the WH ambience while the Obamas are there so if we don’t make it before January 2017, I’ll withdraw my name from the front of the line. ;) ]

The rise in the polls of Trump and the effect it is having on the GOP clown car’s seating order is bigger than political parties. It is bigger than Dem or Republican or Socialist labels. It speaks to how receptive the white general public is to the doctrine of white supremacy. It is important to keep in mind that although the GOP exploits the doctrine for its benefit, the doctrine of white supremacy is bigger than the GOP. I often refer to it as America’s real religion, and I am not kidding. It is a fundamental foundation upon which this country was created and it defines how a whole lot of people view the world and their place in it. Indoctrination often starts at birth and is reinforced by a complicit media and educational system. Refutation of the doctrine is met with ever rising levels of anger and anxiety by its adherents. Trump is tapping into this anger and anxiety.

If Joe Biden is able to temper Mrs Warren’s ego, and if she relents on her criticism of Barack Obama, I would be excited to see E. Warren throw her support to Joe Biden. I don’t think I would want her on the ticket though; I don’t see her as a President. She doesn’t have enough depth of thinking on a myriad of subjects to become president if the unthinkable happened. Elizabeth Warren, like Bernie Sanders, is the champion of one cause: rebuild the middle class and limit the power of Big Money.
Joe Biden has worked with Barack Obama daily , for years. He’s seen the inside. He’s seen how difficult the job is, he’s seen how much the president’s heart is in a good place, he’s seen how difficult it is to make changes. He understands how the president has been working hard to implement change, without creating instability in the financial system. The VP can make a strong case for the President and his administration, and if Mrs. Warren is willing to listen, she’ll let go of her unfair criticism of the president and will direct the criticism where it belongs: the plutocracy and their enablers in Congress.
Oh… can we dream of a Biden presidency, with Barack Obama going back to leading a grassroots movement for change ? OFA has helped President Obama during the last years, no doubt about it. But the movement would be twice as powerful if the “leader”, liberated from the most consuming job in the world, came back at the helm of the organization…
