Beautiful moments with our beloved First Family. Makes me so happy to think of them away, on break, having fun, being at ease, being together all day and all night. But Iâm selfishly glad that they are back home in the White House, where they belong, and thrive.
Good Morning TOD Family and Happy Birthday to COS & Dannysticks.
This is the photo from last nights TOD meet up with MTmarilyn, her hubby & friend, our lovely Tally in the Galaxy BD shirt she loves, our lovely GGail and me JoJo. We had dinner at the Spaghetti Factory in Duarte, CA which is a wonderful place that was once a one room school house. MTmarilyn and hubby came baring wonderful gifts of books & MT gin and vodka that we will consume on the Sept Birthday get together. We have our my birthday and a belated one with Betsy.
Enjoy and everyone have a great day, MTmarilyn & hubby thank you once again, have a wonderful remaining trip, and a safe trip home!
GM, Jojo - looking good you all! How was the show - it was last night, right?
Oh, do I envy you! What a nice group. I so wish to be included in one of these meet-ups. What do I need to do? Pay a fee? Move to SoCal? Just tell me what to do?
———-
Good Morning TODVille!
You guys look wonderful! Unfortunately that too long a cab ride from Chicago!
Hey Chicago-area peeps - we should do this!
GM ALL. VC - the show is in October and I need to purchase my tickets today. NCLB & 57, if you are ever in SoCal let our planning coordinator, GGail know and she will arrange the meet-up if your schedule allows it :) :) :)
Iâll keep that in mind. Thank you, Jojo.
October, eh? All I saw was Sunday. :D :D
Yes, please let me know and Iâll arrange everything :-)
Fantastic! You all look wonderful Iâm so happy that MTMarilyn and her husband could join you all. It sounds like you all had a wonderful time.
Good morning TODville! Last night was so much fun. The opportunity to meet up is so special. I feel honored to have met Tally, Jojo, and GGail. What very special women. Such great food and great conversation. This community is bringing people together who will change the world.
typical vogues gallery? :)
jealous? :) :) :) Amk, surely your business travels must bring you to SoCal one of these days…..
You all make my heart sing! Cannot wait to meet as many TOD peeps as possible at the DC reunion next June. Letâs do this!
Good morning JoJo!!!
Lovely of you to post our group photo from last night. We had such a warm and wonderful time with MtMarilyn, her patient and endearing husband who tolerated all of our noisy conversations and they even brought along a friend for us to meet, who happens to be very good people. We spent three glorious hours talking, laughing and sharing. Marilyn is such a warm person that if you donât like her instantly, then you donât have a heart <3
Thank you Marilyn for your taking the time and the desire to visit with us and for the awesome books plus the Montana Gin and Montana Vodka. We will definitely try those out during our September Birthday bash for JoJo's birthday.
LL, Marilyn brought a couple of books for you that she would like you to share with your Library branch. We'll be sure to give them to you at our September get-together.
Marilyn is the type of person that you wish lived near you. I miss her already. I wish you and your husband safe travels back home. <3
Gorgeous. I <3 it!
Oh, you all look great. Iâm so glad that you all had a great time.

Isnât Henderson where Harry Reid lives ?
Yes, Linda Sen. Reidâs Iran announcement came in time for maximum notice, not that I think heâd have voted No in any case.
:)
Scott Walkerâs longtime chief of staff Eric Schutt is stepping down, the governorâs office announced.
Schutt is leaving âto pursue other opportunities and to spend more time with family,â Walkerâs office said in a statement. It did not say what those opportunities are.
Schutt played a key role in helping pass Walkerâs three state budgets and his legislation repealing collective bargaining for most public employees.
Walkerâs campaign has suffered from declining poll numbers, a weak performance in the first GOP presidential debate, ongoing scandals, and growing national awareness of his economic failures as governor. A recent Marquette University Law School poll found Walker losing to Hillary Clinton among Wisconsin voters in a theoretical matchup. The poll also showed Walkerâs favorability rating falling below 40 percent for the first time.
http://www.wisconsingazette.com/political/scott-walkers-chief-of-staff-quits-amid-plummeting-poll-numbers.html
All of Walkerâs staffer are as corrupt and dirty as he is.
Walker is one sad, corrupt sack that I would love to see drop out of the race in a humiliating defeat. The Koch Brothers poured truckloads of money into this guy and got the state of Wisconsin. They want to buy the US, but have chosen the wrong jackass as their vehicle.
Excellent assessment of pathetic Scott Walker!
Good Morning, Everyone :)
Treats for Danny!!
Happy Birthday Danny-the-Boy! What a nice cake! Just fitting for the handsome I saw on the previous post.
Wow, that cake is Fine looking.
Danny, please keep the biscuit, but do Fedex a slice for me ;)
<3
I missed the excellent news about Harry Reid and the Iran deal!
RTâd & added…
Good for Sen. Stabenow. The holdouts are going to start to look a little silly in the coming days. And Schumer is going to carry the stigma of his stupidity for a very long time.
Precisely, JackieG!!
Once again…they Underestimated the President
Getting closer!
Yeepee!
I am beginning to think that PBO told Bibi a long time ago that the United States will NOT go to War for him and that is why Bibi is having a meltdown and tried to interfere with our 2012 election. He wanted PBO OUT and the puppet Romney in.
YUP!!!!
Carly Fiorina, who I cannot stand, is the only Republican saying what is the reality. She said that the rest of the World has moved on with regard to the Iran Deal.
Hi, Linda. Carly may not yet have finished her pitcher of KoolAid, yet. She may still have moments of sanity.
LOL.
Good Morning TOD
Happy Birthday COS
Happy Birthday Danny
YES
I expect weâll more today as POTUS is back in town.
Excellent News! So this makes 27?
Never mind. I canât read. Itâs 28
:D :D Yes, but have you read my latest email?
I have now :)
:D :D
Wow! One has to be a big church to take that step.
Thank you for posting.
WOW!
Lawd, our media is feckless!
Good tweet. These people just have fingers they donât know what to do with!
What I am most afraid of concerning the DOW drop is Donald Trump taking advantage of it rhetorically and winning over more support.
The stock market crash of 1987 is perhaps more remarkable than the more recent Tech Bubble or Financial Crisis Crashes and singular even today because of the fact that it was and still is the largest one-day change in market history. The Dow Industrial Average lost 22.6% on October 19th 1987, or $500 billion dollars.
Reagan did NOT say anything. All he did was send out a bogus statement.
The President {{Ronald Reagan}} has watched today with concern the continued drop in the stock marketâŚ.consultations confirm our view that the underlying economy remains sound. We are in the longest peacetime expansion in history. Employment is at the highest level ever. Manufacturing output is up. The trade deficit, when adjusted for changes in currencies, is steadily improving. And, as the chairman of the Federal Reserve has recently stated, there is no evidence of a resurgence of inflation in the United States.” - White House Statement released on October 19, 2025
What is happening today is chump change ……
I meant to post this.
in another month or so it will be back to where it was. not worried
In another month? By tomorrow.
:-)
Good for Sen. Stabenow, #28 confirmed.
Pretty soon Chuckie the Cheese will be standing almost alone.
Or, possibly if Menendez is forced to leave the Senate, entirely alone.
(Cheese stands alone is some ancient nursery rhyme thing from my childhood, hundreds of years ago)
Farmer in the Dell :) only because its one of the grand girls favorites that I can answer this so quickly.
Bravo!!! Donna. Thank you.
Okay, I missed that in my growing up. How does the cheese stand alone?
:) :) :) :) :)
The mouse takes the cheese
The mouse takes the cheese
Heigh ho the derry-o
The mouse takes the cheese
The cheese stands alone
The cheese stands alone
Heigh ho the derry-o
The cheese stands alone
Heigh ho the derry-o
The cheese stands alone
Oh my, thanks, Donna. Now Iâll be singing that in my head all day.
You have me grinning, JG. Of course because of you and DD it will now be playing in my head too. :D :D
This was actually an ‘actionâ song in *my* time, where youâd skip around on the inside of the ring, gathering the *members* of the farmerâs family. In our version the song didnât stop where this video stops; instead each person/animal ran off one by one until only the cheese was left.
I refuse, I refuse, I refuse :) to click on because like JG I will be singing this for the rest of the day :)
:D :D :D
Iâm still fuming over Schumer. We cannot let him lead the Senate under any circumstances.
Youâre absolutely right on this, meta. When the time comes, we have to have massive pushback against any vote that gives the leadership to Schumer. He has to know the consequences of supreme disloyalty to his country and his president. Who could ever trust him again?
YES. We have to run our own campaign to fight this tooth and nail. In my eyes, heâs now no better than the GOP who invited Netanyahu to speak against our POTUS on our own soil. UGH.
He should NEVER be allowed to say the Pledge of Allegiance to the United States of America again, IMO
According to Wikipedia
âThe minority leader is often assisted in his/her role by one or more whips, whose job is to enforce party discipline on votes deemed to be crucial by the party leadership and to ensure that members do not vote against the position of the party leaders.
*** Some votes are deemed to be so crucial as to lead to punitive measures (such as demotion from choice committee assignments) for members who violate the party line;
decisions such as these are often made by the minority leader in conjunction with other senior party leaders.â
I think we could use this point, in the second sentence above (***), in our campaign to keep Schumer from becoming Minority Leader. The new Minority Leader will be elected by the Senate Democratic Caucus. So we should be campaigning for our position with every single Democratic Senator when the time comes.
Good point! I have mentioned this to Senator Merkley at a town hall in Oregon.
The people who are so confident about winning sure are nervous about the possibility of a Biden candidacy.
On Bill Mahar last Friday one of the guests, Charles Cook who writes for the National Review said Trump had to be on LSD in Alabama.
It may appear that Trump is riding high at the moment, but he has a lot of scurrilous and illegal crap on his hands that his enemies (and believe me, he has plenty) are just waiting to unload on his despicable ass. He may have money, but he donât have that much money.
THIS
Yup! #ridenwithbiden
yep yep. Waiting for Biden.
Not that they will, but keeping it in their faces from now until 17 Sept is just what we should be doing …
Happy Independence Day, Ukraine!
This must irk Putin no end!! He tries to act so macho and has his soldiers trying to usurp Ukraine. Then these three just do something so dang heroic and act and stand so humbly..
Iâm sure our president is beaming with pride of these young menâs action and bravery. Glad to see them represent the best America has to offer with our French friends.
[Chips! Welcome back, happy belated b-day! And NW, I bow to thee! Zizi, your essay is fabulous! Great posts! And now I bow to Ms. Lupita! The article is about the “Black Slot” in US theater world, and this play which should be fascinating. Lots in the article. Sorry, itâs WSJ.]
[…..] After Danai Guriraâs play âEclipsedâ opened at Yale Repertory Theatre in the fall of 2009 under the direction of Liesl Tommy, it won an NAACP Award, the Helen Hayes Award for Best New Play and the Connecticut Critics Circle Award for Outstanding Production of a Play.
And yet, Ms. Tommy and Ms. Gurira couldnât find a New York theater willing to produce the story, which chronicles the struggles of four women held captive by a rebel-faction leader in the second Liberian civil war. […..]
âWhat compels me about âEclipsed,â â Ms. Nyongâo said, âis that though it is a story about women who have lost their physical power to bondage, it is also an exploration of how they seek and find power within their restricted circumstances. This is not a story about victims; itâs a story about survivors.â

Ms. Chips - Welcome Home!!
Happy Birthday Cos!
Happy Birthday Danny!
TODers have a wonderful day.
Letter from the White House
I was in the first company of Marines to enter Baghdad in 2003.
As a combat veteran, I know the cost of war. It is something I still carry with me today in the U.S. House of Representatives, where I have the privilege of representing the people of northeast Massachusetts. And I am reminded of it every time the questions of war and peace come before Congress.
In September, we will face that question once more when members of Congress consider whether or not to support the Iran nuclear agreement.
During the Iraq war, I saw the weapons and influence of the Iranian regime, and I deeply understand the threat Iran poses to America and our allies like Israel. That is why it is so crucial that the international community works together to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon.
After careful deliberation, I believe the Iran nuclear deal does just that. You can investigate the deal yourself here.
Let me be clear: I do not, and we should not, trust Iran to comply with this agreement. But this deal is not based on trust. Itâs based on enforceable verification measures that are comprehensive enough to be effective. Inspections will also give us greater intelligence on Iran than we have today.
I respect that some, including a few veterans, may disagree and feel that there is the possibility of a “better deal” out there. To them I say, whatâs the alternative?
You may hear of two: increasing our sanctions regime or pursuing a military option. Hereâs why those are just not acceptable:
Increasing sanctions — let alone maintaining them — would only work if the international coalition behind the sanctions holds together. But our allies have been clear: They agreed to sanctions to force Iran to the negotiating table to secure a deal like the one we now have. If we walk away from that deal, we walk away alone.
The other option, taking military action against Iran, would once again imperil the lives of Americans to achieve much less than this deal achieves by diplomatic means. Military action would only set Iranâs nuclear program back a few years at most, reaffirm their pursuit of a nuclear weapon, and drive the program underground.
Both these options leave us worse off than we are under the terms of the Iran deal. The fact is there is no “better deal” that will prevent Iran from building a bomb.
No deal is perfect, especially one negotiated among adversaries. But, in our ongoing confrontation with a great threat to world peace, we have found the best available option by peaceful means rather than pursuing a worse option through war. It is for these reasons that I support the Iran deal.
And if you read it for yourself, I feel you will too.
Thank you,
Seth Moulton
Member of Congress
@sethmoulton
Another reason I really like Rep. Moulton.
YUP!
I donât know if anyone else has made this connection but the Iran Deal vote is connected to the will Biden run? who stands with HRC? questions.
It is true that Hillary has voiced support for the Iran deal. Not loudly or often, but she has said the right things.
Nevertheless, many of her richest supporters stand with Bibi and Chuck.
The intersection that caught my attention is the number of Hillary supporting Senators who voted Yes. Jeanne Shaheen and Kirsten Gillibrand, early on, and Claire McCaskill later.
I think the WillBidenRun ship has left the dock.
Iâm not sure I follow your point, how itâs connected to whether he runs.
[Oh Jeebus! I think Iâll go into my corner & have the greatest cackle! :) ]:
With Trump soaring, the media mogul suggested the former New York mayor as a worthy rival candidate but was quick to point out he wouldnât vote for him.
Rupert Murdoch wants former New York mayor and media billionaire Michael Bloomberg to run for president.
With Donald Trumpâs candidature becoming a serious proposition, Murdoch tweeted on Sunday that it was time for “next billionaire candidate” in Bloomberg who he described as New Yorkâs “greatest mayor.”
The executive co-chairman of 21st Century Fox and executive chairman of News Corp went on to say that though he disagreed with a lot of what Bloomberg did in office, particularly the “nannystate” policies, he said that he was a great “philanthropic executive” that, along with Rudy Giuliani, made New York city the greatest. […..]

I hope I am posting the right Breaking News now.
Neither do I you, or him.
Hello TOD.
Fantastic R&S, Chips. Thanks.
Congrats to all the Gold :star: winners, starting with this post and 2 posts back.
Even thought POTUS is heading out to NV today, there is a WH Presser with Josh “The Voice” Earnest schooling the WHPC
Ha! At this rate the Dow will be in positive territory by 4:00 today. It is now only down 168 pts.
Down 136 now.
Your prediction may be right.
The Volatility is usually at itâs PEAK in the last 45mins to 1 hr of trading.
To go from 1089 points in the negative and to 166 points in the negative……id historical and unprecedented.
US Traders are Over-Reacting. USâs Economic Fundamentals are sound. This Volatility, in my view is due to the changes made in Digital Trading over a decade ago.
