[dropping kids off at the mall] “You live here now, I won’t be back.”

    ***

This so reminds me of when my son was a teenager, but not old enough to drive. He’d occasionally ask if I’d drop him and a couple of his friends at the mall to go to the movies, on a Saturday night. I’d ask how they were getting home, and he told me more than once that one of the other boy’s parents would be picking them up. Then, later, I’d get “the call” that the other parent couldn’t make it, so could I pick them up? (Never thought of that “You live there now” thingie, but I digress.) Then I’d spend the ride home chastising him for not making better arrangements and why was I always the only parent yada yada yada and he’d say he didn’t know that was gonna happen yada yada yada and we’d go back and forth. One night, one of his friends said from the back seat of the car, “You two sound just like Donny and Marie.”

I think I forced myself to grow up a little that night. Donny didn’t change much. Ha.

I have been noticing a lot of folks, both online and off, talking about wanting PBO to have another term. I realize most of this is in jest, but it underscores an undeniable truth that folks are getting braver in expressing publicly, i.e., we have been BLESSED to have PBO as our leader. Some people are ā€œwaking upā€ but more I think are feeling increasingly confident in voicing their support. Strange as it sounds, it has actually been controversial to support the President of the United States during the age of Obama (controversial in the eyes of the MSM/GOP and the sheeple who follow their lead). With PBO’s policies increasingly bearing fruit and his increased Executive actions following the 2014 midterms, the greatness of his presidency is becoming harder and harder to refute. This is giving formerly cowed individuals the confidence to publicly voice support and pine for a third term. Folks are starting to realize we will lose a great deal as a nation when PBO finishes his term.

Interesting point, Eric. Republicans were hoping for massive Obama fatigue throughout the country that would make people ’embrace’ the GOP candidate. Instead we’re seeing an increase in Obama love, inspired not only by his obvious greatness, but also by the frightening lunacy of the Republican candidates. The more hatred and bigotry Americans see spewed on a daily basis, the more they will cling to the goodness of President Obama-something that I think would work in favor of a Biden candidacy.

Reid’s statement on the Iran vote is hilarious:

Eek. That’s one year I didn’t miss! Todd thinks “updates” will fix it. Uh, no.

“ITK hears the addition of the 61-year-old actor’s voice is part of several updates moderator Chuck Todd has made to the show. Todd celebrates his one-year anniversary as moderator this week.”

Apart from the fact I was quite turned off by the language used in the title of this letter, the hypocrisy of the DNC chair floors me!! It’s letters like these Wasserman-Schultz’ staff is busy sending out while she makes choices that gum up what PBO’s trying to accomplish. I guess she and her staff assume that since the majority of Dems don’t vote they are also unaware of her dismal performance.

You probably got your own version but tossed it unopened. If you haven’t read it yet, do read it now and tell me what Dem progress Wasserman-Schultz has “worked so hard to achieve”.

    “Vicki —

I’ve always loved the back-to-school season. I love feeling the air get crisper (at least what qualifies for crisp in Florida). And even more, I love getting back to work with my colleagues at the Capitol.

But Republicans in Congress are dead-set on rolling back the progress that Democrats like you and I have worked so hard to achieve. They’ve already said that they’re going to try to repeal Obamacare, after more than 50 unsuccessful attempts (and two Supreme Court rulings in the law’s favor). They want to completely defund Planned Parenthood, an organization that provides necessary health services to women across the country. And if they don’t get their way, they’re just fine with shutting down the government — again!

I’m going to be frank: That pisses me off. As a woman, a mother, and a cancer survivor, I say that we can’t stand for this kind of irresponsible behavior — and it’s exactly what we’ll see more of if Republicans retain their majority in 2016. The American people deserve better.

If you’re with me, chip in $3 right now to help elect more Democrats.
    …………………………..
Thank you, Vicki — I appreciate your support more than you know.

 I guess she hasn’t read any of my tweets suggesting if she cannot support the president it’s time she quit as DNC chair.

She, and all the DEM candidates that ran away from PBO’s record want to preach to us about “rolling back progress” when many of them could not say the Presidents name…..I delete ALL the begging for money emails and throw away all the letters.

I’m a pretty frank person, but I’m not the Chair of the DNC. She actually used “That pisses me off” in her letter? (I unsubscribed a long time ago.) How classy, how cute. I wouldn’t send her 3 nickels.

That was the eye-catching heading for the letter, JO’B!! I was very much affronted by its crassness.

She’s trying to be “one of the cool kids.” Not a good look on her! That’s okay among “friends,” but … I don’t know … who am I to judge, I guess. I’m just sick of her, in general.

So many of these politicians are so tone deaf, and I’m not talking music! They hesitate to support a president who has been chosen by millions and who is doing an awesome job, yet they have the nerve to send out fundraisers linking themselves with these very millions whose leader they are messing with (Democrats like you and I). You and I are nothing alike, Deborah. When I am the chair of an organization I chair, I support my team, and if I have issues with my team members I sort it out with them under the radar!

I too am, and have been, sick of Wasserman-Schultz. She has been a great failure as team leader as far as I can see!

Jacqueline, I deleted that email the moment I saw her name. I know she is intelligent enough to know that she has “pissed” off a lot of folks. I could not believe that she was sitting there nodding her head when VP Biden mentioned the dysfunctional congress.

She also acted like a schoolgirl with a crush around VP Biden that day … which made me gag. I think she’s overwhelmed by her “importance,” all of a sudden, or the renewed limelight. It would be more “important” for her to resign her chairmanship.

You know what COS, before Pres. Obama came on the national stage I used to take for granted that most of these politicians were “intelligent enough”, what with their degrees from here, there and everywhere, and the fact that they were in a leadership role for which people had chosen them. These past years have disabused me of that belief. I don’t care what, or how many, degrees these guys have, the vast majority of them have shown themselves to be idiots! It seems like many of them cannot wait to fall back into the uninspired political rut in which they had moved previously. In over 6 years of seeing him in action and having the opportunity to work with him, they still do not understand their leader and have learned precious little in how to govern despite having a master teacher. Fie upon her/them!

Indeed! And if we have more ‘truth’ being spoken about our misspent past, more honest accounting, and more leaders of PBO’s bent, we’ll have more and more of this kind of citizen and citizenship manifesting itself. My eyes are tired so I put the full article on my ‘later’ list.

Thanks for posting this, Bob! I love how Sen. Reid operates….especially calling McConnell’s B.S. with his own words….this is also a reason I’m very worried about Schumer, he doesn’t represent the Democratic party nationwide….let alone his own caucus.

    Good night, Bobfr.

    G’Night again, JO’B! :D

Sleep is being elusive tonight, so I’m still playing computer solitaire (Offspring taught me the day before he left to return to his studies). Though I’ve played over 100 games I won’t share my winning (30%) grade yet though. ;)
