Speaking of football as it should be played - I just watched an interview of Michael Parkinson (probably somewhat out of date) & it seems his favorite ever person to interview (and afterwards a close friend) was George Best - what memories.
Ah, I can remember seeing old interviews he did with Best, he just adored him - his brilliance and his vulnerability, and his rascal-ness! Best interviewer ever, loved Parky!
He comes across rather well as the interviewee as well :) Son of a coal miner - whose mother hated the life of a miner’s wife - some amazing life experiences - without the interviews - but he smiled when talking about George.

You know meta, I did find it a bit odd when I received two emails in succession yesterday, one from the DNC and another from DWS…(I have not received emails from these two in months, since I unsubscribed to many of those email lists).
I found myself wondering what was up…
My evil twin noted the bit about ‘she ended by saying she spoke to President Obama last night and that solidified her support’ and my evil twin put her own preferred interpretation on it. Ergo, PBO told her to get her butt in line or put her resignation on his desk! She could have spoken to PBO anytime these last few weeks - we all know he made himself and his knowledgeable staff availabIe for anyone needing clarification! And she could have done so on the quiet (have I said lately I hate Dems who air disagreements with this particular president via MSM? I hate them because he has been the most open prezzy ever)!
In short, I am glad her vote is on the right side BUT she gets no pats from me because she delivered a *dirty* vote., one which, in this instance reveals her true lack of commitment to the democratic big picture. [rant on hiatus]
And would have been nice if she had told Tapper to take a jump - rather than cry about her jewish heart.
TS, I cannot explain the anger I have in my heart towards her after this round of wimpishness on her part re PBO’s plans! Over and over again! PBO is the very best of my people I’ve seen on the public stage under continued and unrelenting, and oftentimes vindictive, scrutiny for years now. I’ve said this here before, when you cannot give him benefit of the doubt after all his accomplishments, you cut at the very heart of me. I read this as you telling me that *I* am less than nothing in your eyes, because PBO is so much more than I am! That hurts! And every time they do it, especially those who are supposed to be a part of his team, those who can easily see him and sort things out with him, who can and should form a united front with him, it hardens something inside.

Boy oh Boy, I know polls are polls and can be wrong but it certainly appears that the media has been successful (as I predicted last year) in tearing Hillary down. Those poll numbers this morning out of NH are dismal for her. I’m not a news watcher as you all know but I have Sirrus radio in my car and when I am traveling and commuting during the day I have on either progressive radio or cnn or msnbc and all I can say is that cable and the MSM have been relentless this summer going after her about that (IMO) bogus email scandal. It has been daily and non stop 24/7. It’s amazing to watch how the press is able to take Dems down while glorifying and giving constant free press to a two bit reality show carnival barker who has mastered how to play the press on a daily basis. No fan of hers but if they can do it to her they will do it to Sanders, or VP Joe or any other candidate we put up. And the funny thing is that this was all so predicable. Unfortunately, I’m finding myself becoming more and more cynical of the democratic process each and everyday.
OH DONNA DEM….I THINK IT IS ALL GOING TO FALL RIGHT WHERE IT IS SUPPOSED TO….I BELIEVE THIIS CONTRY WILL GET WHAT IT DESERVES FOR ITS TREATMENT OF OUR PBO…WE HAVE HAD THE BEST AND WE CRAPPED ALL OVER IT! PAYBACKS ARE…………..WELL…………………..YOU FILL IN THE BLANKS!
Part of the issue is the DNC and their poor scheduling of debates. They are trying to protect HRC to crown her the Dem nominee, but instead it’s backfiring.
The DNC needs to force the public (and of course the media) to listen the DEM message instead of trying to hide in order to protect HRC. The MSM (AKA the Donald Trump media) is having a field day with pushing GOP talking points, while creating “scandal” after useless scandal about HRC, and are going unchallenged.
Part of it continues to be HRC’s inability to handle these issues in a way that shuts down the mess. Her saying she didn’t think through the whole email thing just doesn’t ring true when you see that she went to the trouble to hire a State Dept employee & paid him on a personal basis to set up a private system. So there some very deliberate planning there for whatever reason. And now this guy is taking the 5th not only with the stupid committee but with the FBI and it turns out he may have been in violation of a State Dept rule about number of hours you can work outside the agency. (She seems to have a pattern and practice of doing this often - a bit of a revolving door btwn business & personal employees overlapping). So now instead of leading all this up, there’s more doubts for the press to latch onto.
Nothing criminal for her but she can’t get past it and the whole freakin’ party is getting stuck on this nonsense coming from all MSM quarters.

Actually, they are following the GOP playbook of building up Sanders to tear down Clinton. If they manage to get Clinton out then they will go after Sanders. The MSM seem to be pushing Bush. The talking heads haven’t been tearing him down like they have Clinton and Trump who is in the lead for the GOP.

Just a thought with regard to Hill’s poll numbers: Everyone predicted “Obama fatigue”……that has not happened, but I think we are seeing “Clinton fatigue.” They have been prominent on the national scene since 1990…….that’s a long time. We have followed their tears and triumphs and scandals, until, I think people are worn out. Once again, she was supposed to be inevitable, and once again, the more people see her, the less likely she is to be the candidate. I like Hillary…….admired her for lots of reasons, but I think her time has passed, and the Clintons’ time has passed. This situation is tailor made for our wonderful Joe Biden to step in.
