Donna, I doubt there are many people in the country who have a clue about Labor Day. It’s an excuse for one more picnic, the emotional/psychological end of summer, the last day women of our parents generation could wear white shoes.
Goooooooood morning Donna!
I was looking for a nice recipe for brownies last night so I started following this. It was only when I got to 46 seconds I realized there was a problem:
Lawd! It took the fish for you to figure out that recipe had a problem. I’ll never eat a brownie again.
Well, the first 45 seconds just looked normal enough to me, that’s how I combine my ingredients too :-)
Yikes, that’s the most disgusting glop I’ve seen. The whole thing is like a horror movie.
Aw Jackie, it looked delicious apart from that ingredient! :-)
Almost 7 million people have watched that video, I wonder how many followed the recipe?
Just one….
  Drop yer mic!
:D :D
Heh bt, didjaknowthis?

Oooooooooh, very lovely - although that’s only Northern Ireland, it’s way more beautiful in the proper Ireland
#lazybum
‘Scuse me: economical use of energy.
So, um, Chips, when was the last time you crossed the rope bridge?
I have a bit of an issue with rope bridges Jackie, if I tried to cross one I’d probably emit something like that brownie mix.
You are probably part of a very big club of anti-rope bridge people. I would consider myself a charter member.
:-) Life’s way too short for tummy-churning experiences like that.

I seem to have always been afraid of falling from high places. When I was around thirteen my Dad had a home movie camera (that is what they called them then). On one of our family vacations he was taking short action scenes most of the trip. In one place we had to cross over this rope swinging extension bridge. I remember my two younger brothers thought it was great fun to jump up and down and get the bridge swaying when I was trying to get across. No wonder I ended up on my hands and knees crawling across the bridge with my entire family laughing so hard they were crying all the while my Dad was taking pictures he would show to everyone who would visit. At thirteen there is not much more embarrassing than that other than my Dad taking pictures of you eating cuz he was really into running everything fast or slow motion or in reverse.
Jackie, my fave series ever in the history of the universe is ’50 Ways To Kill Your Mammy’ - it’s by a Dublin fella who gets his Mammy to do mad adventurous things (she’s probably crossed a rope bridge), she’s an absolute hoot, I ADORE her! eg:
That is wild! I thank God I have more benevolent children.
Good Morning Chips and TOD! Happy Labor Day!
Mooooooooorning Wanda!
Wonderful to hear, Chips. Another way in which PBO nails down the “How to be the Best President Ever” title.
Also-Good morning TOD. Happy Labor Day to all.
Sept. 7 . Today starts my 10 day countdown to the end of even the itsy-bitsy teeny tiny chance that the Iran Deal can be derailed. Clock runs out on Sept. 17.

THINGS YOUR BITCH ASS BETTER NOT DO AT A LABOR DAY COOKOUT
Damon Young, 9/3/15
Labor Day is almost here. Which means the summer is officially over. Which sucks. Because it felt like we had three weeks of summer this year. Like, you remember how it took Meek Mill an entire month to write and release a wack diss track for Drake? That’s how long summer felt. The span of a Meek Mill studio session.
Fortunately, Labor Day allows us to end on a high note with the end-of-summer Labor Day weekend cookouts. But, before the weekend hits, there are some things that need to be addressed. Some things your bitch ass better not do at a Labor Day cookout. Which are different than Memorial Day and 4th of July cookouts, because everyone knows that the summer ends when the cookout ends, so people are already a tad bit on edge. Tread lightly.
1. Make a to-go-plate before anyone else even ate
2. Make like a thousand to-go plates for people who didn’t show up
3. Hover around the food

i had to laugh because we have had cookouts when most of these things have happened. We are all more alike than we are different.
GM TOD.
add another one…
Make a plate for someone else’s man….not a goood thang
Serious question: why aren’t we -the USA-taking in some Syrian refugees?
GM Rikyrah, from what I can gather I think it has to do with the screening that has to take place with refugees. Our system is setup to take in about a total of 60K refugees per year and people are asking us to take 50K from Syria alone. The system as it is cannot handle that volume. Look at how the Repubs want to handle the 11 Million undocumented. Can you imagine if we bring in 50K from Syria the hysteria that will be sounded by them that President Obama is allowing potential terrorist into the country. I’m sure it’s more complicated than this but this is the jest of what I have been able to read.
I heard a person who works with an official refuge agency (of the UN?) say that the US has been taking in refugees for a while now. the person stated in fact US had taken in some of the highest numbers - before it became the headline issue it is now.
the difference is that the refugees US has taken in had to through a more rigorous screening to determine if there are some potential security risks. but once cleared, the numbers were commendable - except most of the media will not mention this.
SoS Kerry has said that the US is working on logistics to increase the current number of admissions and to do it faster
my comments refer to Syrian refugees specifically

Thanks Meta.
After Friday’s heartfelt speech to Dems in Florida, can see how torn @VP is about tossing his hat in the ring.
Can completely understand @DrBiden’s reluctance in going through the campaign process — MSM and GOP are relentless hyenas — but I think @FLOTUS would be there every step of the way (a good friend who knows about handling unfair attacks).
Still crossing my fingers that @VP announces candidacy for President 2016.
IMO he’d strip away Sanders’ #WhitePrivilege supporters, leaving only rabid PUMAs as nay-sayers.
@VP’s speech today was so on point, a reminder why we need Joe to continue @POTUS’ policies through 2020.
I love the ad. “F” the haters. She is the best and they can’t stand it. Go Serena.
thanks Alycee
