What will happen Vicki and amk is at least 41 of the 42 DEMS who support blocking the GOP’s efforts to scuttle the Iran Deal will vote against cloture. At that point, the GOP legislation is dead. It doesn’t go to the House; the President doesn’t have to veto it; and, neither the Senate or House will have to vote to sustain the President’s veto.
The GOP wants this thing to die, now ….

Thing is, Vicki, the GOP is sooooooo predictable …. because they’re not only #CHICKENHAWKS, they’re chickensh^ts …. as they most recently have proved re: Syrian WMD and declared military action against DAESH.

BTW, with the majority of Americans already supporting the Iran Deal, had the Senate Dems not blocked cloture, then by the time Leader Pelosi’s House Dems voted to sustain the President’s veto, all Senate and House GOPers would have been on record (1 x for the Senate, 2 x for the House) of being on the wrong side of history & on the wrong side of their constituency’s expressed interest.
What makes that outcome particularly toxic is that the Iran Deal would stand, by virtue of the House Dems sustaining the President’s veto, and by 8 Nov 2025 any American paying attention will know that Iran not only complied with their part of the bargain, but all kinds of now likely positive developments in the ME would be underway as a result of President Obama and the Dems leadership.
So in other words if the world ended now President Obama would be considered the victor?

We don’t know yet how the vote will shake down but since this is construed as THE final vote, we may wind up with all 42 votes. McConnell is cornered.

Anyone else read the article on MSNBC in which it is explained how Democrats used race to reaffirm stereotype, in a bid to attract so called Regan dems , aka white “working class voters. Minority voters saw through this crap & remained home, avoided the vote. Dems lost. Clinton’s role is explained. Reminds me of 2014 & the crapp about Clinton-dems

Boring, with a splash of humor, to watch a little CNN this morning - and to see Republican strategists now blame “the media” for Trump’s rise … and the anchors blame “the polls” for their non-stop coverage. And the women on set with their pretend “I’m shocked” that Trump would make anti-woman comments. Then the ad nauseum clips of Chris Cuomo’s interview with Trump, where Chris (who’s as mean-spirited as Trump, IMO) pretends to take him down. And everybody’s rollin’ their eyes, during all of it, to show “distaste,” while also chuckling to each other.
And the beat goes on. You built this @GOP.

Every year, thousands of high school students get ready for the SAT by using The Princeton Review’s test preparation services.
But few, if any, realize that the prices for The Princeton Review’s online SAT tutoring packages vary substantially depending on where customers live. If they type some ZIP codes into the company’s website, they are offered The Princeton Review’s Premier course for as little as $6,600. For other ZIP codes, the same course costs as much as $8,400.
One unexpected effect of the company’s geographic approach to pricing is that Asians are almost twice as likely to be offered a higher price than non-Asians, an analysis by ProPublica shows.

I’m starting to think that is the whole point. I hate being this cynical but I wouldn’t put anything past her at this point.
At the Greek-Macedonian border, officers are being shown beating refugees with batons, little crying children nearby. The post-traumatic shock these fleeing families will suffer is almost unbearable to think about, and this was only part of their struggles to get out of their countries.
They also made them kneel down in the mud in the pouring rain.
This is getting really bad.
It’s the heartbreaking, iconic images like that, which often turn the tide. Here’s hoping!
