Sorry your day is starting out with such frustration. Yet you managed to give us such an amazing cornucopia of glorious photos. That’s real dedication. Thank you. Hope the day gets better.
It can only get better, Jackie! Between broadband, phone and cable problems I feel like I have been on hold on calls to these people for most of my life. When I become President they will pay for their crimes!!!
Is this an announcement, Chips? Are you running for president? You have a natural base here and with all of us on your side you’d be a shoo-in. Danny would be such a natural successor to Bo in the White House.
Morning all!! Happy Friday! missed Colbert last night…hope that we can get a video here at some point…I can’t be the ONLY one that missed it:) Thanks to Nerdy’s tweets and postings, I got the gist of it, but I want to see it for real.
Bobfr…enjoy your weekend. Hope your absence will be for pleasure and not work:)
57…hope the dogs are alright.
Off to read….
The anniversary of that terrifying, devastating day again…..peace…
It was on for part of the time at my house…I can’t tell you how much I loathe the Patriots….goes back further than just that lying re: deflategate. What a bunch of assholes…including Mr. Kraft. They’d lie and cheat to their own mothers if it would get them what they wanted, and then they’d all swear they didn’t. Can’t stand them. Morning, Don:)
I am doing OK. Yes, I am glad it’s Friday, too. Although it was a short week, it seemed like a long week because I worked late everyday the last three days. Glad for a reprieve.
Thanks for asking about the pups. Kasper is healing from his inch-long puncture wound and his black eye is looking much better. He likes his food with Mommy’s organic chicken soup, the little stinker.
Nickelby needs some answers for his persistent cough. Mr. 57 passed out Wednesday night and told the doctor yesterday that he was “fine”. Waiting for the lab work to come back.
I’m here at the office, working for the sociopath.
I have my hands full……..
But Joe was glorious on Colbert, and Colbert was amazing. Find it! See it!
Serena Williams is the greatest female player - John McEnroe
“I think Serena is one of the all-time greatest athletes, period. Man or woman,” added McEnroe, a former world number one and four-time US Open winner.
“You’re looking at an incredible athlete and we’ve got to enjoy this last year or two that we have her around, because there’s going to be a huge void when she’s gone.”
Tickets for the women’s final at Flushing Meadows sold out quicker than for the men’s showpiece for the first time, while Williams’s pursuit of the calendar Slam has helped increase TV viewing figures.
“It was a boost for the US Open in general,” said McEnroe.
“Obviously for women’s tennis it helps a great deal because without Serena, where would they be right now?
“I bet you 98% of people in the States couldn’t tell you who the other three semi-finalists are.”
You know what’s interesting. My husband and I pay $150 a month for Obamacare. I have to transfer to Medicare because I will be 65 in October. My Part A premium is 104.98 per month. My Part B is 138.00 per month. and My Part D is 16.00 per month. Under Obamacare everything was covered by that one monthly premium but now I will pay about $258 a month. After I pay health coverage, I will have about $725 a month to live on in California. I really really prefer Obamacare.
Great great interview. Seriously, you really can’t fake honesty and sincerity. It just has to be part of your nature. That’s just who my beloved Vice President is. He’s real. He’s brilliant. And he’s my guy.
The Pittsburgh Steelers struggled with communication problems in the first half of their 28-21 loss at New England Thursday night, with their coach-to-coach headset system echoing the Patriots’ radio broadcast for most of the first half. Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin told reporters of the headset issues after the game “that’s always the case [here].” So what exactly happened, and are the Patriots to blame?
Honestly I am probably going to skip this season. To me the NFL has zero credibility to be taken seriously and what makes it worse is much of the fan base enables the cheating by naively believing that the Pats are 100 percent legit. Headsets malfunctioning and then the media adds that the pats claims this happens to them too and thus the media runs with it.
I can see a serious scandal breaking out over all these things in the coming years and it isn’t going to be pretty.
I cried through the whole VP Joe interview. He is such a great man, so heartbroken and so wise. I believe him when he says he doesn’t know but I hope he will do what is right for himself. I trust him. But I would be crazy if I didn’t want him to be my next POTUS. Everything he stands for is clear evidence that he is the one that should come after our beloved PBO. HE is the one.
That interview between the VPOTUS and Colbert was powerful. Cried most of the way through……his feelings are still raw…..but he has great inner strength. I hope he runs…..I hope he can find the inner passion and drive to do it. We NEED him.
Good Morning Chips, Danny, Nerdy amk, bobfr. I haven’t been on lately been up in the north country with my Sister. The one Sister I have asked for prayers for passed away last night. It was kind of sudden complications with some meds the doctor proscribed for her. So I will be in & out for the next couple of weeks.
Meta, thanks for posting the Biden/Colbert clips. I love this VP. I wish he would run, but then, having just lost a family member I can understand if he doesn’t. It is a demanding job and he changed the look of what the VP is capable of doing given the opportunity to work and help the President.
BBL.
{{{{{Roberta}}}}}} My deepest condolences to you. Sending you strength and healing energy.
Watching Biden last night, it brought home how much “heart” is missing from the 2016 campaign. It is anger or lethargy or cruelty and selfishness - Biden crystallized what we need in a leader to do truly great and meaningful things.
When I lost my beloved brother 15 years ago, I was devastated. He was my best friend. But I also remember thinking after a time that I could live a better life in his name, achieve what he could not. That my legacy was better served than letting grief win. Yes, we grieve and we grieve long and that is as it must be. But eventually, being the best “me” I could be was a better monument to his enormous influence.
Biden must do what is best for him and his family. But we are his “family”, too. He is an extraordinary man and would make an extraordinary President.
Oh Roberta, I am so sorry for this dreadful loss. I hope you find the strength and support you need to get through this terrible time. My heart goes out to you and your family. Bless you.
I have to say I almost fell off my chair when VP Biden mentioned triangulation in his interview. It was as an example of how not to be in Washington. WOW. Truth-teller, yes.
President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama walk back towards the entrance of the White House after observing a moment of silence with White House staff on the 14th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
I just have to add that I stayed up late to watch our VP on Colbert last night. It was emotional and wrenching to be sure. I think you could have heard a pin drop in that theatre at times. VP connected in a very real way last night with millions across this country. As most here, i’m 100% behind VP whether he runs or not. But his sincerity is something that ALL the other candidates are sorely lacking, and I hope he runs.
He’d have my vote no question. The anti-Obama Bernie groupies would lose it because they’d lose pretty much all the support from Obama supporters who might have chosen him as the lesser of two evils.
BTW, we all know, even tho the ‘candidates’ (all of whom are totally unqualified) do not: they are all running against PBO, such is the magnitude of his Presidency, such is the undeniable fact that the bar for POTUS (male or female) will never be as low as it was before he took the office and showed them all what it means to be President of the United States. Small wonder they are all flustered and bewildered at this stage. They still think it’s a game, PBO has shown the entire world it certainly is not. Back in a bit with exciting news on the new moon/solar eclipse tomorrow.

It goes beyond deflate gate actually. There has been a lot of outing when it comes to the NFL and the way they coverup wrong doing.
Yup

Good West Coast morning Chipsticks & TOD family.
We will never forget where we were on this day…
Cuba has said it will release more than 3,500 prisoners in a goodwill gesture ahead of a visit by Pope Francis.
The government in Havana says those to be freed include inmates due for conditional release next year, as well as a number of foreign prisoners.
Those found guilty of crimes against state security will not be eligible, seemingly ruling out several high-profile political prisoners.
The Pope will make a three-day visit to the island next week.
http://www.bbc.com/news/world-latin-america-34220944
It’s a start. Maybe the Pope’s influence will be so great that they’ll release even more prisoners.

I want him to be POTUS in 2017 sooooo bad. I want Jill to be FLOTUS.
Oh boy! I will watch this at work this morning!!!
Thank you 3Chicks and DF!
I just finished watching VP Biden & Colbert and I love them both! <3 <3
OK, then!!
Which is part of why Republicans want to shut this down! Less for the Company, more benefits for the people!

Dirty Rat.
Yet Bratton and the police union will protect him to the bitter end. It won’t end until he kills someone.
Where is the picture of the suspect who could be Jame Blake’s twin, wasn’t it Bratton who said that?
I don’t think you will find one person who knows or has met James Blake that would use those words to describe him. This total BS.
