There’s a trend here …. Feckhead’s parents were actually, um, serial killers Fred and Rosemary West….

I just came back home to witness the following:

    1) MSNBC is showing The Donald live under the banner of “Breaking News”. What is so breaking about this news? I don’t know.
    2) The Donald’s speech substance revolves around his polls, the size of the nut jobs that follow him, how the country is going to have many wins, how his opponents are nasty, and blablablah.

    It’s incredible.

My experience was similar to yours. I came home turned MSNBC on to find a Donald rally in Dallas on. He had a huge crowd (20,000). Rats! I could not stand the bloviater. Rambling, bragging, repeating, lying, saying what he wants with no challenges from the media. It makes me sick to watch his audience fawn over him. I would hate to see all the good our current president has done be undone and worse by Trump.

Hopefruit, I must confess. I am watching the zillion of nut jobs in the arena salivating at the sight of Trump’s hair and breathing every spit coming from his mouth, not to mention listening with passion to the incoherence of what The Donald wants to pass for a speech… and I am dumbfounded. Every person is the arena and in every rally that this man has held represents a danger to this society.

        September 14, 2025 at 9:43 pm

I couldn’t agree more with you, nochild. Trump is a danger and his ardent followers are too.

Bernie is annoying and will eventually go back to his day job. Now he is filling up the gap left by (D) candidates who don’t inspire enthusiasm.

The actual danger and reason for distress is The Donald.

I can’t watch. I keep switching to see if they are still covering it. Guess they will go to the bitter end.

On another note and to switch subject off Trump, want to share something that happened last night at our Life Group meeting. (what our church calls our small groups…….we “do life” together.) We were discussing our wishes for having more diversity in our church and wishing we could grow/expand on the east side of Knoxville instead of continuing to go west and therefore, white. One member shared how our history is trying to be covered up. I chimed in and said, “Absolutely. It’s so bad that TX is rewriting their history textbooks and taking out or minimizing slavery, info about our founders, the KKK, MLK, etc.” One guy immediately said, “It’s the Teach for America group that’s doing that. It’s that liberal group that’s doing it and trying to make it seem like it’s the conservatives.” Good Lord almighty! I had to bite my tongue bigtime. Coming home I quickly found two links about the school board, how it voted, lots of info about that meeting and another link about the state SC and how they ruled the school boards could do what each wanted. It was after 11:00 but I sent those two links to three others in the group, pointing out that I am fact-based and I will not tolerate that totally wrong info to go unchallenged.

I read info from the links to my husband on the way home too. When finished, I said that I knew what Dave said was incorrect, but of course, he heard it on Fox News so it’s definitely true and he wouldn’t consider checking it……..just takes it and follows right along. My husband said nothing!! I’m still fume everytime I think about what he threw out there-total LIE! I could find NOTHING about Teach for America and TX schools, curriculum, textbooks, etc. I tried every combination when Googling and nothing came up.

The networks keep providing Trump with free advertising… and then act surprised by how popular he is. They are making him into a cult hero. Then someone wonders at the disconnect between PBO’s achievements and his popularity?! Look at how the networks have trashed him for years!

Clueless Matt Damon and astute George Clooney…no wonder I love him

    http://mashable.com/2015/09/14/george-clooney-roles-for-women/#nQ3Nr2tRSkkn

George Clooney has a very simple solution for Hollywood sexism: Just change more male parts into female characters.

As originally written, Our Brand Is Crisis — which just premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival — had a male lead who was based on the actual political strategist James Carville. George Clooney was attached to star in the film — until Sandra Bullock expressed interest in it.

The role was then revamped for Bullock, giving her the type of complex, meaty part that women in Hollywood crave. According to reviews, she delivers a stunning performance — and Clooney thinks more women should be given an opportunity to do the same.

Lordy be - we’ve lost the worst PM we ever had & the pollies are drooling - how sad for the wife & family. His wife never comes to Canberra with him & his vestigial virgin daughters (dressed all in white when he won an election) are all grown up and gone. He gets a MASSIVE government pension while telling those on benefit payments that they must cut back - we cannot afford to pay them. Hope he self deports back to the UK.

He is such a wimp he still hasn’t spoken to the press since losing his job. How sad, too bad

        September 14, 2025 at 9:24 pm

        Hi Meta

There is an extra entitlement - over an above the usual lurks and perks - which he is apparently entitled to after serving 2 years as PM. He is 4 days short. The basic entitlement is still there & it is a pension over $300,000 - he has been in parliament for over 20 years. About 8 years ago the rules were changed - but only for new members - the rest still get to live in luxury at the expense of the people.

And the extra - no doubt the new PM & his “team” will change the rules - so they won’t feel so bad about kicking the fool down the track.

And still no-one has seen Abbott today - I think he has to resign before the new PM can be sworn in - but I could be wrong. Would be typical Abbott to hide away. Hope PBO gets to meet Turnbull - might restore a little faith in Oz.

  25. 74 99ts
    September 14, 2025 at 8:57 pm

And I had completely forgotten - Abbott only won by 1 vote when he ousted Turnbull in 2009 - and it was because of the Carbon Tax which Turnbull supported. Then again - both of them live in millionaire Sydney suburbs representing the 1% every which way what way. Still - good to see the end of the religious right and their attempts to add religion to government.

it’s teann. so have a bag of salt.

Biden Secretly Meets With Top Obama Bundler During New York Swing.

But fewer than 12 hours after the Colbert interview aired, Biden partook in a meeting that signaled something entirely different. The meeting appeared nowhere on his public schedule. It was held in secret at his hotel in Midtown Manhattan and lasted for more than 90 minutes: a private, one-on-one session with one of the most prominent and powerful fundraising stars in the Democratic firmament—a mega-bundler who happens to be, at least for now, publicly committed to Hillary Clinton.

The bundler in question was Robert Wolf: the former chairman and CEO of UBS Americas, a prodigious buck-raker on behalf of Barack Obama in two successive campaigns, a four-time appointee to economic panels in the Obama administration, and perhaps the only person in the American business community—and certainly the sole Wall Street potentate—with whom Obama during his time in office has developed a deep and genuine friendship. (The two are frequent golf partners, most recently last month on Martha’s Vineyard, where they were part of a foursome with Larry David and White House senior adviser Valerie Jarrett’s cousin Cyrus Walker.)

Having picked up scuttlebutt about a possible Biden-Wolf tete-a-tete on Friday, I phoned Wolf over the weekend to see if it was true. Wolf, whom I’ve known since he first backed Obama in early 2007, confirmed that the meeting had taken place. The topics they discussed, Wolf said, ranged from the reauthorization of the Export-Import Bank to the nation’s crumbling infrastructure, a focus of Wolf’s consulting firm, 32 Advisors. When I asked him if Biden had declared definitively that he was running, Wolf said no. Had Biden made a plea for Wolf’s support? Wolf again said no—and pointed out he was supporting Clinton. Had Wolf come away with the impression that Biden was going to run? “If he doesn’t know yet,” Wolf said coyly, “how would I?”

Good evening! Good day, too. Mighty fine day, in fact. This afternoon, my son saw his oncologist for the official results of his recent brain MRI and rest-of-the-body PET Scan, and he is:

    C A N C E R F R E E

It’s pretty amazing! Of course, tomorrow he goes to the hospital for another operation relating to his lung removal in June (called an Eloesser Flap, but DO NOT look it up, especially on YouTube! — the surgeon said their nickname for it is “shark bite”) - and has another final fix-up operation a month down the road - but today and tonight have been pretty amazing!

Thanks for all your good thoughts and wishes and prayers. Much, much appreciated!
