I agree, Jeff. There are many fine science magnet schools around the country that would love to have a boy like Ahmed, Hope his parents look into it and decide to move. This young man has a bright future if he isnât done in first by a twisted culture that typecasts everyone the minute theyâre born.
And of these GOP KKKochroaches are talking about rescuing Syrian refugees and bringing them to America. Well, I have 100% recovered, himself - if it is a sting that caused his paw problem - is 90% there. I took him out today for the first time since last Friday-ish, he was like a de-caged bird!

When Tilly (my yellow lab) was younger she would jump fences and seemed to have this knack for escaping. Now she doesnât have that problem so much anymore. She was a rescue and we got her on the first day she was taken in.
I bet you have given her a beautiful life, Jeff - people who rescue dogs are phenomenally wonderful.
Itâs a special kind of love you build with rescues. It gives us great joy.
Indeed. My cousin, a vet who suffers from PTSD, just got word that sheâs going to be getting rescue dog trained as a companion for PTSD suffers! So cool!
That is cool Dudette….a pet makes a world of difference in making life worth living.
Yep, Iâm so happy for her. Itâs gonna take months though — she has to go through training, dog has more training, then they train together, then eval of the dog in her home for a while, then they become a family. đđžđâ¤ď¸

Itâs not completely right yet 57, which is a worry - Iâm going to finish his course of tablets (they end tomorrow), but definitely if thereâs still a sign of a limp then Iâll take him for an x-ray. I had been clinging to the sting theory, now wondering about the vetâs hunch it might be a metatarsal problem.
Iâd get the x-ray. Get as much information as possible. Pain killers, prednisone can mask whatâs going on. Keep us posted. At least he has a comfortable new sofa………
Thatâs the thing 57, I give him one of his tablets and he seems perfect again, but as soon as it wears off the limp comes back - which definitely suggests thereâs a problem. I thought he was okay today so took him for a walk, he was ecstatic, had a fab time, but the limp was back as soon as he was home.
Yes, you need to have it looked at. The problem treating dogs: they donât understand to “take it easy” if theyâre out of pain. You have to make sure something else isnât going on.
Problem with all pain-killers, really, even the human kind - they mask the pain, making you think youâre invincible :-) Will have him checked out.
I do it all the time - I take something for pain and I do as much as I can until it wears off. That being said, I know when I could hurt myself by doing too much if I donât hurt. Dogs donât get that. They just feel better and want to do stuff.

Oh, that sofa was just made for Danny and I see youâve got a nice bright cover on it to add cheer. Iâm sure someday when heâs older, Danny will formally thank you for getting him a sofa of his own when he was two.

Thank God that so many have stepped up. When will we learn that all of our children are worthy of our concern, our encouragement and our protection?

I totally agree with this statement. The Latino families Iâve met are hard working and family-centered people. They want decent jobs, good education for their families, health care, safe neighborhoods and a chance for their children to succeed. Yet, like every other immigrant group in history, theyâre subjected to almost unrelenting disparagement and marginalization. If I had a dollar for every time Iâve heard a middle class Anglo refer to Latinos as “them,” or “those people,” Iâd be a rich woman.

I read it on the old orange satan blog because they are rabid Bernie supporters so I like to know their thoughts as things are cooling down for HRC and heating up for our VP to run. I did not listen to BS speech because like someone pointed out that many on that blog called PBO a sellout for speaking at the Saddleback Church and having Rick Warren at the inaugural. I am glad that an Evangelical pastor is seeing the light although it sounds like they already were close to it, but after listening to BS put it in a biblical way about Jesus. What I get from this is sometimes the message has to come from the “right” person at the “right” time. PBO was the “right” person at the “right” time with his message of Change. Maybe BS as a Jew and that being Jesus was also a Jew, that for some people the light bulb turns on. To me PBO has been saying the same thing but not as bluntly because the message would not be taken the same way by this pastor if PBO had said the exact same thing.

Also want to add this. Most, if not all here, know that my husband is a Republican. But, I am seeing more and more changes in his attitude and even some things he openly says. It is obvious that he clearly sees what the extreme right-wing/TP has done/is doing to the GOP. On the social issues, he is NOT where many Râs are, not even close. And, Iâve become much more BOLD in either making comments when we watch the “news” or reading/sharing things from here or something I read somewhere else. EX: I will share this article with him and I know that he will be in total agreement with what this preacher says. One reason is that that 95% (at least) of what this preacher says could have been said by any of our pastors……..and we are NOT a right-wing evangelical church!! :)

I also voted for Carter who was a great president in my opinion and felt that the media did to him what they did to Ford (R), Bush (R), and Kerry (D) when the Corporatist donât get their way, they run so-called news events to put them in a bad light to the public. For the first time I saw that it is the media and their Corporate owners that want to shape the narrative and fortunately they have run up against Barack Obama who they canât beat. We have either gotten too smart or we have other sources to get our news information like The Obama Diary and know their M.O.
