I also think Joe can win. I honestly think he is the right man for THIS time.
The Obama presidency has been one where americans have been asked to accept lots of big changes. America didn’t have the choice. Not only Bush had left America in shambles, but he had lost 8 years, hadn’t worked on any long term problem. So Barack Obama, with his youth, his energy, his boldness, had to work twice as hard as a president normally does. That made for a big agenda, and tumultuous years. Add to that, obviously, the fact that Barack Obama is the first black president, and is the perfect illustration of a changing America. No doubt that it has made a certain portion of the population lose its marbles.
So enters Joe Biden. A fatherly figure and a white man. His presidency could allow a “pause” to people who are scared because they have to adapt to a changing America. I’m not talking only about race. I’m talking about the job market, the new dynamics of global geo-politics, the technology that changes so rapidly, you name it… Joe Biden can be the REASSURING figure who tells them that everything is going to be all right. He is a senior who can talk about the past but HE IS ALSO CONFIDENT ABOUT THE FUTURE. Despite his age, he EMBRACES CHANGES, and HAS NO PREJUDICE.
And he’s authentic. Generous. Intelligent. Progressive and pragmatic at the same time. Optimistic. Charismatic. Excellent communicator.
He has it all.
He would get the Obama coalition, plus a good portion of moderates and independents.
If he and his family accept this adventure, it would be wonderful. But we have to respect his decision.

rikyrah, did you hear what Goldie said? She used to be on Rev. Al show alot. She told the story about her son who has a lead foot, he got stop twice, once in Arkansas and once in Georgia. In Arkansas they thought her son was white and they took him in and he wasn’t put in jail with the rest of the people, he was taken to a office and was allow to call home and he and the officer talk and kiddie around. He was told to make sure he return on the date he was given. Now when he was stop n Georgia they said he was black and they put him in jail were he was call names and all. See the difference.
I loved when Steve explain it like that, just imagine if it was your child. Even Michael Brown, they put down that kid so they can say he deserve what he got. But what if that was your child? Laying out there in the street for hours like a dead animal. But he was a thug and he deserve to be shot six times. Then Tamir Rice, 12 year old kid playing in the park and he was gun down.
It is not right and i think anyone who does it , well they shouldn’t do it. But when black folks set something on fire it’s not because their team lost a sports championship.
The assumption is that the Black person deserved what ever foul treatment white folks dish out, then they work backwards to blame the victim. Any excuse will be sufficient. For Trayvon it was because he was wearing a hoodie (although white kids are not murdered for wearing hoodies). For Sandra Bland it was because she talked back to the cops (although white women are not killed for talking back to cops and no such justification would be uttered to justify a white woman being beaten or killed by the police). For Tamir Rice is was that his father owed back child support (although no one would think to justify the murder of a white child based on his father’s actions or shortcomings). As I said, any excuse will be sufficient.

Wonderful introduction to the film by President Obama. And I just love watching him work rope lines. He’s the best.
You know, listening in here, without watching any of it, or any ‘media’ commentary, my intuitive take in the entire GOP going over the cliff with the most ridiculous and preposterous behavior, is still this: ‘Delerium Tremens’ (my name for DT) foaming at the mouth as he is doing, reaching for ever lower levels of depravity and soulless demonstration of that which exhibits the basest human nature, is a plot by the family Clinton, with the goal to show #eversotiredofhillary as the only true and viable candidate, who will rescue us all and the world from certain catastrophe if a GOP is elected. I cannot say why I have this feeling, but beyond the pale vulgar behavior such as we are being treated to makes no sense at all, at all. DT doesn’t care about anything other than his wooden ego (admit I have never watched his trashy show, or even heard his voice), but if I am right, this is costing not a penny of his own ‘vast wealth’, ill-gotten no doubt, he has no intention of being president of anything, and is quite happy to be the star of yet another garbage reality show. To have no soul consciousness at all is unfathomable to me, but anyway, that’s what keeps coming into my mind. If in the finale they succeed in shutting down the GOP as is presently exists, perhaps they will have done the world a favor. Time will tell. And let us remember, PBO did ask all of us to tune in and listen to the debates ( if you have the stomach for it) so not all those ratings are from people who support this pathos.
