      I think people should see this plastered all over the place. This picture. This militia group, and others like it. Call it what it is…anti- American and dangerous. The Constitution means nothing. Separation of powers means nothing. They are terrified of changing demographics of their 1950’s version of what’s acceptable for America. Only thing missing is the hood.

      And then some people here wonder why we might have a problem with voting for Hillary. She did all of this as Secretary of State but when she was in the Whitehouse her nor her old man couldn’t get health care passed. When the Clintons were in the Whitehouse we got DOMA and DADT. But now she wants to be credited with ending DOMA and DADT and every goddamn things else that President Obama accomplished, right? And this is person I’m supposed to vote for just to keep a Republican out of the Whitehouse. I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again, black people can survive another Republican as President, we did it before and we can do it again. Please try us.

            What feels good emotionally in the short term can have long term negative consequences. Ask the Naderites. GOP appointing Supreme Ct justices in heat of PBO racist backlash would have serious consequences. Repeal of ACA will hurt alot of people, black and white. Lesser if two evils is often all we have in life. GOP maintains power because they are willing to vote against the Dem, Dems would be wise to di the same or PBO and his legacy will be rolled back. It happened after the first Reconstruction.

              When is it okay for us to stop eating all the shit that Hillary is feeding us? Are we to accept all the bullshit she serves us just so we can get a Democrat in the Whitehouse? The fact that Team Clinton would give their approval for something like this to come out shows nothing but contempt. President Obama won the Whitehouse twice without feeding us shit or showing us contempt. Eric, you want us to look the other way when something like this comes out just so we can get another Democrat in the Whitehouse. You would think that after losing to Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton and her team would have learned a thing or two. But hey, she doesn’t need to learn anything, let’s just make sure she makes it to the Whitehouse, and then everything will be all better. The journey to the Presidency is just as important as being President.

                You would think that after voting for Nader and getting 8 years of GWB and the near collapse of our country Dems would know better than to give the keys back to the GOP. I am not asking any body to eat shit. I am merely pointing out the consequences if too many Dems take your position. Who’s position do you think PBO would support, yours or mine? In my response I listed real world consequences and all I get from you are feelings and emotion and sybmolism. If you or your family depended on ACA I don’t think you would be so cavalier about real world consequences of the GOP retaking the White House. Voice your disapproval, support another candidate during the primaries, but rally around the eventual nominee. This message is probably lost on you, but I hope others will think rationally about consequences of the present day GOP controlling both houses of Congress and the White House.

            PTC in a serious way >> If you do not vote *for* the Dem candidate (and a couple of them have disrespected PBO on occasion), it could be argued that you will be party to ‘voting in’ the very persons who not only disrespect him on a daily basis, some downright do not like him!

        I will vote for the nominee of the Democratic Party, whoever that will be, because so much is at stake, the supreme court, war and peace, human rights, and the entire legacy of our dear president, Barack Obama. Those things far outweigh any personal sense of righteousness I may have.

          We all must vote for the (D) nominee no matter who is is and how much we dislike him or her. It sucks that in a country with 350 million plus people our choice has been made so narrow.

      • 33 jackiegrumbacher
        September 20, 2025 at 4:14 pm

        Don, the country can’t survive another Republican president. That person will be replacing some of the Supreme Court Justices and, if they’re conservative judges, you can say goodbye to civil and human rights for a generation. There will be a massive effort to privatize everything-schools, Social Security and huge sections of the government. Health care costs will soar and vital programs for children and the disabled will disappear. Our infrastructure will crumble, our parks will disappear, our economy will tank and our military will be sent on endless missions to show how powerful we are while the battlefields get filled with the dead and wounded. The loss in lives and livelihoods would be nothing short of catastrophic. So if I have to walk into a polling place with a clothespin on my nose to vote for the Democrat, I will. They might irritate and frustrate us, but they won’t set out to deliberately destroy the US as any Republican will do.

          The WORLD cannot survive another GOP Presidency.

          GWB disaster was no fluke.

          The financial meltdown has continued ramifications in my exurban world (mentioned before the Nissan [middle-class] dealership left town, replaced with Rolls Royce/Bentley.)

          Many stores went under, and now there are two types of stores here — overpriced hipster/elite crap or discount/Latino stores. Retail establishments that serve the middle class are rare indeed here.

          I agree Jackie. This cutting off your nose to spite your face just to prove a point is not politically savvy and is extremely selfish. To willingly let people suffer in an effort to satiate one’s pride is something we often accuse the whiny left with doing. PBO knows more about politics than we do and he is the butt of this disrespect that is setting Don off, and I am certain PBO would want us to vote for HRC if she is the Dem nominee. That should really settle the matter, if we are being rational.

            .but…in order to win the WH…there has to be a Massive grass roots efforts which includes community organizing and voter registration…this is not the Forte of the DNC…hell they want to contract the number of debates…not e x p a n d the number of debates…and get flip because folks want more……they are not interested in any grass roots organizing happening…they want to empower themselves not grass roots people…..most of all they continue to run from and insult the man who won twice…despite the DNC…..
            unless this changes…well…i will let you decide what happens

I don’t give a fuck about HRC, but I do want a Dem in the White House to make sure PBO’s many accomplishments are sustained and a Dem is appointing Supreme Ct justices and staffing the Dept. of Justice and appointing federal judges. I am certain PBO feels the same way too. How is what I am saying controversial?

            September 20, 2025 at 4:22 pm

            Another bad choice of words:

            She calls herself an “outsider” because she would be the first woman president.

            http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/hillary-clinton-political-outsider-president/story?id=33898281

            She and her campaign have to come up with some other language. Yes, she probably faces a greater challenge within the Beltway because of her gender, (although she’s married to Bill and nobody wants to “cross” him).

            Anyway, whatever the challenge her gender poses, to call herself, a Clinton, an “outsider”, doesn’t pass the smell test. Voters will cringe.

    See the previous thread for Nena’s, meta’s, and prettyfoots contributions on the efforts to erase President Obama from history.

    The GOP will be denying PBO’s successes. Pre-rebutting Gitmo closure and then ignoring when it happens are today’s entries.
    Just as Iran deal was everywhere until PBO won. Then—crickets.

    HRC will attempt to steal everything she can from PBO, VPB, and SOS Kerry.
    Rename it for herself. Good luck with that.

    I expect vigorous pushback from all those who admire the Obama Administration.

      In her actions here Hillary reminds me of that person in high school/college groups who attaches his/her name to a project, does precious little, but uncomplainingly collects the ‘A’ if one is awarded. If, however, the project bombs, that’s the very person likely to ask for a personal re-do because the others hadn’t let him/her participate. She never fails to come up with some chicanery, or with actions that seem less than above board! She was SoS, so wouldn’t one expect her to be doing her job, working with her ‘boss’? It’s not like *she* laid out all of this from the richness of her brain. I’m sorry, but this woman makes it difficult to warm up to her. I suspect that those who slobber over her do so because of what they can get, or have gotten. I really don’t see her earning adulation and unflinching support because of her character. Having seen her in action that’s simply not credible to me.

      • 48 meta
        September 20, 2025 at 3:26 pm

        It sort of feels like she’s going to “fix” Obamacare because 1) she wants to resurrect her own opinion of herself that she’s an expert in healthcare and 2) She wants to pick a fight with Republicans who will surely go after her plan, whatever it is. Either way, I think it’s a strategic blunder and stirring up something that doesn’t need stirring up just as we’re about to go into open enrollment.

        • 49 vcprezofan2
          September 20, 2025 at 3:37 pm

          She probably thinks picking a fight with them will show how tough she is.

          I honestly think HRC is somewhat ‘tone’ deaf. She is so hellbent on the position of 1st female president, she cannot see that she may not make a good leader. She is educated, experienced, well-connected, etc. etc. and has made contributions re women’s issues and spoken up for them, but all that does not negate the fact her decision-making skills don’t showcase too well. I find it sad that she dos not seem to have matured/grown much from the Hillary who campaigned in 2007/8.

    NC News Anchor Advises Black Intern to Straighten Her Hair
    Sep 20, 15

    *The natural hair movement is in full effect throughout the country. Women of color are beginning to embrace their God-given roots (literally), and turning away from chemicals and other hair-straightening products.

    However, for some women, “natural hair” is perceived as a potential source of criticism in the workplace, making it a difficult decision to embrace.

    WNCT news anchor Angela Green posted a video on her Facebook page Monday discussing natural hair at work. Green said that WNCT’s intern, Madison, wears her hair natural. Green also pointed out that she wears straight hair because her bosses prefer it that way.
    From the video, you can see that Madison’s hair is curly and extremely voluminous. Green goes on to explain that Madison is preparing to start work on a production, but an issue came up with her hair.

    Madison was told that her hair was too big and “distracting.” Green explained that there are people out there with all different types of hair, and how it should be worn in the workplace depends on the market you’re in, as well as your bosses.

    “My advice is to straighten it out, just to please everybody,” Green stated as her advice to Madison.

    She asked people on Facebook what they would tell Madison, and needless to say, some people were upset with Green for giving what they thought was horrible advice.

      What a bunch of malarkey- along w/ a heaping plate of racism. As a Caucasian woman who worked in just about every kind of work environment- never ever did anyone- boss or other supervisor type instruct me on what to do with or how to style my hair. Not in 40 years of employment. This is hogwash. I had a lot of hair- long and red/strawberry blonde so it was rather noticeable… and the only time I was told I might think about shortening it- was in the U.S. Army before I went thru the ‘gas chamber’. Gas masks are easier without lots of hair/ barrettes; etc. But the army does own you when you enlist.. so they get to do that.

      Anyway, that whole commentary is destructive and wrong. Smacks of discrimination to me.

      have worn my hair natural for very long - most of my life & before it was fashionable again;

      morning routine : shampoo & comb & off I go with the small unruly curls my parents (especially my paternal grandfather) shared with me - with hair color not easy to describe from the dictionary;

      personal rule: if you don’t like the look of my hair, fine, I understand; but it is your responsibility to look away and admire the hair you like from among the many styles other prefer to have;

    The State of Teacher Diversity in American Education

    Teacher Diversity in the U.S. is an area of concern. The teacher work force has gotten less ethnically and racially diverse and more female, a development which has had an adverse effect on students, particularly on males of color. It is an impediment to the broader goals of equity and social harmony. ASI is working to better understand teacher labor market trends and identify promising interventions aimed at increased teacher diversity in K-12 education.

    This report shows that nationally, progress toward greater diversity is being made, but it is quite modest compared to the need for more minority teachers. In the nine cities studied—Boston, Chicago, Cleveland, Los Angeles, New Orleans, New York City, Philadelphia, San Francisco and Washington, D.C.—the picture is much more bleak, and there are only a few pockets of progress, surrounded by serious setbacks.

    Share of black teachers in 9 urban school districts down hard between 2002-2011: NYC -15%, Philadelphia -19%, Chicago -39%, and, the champ, New Orleans - 62%

    On the ground in my state, we are finalizing our plans to make a push for those still uninsured to enroll in ObamaCare;

    so with the open enrollment period for this year almost upon us, someone believes it is the best time to talk about “fixing ObamaCare” and thereby muddle the outreach message;

    why not put your effort in challenging all those states who have refused to expand Medicaid to the poor and working poor;

    earlier, I seem to have heard boosting from some the inevitable camp saying they will be very successful in the south;

    so perhaps effort would be better spent encouraging the people in those states to demand that their gop legislatures expand Medicaid;

    if the past elections are any guide, how did candidates who run on “fixing ObamaCare” perform? in our swing state, the Senator run on defending ObamaCare and was reelected very comfortably;

      THIS HAS GONE ON SINCE PBO ENTERED THE OVAL OFFICE…TO THE REPUGNANTS…PBO IS STILL THE ANTI-CHRIST…THE ONE WHO ENDANGERS US ALL…AND THEY WON’T BELIEVE ANYTHING ELSE UNTIL HE IS OUT OF OFFICE. I CANNOT WAIT TO PERMANENTLY MOVE OUT WEST TO AID THE RESERVATION AND GET AWAY FROM CULTISTS WHO THINK JESUS CHRIST HONORS THEIR DESPICABLE BEHAVIOR TO THOSE WHO ARE DIFFERENT!
