SOS Kerry has 3 meetings on Saturday with Zarif-Iran, Abbas-Palestine, and a Minister from Saudi Arabia.
VPB will be in NYC with FLOTUS on Saturday and will be saying the official goodbye to the Pope, in Philadelphia, on Sunday.

Oh, Whew… I was afraid maybe he said something…. I just love this Pope and I am not Catholic. My oldest brother was christened Catholic and goes to church almost everyday sometimes twice a day (heâs retired). I canât get him to say too much on how he feels about Pope Frances.
I tell you Chips when the RWNJâs on C-SPAN call in and have nothing but nice things to say about the Pope I feel there is still hope for Americans. I am forever thankful to Pope Frances for bring a huge rainbow of Peace to the USA.
Heâs wonderful JoJo, he really is. And I still remember when he was elected, Iâd never heard of him, so I looked him up and didnât like what I saw - and assumed it was going to be Benedict all over again. Thank the heavens, heâs been Benedictâs opposite!
So true Chips. Did you hear that he wants to step down when he turns 80yrs old? I hope he changes his mind and stays longer. I am just amazed what he has done in this short period of time. It seems like heâs been Pope a lot longer. Heâs like PBO, as Sue would say, our energizer bunny Pope.
Thatâs the one regret in all of this JoJo, that he didnât get the job when he was younger - but Iâd guess he wouldnât have been the same Pope if he had, heâs mellowed so much. Heâs dynamic for his age, an amazing man.
Poor guy, he looks a bit tuckered out when I watched taking pictures at the UN. Tomorrow is his last stop then home or somewhere else?
I guess after 2017…the good news is that weâll have a lot more time on our hands…no more paying attention to State Dinners, or caring what the First Lady/First Man is wearing at these dinners or at other functions….LOL!

New Books Analyze the Photographs of Frederick Douglass and Sojourner Truth

Two of the most famous 19th-century African-Americans, Frederick Douglass and Sojourner Truth, commissioned formal photographs of themselves as part of their public relations strategies. Books expected out this fall reproduce virtually every known surviving portrait of them and explore their defiance of stereotypes of victimhood.
Truth, who was illiterate and born into slavery in upstate New York, shrewdly copyrighted her photos and marketed them for about 40 cents each including postage. In âEnduring Truths: Sojournerâs Shadows and Substanceâ (University of Chicago Press), the art historian Darcy Grimaldo Grigsby, a professor at the University of California, Berkeley, analyzes Truthâs sittings for a half-dozen photographers.
Dr. Grimaldo Grigsby found 28 different images of Truth, dressed in striped and polka-dot dresses and white shawls and caps. (The prints can now bring thousands of dollars each.) Truth usually tried to conceal her mangled right hand, which was probably injured when she was enslaved and sent out to harvest crops. In the photo studios, she sometimes held knitting projects in her lap; white thread trailed across her skirts. She also posed with a framed oval photo of her grandson, James Caldwell, who had served in the Union Army alongside Douglassâs sons and survived a stint as a Confederate prisoner of war in Charleston, S.C.

Yes. During the Reagan & Bush41 administrations, military aides that were not used as seat fillers, and civilian staffers were served in shifts in a separate room. Usually was the same meal served buffet.
